You'd be forgiven for walking past Andy's on your way up Maryhill Road. Despite its florescent signage lighting, it's a tiny takeaway that looks like it's been left in the late 90s.
But if you did choose to ignore its luminous glory, you'd be very foolish indeed. Andy's menu is extensive and pleasingly cheap. What's more, the food is delicious, especially when his succulent duck offerings are on the cards.
Andy's is open pretty late even on week nights, putting it ahead of the rest of the takeaways in the area. What's more, the staff are willing to improvise, especially when you're a tad tispy and can't make up your mind what you fancy munching. One night I got duck chow mein, which I'm pretty sure is an uncommon choice but I certainly polished it off.
With the home delivery services and unchanging, affordable menu, Andy's winning formula has worked for him for years, and this old-school takeaway sells the freshest Chinese food in town without any unnecessary frills. It's my boyfriend's new favourite place to get some scran around these parts and considering we're regulars, it's safe to say Andy's is worth revisiting on a weekly basis! read more
