The mood in the bar is chilled, with nice mood lighting, good tunes and board games and books to use at your leisure should you want. The kitchen bar is open during club hours too, so if you don't feel like dancing you can head on in to the kitchen and chill and/or eat and/or drink and/or play some board games at 2am!! The club is just as unique. there's parts of old furniture attached to the walls, lots of subtle nods to "The Big Lebowski" everywhere and lots of places to sit. There is a big quirky bar with all the mod cons including that lovely vintage tv playing some obscure Japanese films, of course. There's a big no frills dance area, complete with a wardrobe in the middle of the floor to dance around. There's not much in the way of flashy flashy lights, instead they have projections bouncing about the venue providing lighting changes and blasts from the pasts in the way of old footage and stuff. I've seen people stop dancing to reminisce at what they are seeing on the big projection screens. There is a nice set of standard lamps around to supply extra lighting around the tabled ares too. There is space for fowk to dance and sit and mingle with out feeling like a club, even though it kinda is. Friday and saturday nights see a good varied selection of club nights from 90's themed ones with bingo to indie stuff to b-sides to rawk to funk and everything in between. Determining to pop in after I made my purchases, I happily went to pick up my goods. By the time I was entering the cafe I was famished. I scoped the place out and was heartened to see loads of fresh veg for sale, a bookcase full of eclectic choices and a piano in the far back. The lovely waitress was very patient and informative as the daily menu hadn't been put up on the chalkboard wall yet. I decided on a mix of 2 delicious looking salads, carrot and kale quinoa and roast garlic and nut quinoa. I asked for a side portion of the tasty looking hummus and finished with a bottle of cloudy apple juice. I went to sit down and noticed around the back of the kitchen was a pop up trade shop, full of lovely wee bits and pieces. Customers were encouraged to take, swap or donate! For what looked like a small portion I actually struggled to finish it, and I'm a big girl! You know that way you know you're full but it's too awesome to waste? After eating I checked out Yelp for more reviews and noticed a few people talking about the awesome toilet. Intrigued, I went for a look - worth it is all I'll say! On exiting the loo I ended up chatting with the owner who was adding stock to the swap shop, and I told her the different ways she could use Yelp to promote her business. She too was incredibly nice, and I assured her I would be back soon. All in all I feel I've found a wee pocket oasis deceptively close to the hustle and bustle of Sauchiehall. I noticed they also seem to run lots of cool drink promos throughout the week with some nice sounding cocktails available at decent prices. On to the real treat now. I had the Bangkok Burger in a roti. So a burger but more in a a sausage shape than the normal burger circle and then wrapped in a chapatti type bread! It was brilliant. You could clearly taste the lemon grass, chilli and coriander and it worked so well. On the side I got spicy thin fries and spicy coleslaw, both were also lovely. I really enjoyed my lunch yesterday, there is a multitude of other dishes on the menu that I would like to try and it is all very reasonably priced. If you have not been here yet, I would definitely suggest you give it a try.
