Andrea Bakes made two fantastic and beautiful cakes for our boys' birthday party! The cakes were beautifully decorated, they tasted delicious, they were ready on time, and they went perfectly with the party's theme.
Let's just say, I'm very very thankful that I came across Andrea Bakes after my brother's baker for many years couldn't come through with my order. I was definitely stressed out about finding someone until I found Andrea Bakes here on yelp. I couldn't be any happier! I never customized and ordered a cake before. Andrea made the process very simple and easy. All I had to do was wait for the cake to come. I order a nerf cake 3 tier . Bottom: white cake with strawberry filling, middle: red velvet, top: chocolate cake with fudge filling. Most places that I inquired for the cake said they couldn't do it or too many flavor. BUT for ANDREA No questions, definitely no I can't do that for you for special requests. She doesn't take no for an answer. Overall, not only was the cake made to my order. The cake was amazing!!!!!! Everything was moist && everyone were asking for 2nds and 3rds at the party. Not only was she talented with bake goods, she was very accommodating! I wasn't able to pick up my cake since my venue changed. I asked if she can deliver and she was able to make that happen!!! BTW there's a delivery feee! Thank you so much for making my step sons cake! You're very talented and amazing!!! I can't wait for you to work on my next order!
I cannot express how much we loved the beautiful cakes Andrea baked for our boys' first birthday! They were super cute and delicious! The salted caramel was definitely a huge hit with all our friends and family! More importantly, Andrea was amazing to work with and showed a great attention to detail! She truly made our boys' birthday a fun and memorable one!
Andrea is truly amazing. She made me a cake for my baby shower and I couldn't be happier. All my guest loved the cake and even asked for her info so they can use her in the future. She was super easy to communicate with and fulfilled all my picky request when it came to the exact cake I wanted. When it came to the flavor she never made a cake like the one I request but was totally up for trying to make it, I'm so glad she tried cause it was was an absolute success. I am very grateful I found her and will be using her for all my future cake needs. I will definitely be referring her to all my friends and family.
Andrea is AWESOME! After searching near and far for a baker that could create my vision in a short amount of time I happened upon Andrea's yelp page. Andrea promptly responded, sketched out my vision for a two-tiered cake featuring a sugar bottle of Vueve Cliquot champagne. She was very responsive to inquiries. The cake was delivered in a timely manner and looked fabulous. The cake easily served 20+ people and received RAVE reviews from party guests who are still talking about how good the cake was. I look forward to recommending Andrea and using her talent for all my future events.
If I could give more stars I would!! As we all know the pivot to virtual events has been interesting to say the least. Many of us corporate event planners are looking for innovative ways to keep engagement and morale up with teams remotely, this is a priority for many companies. I highly recommend Andrea Bakes for any occasion that calls for a fabulous custom cake or cookies. Team birthdays, work anniversaries, a virtual farewell event with a "Show Us The Cake" element where the recipient "shows off" their amazing cake to Zoom attendees then shares with household members (festive plates, napkins and other fun party props can be included in your package). She delivers locally. With the holidays upon us I'm looking forward to booking Andrea to guide my group through a cookie decorating team builder in December. Andrea Bakes is your one-stop shop for this type of virtual event. She handles all the details from A-Z.
Andrea went above and beyond expectations with my kiddo's bday cake! I've edited out name only for privacy, but attached pix to see how fantastic she did. I asked for a Pokémon Mega Absol and what she put together was a beautiful recreation! Kiddo was so excited and made me remove the Absol from the cake so we could keep it. Andrea was super easy to work with, responded to IMs quickly and even delivered to my front door! It's so nice to have a community baker who's customer service is exceptional. The cake was a tri-layer vanilla with buttercream frosting and fresh strawberry/whipped cream filling between the layers. Everyone at the party ate every last bite and raved at the flavor. I will definitely hire her again! Thank you for making double digits bday an epic day, Andrea!
This review was long overdue. Andrea did you my daughters birthday cake and she did a wonderful job! My daughter loves pepperoni pizza and she loved the cake!! I will be using her services again for my husbands birthday! I'm glad I found a great baker here in Alameda!
Andrea is awesome!! I was looking for a custom Tsum Tsum Theme cake for my son's 100 days party & contacted over 10 bakery in east bay, they are either over priced or didn't answer emails until couple days!! Only Andrea answered my emails/messages within a short period of time & she charged reasonable price!! Most important is the cake she made was exactly what I want & the cake tasted really good!! My guests love the cake so much!! Thanks Andrea!!
I am constantly amazed at how meticulously Andrea recreates any characters or requests for cakes, cookies and cupcakes. Anytime I need cohesive imagery for a personal or business event, I turn to Andrea. She can print photos/logos on cakes and cookies, as well as build 3-d sculptures. I've watched her create and keep telling her she should charge more for her perfect combination of artistry and yummy taste. I can't recommend Andrea enough. You will be a star with your team or family of you work with Andrea. Leave the details to her and put your mind to rest.
This review is a little late but better late than never ;) Andrea did an AMAZING job with my sister's graduation cake!! My sister was extremely excited and my whole family raved about how delicious the cake was. Definitely going to book another cake for the next family event!
I am very happy I found the perfect baker for me! Thank you so much for responding promptly to my order and special requests in such a short notice! The Raiders cake was perfect, so moist and delicious! Thank you, Andrea for coming to my rescue! Andrea will from now on be my to-go-to for cakes! She is such a talented baker and I highly recommend her to anyone who seeks for the best customized and delicious cakes!! You will not be disappointed!!
I wanted a custom cake for my bestie's birthday and she loves Rilakkuma. I found Andrea and she is such an awesome baker! I don't really know about baking but I'm sensitive with the taste. Andrea went step by step of how she is going to make the cake (layers, filling...) The cake overall is just awesome and come out exactly as I wanted! It served 13 people and we all loved it! Thank you Andrea!

We ordered a cake and cupcakes for my son's birthday party. Andrea was very precise and professional in managing the order via email and both cakes and cupcakes were amazing. She suggested using Swiss Meringue buttercream that is slightly less sweet and everyone adored. The chocolate cupcakes were light and chocolatey. The lemon and strawberry cupcakes were nice, the base dense and yummy like a lemon madeleine, the strawberry buttercream so flavorful that it is like eating fresh strawberries. And the cake was delicious as well. A bit too sweet, but we chose white chocolate! But light and flavorful. It was a big success. read more

Andrea made the most beautiful cake and mini cupcakes for my sons birthday!!! Not only was it beautiful but extremely delicious, everyone at the party commented on how yummy it was, moist and not overly sweet like many cakes can be!! I contacted her on a short notice, she was extremely responsive and collaborative. I sent her a ton of text messages showing possible ideas and asking for advice! Definitely a 5 star service all around! She is a hidden gem, definitely use her for all and any of your cake needs read more

I found Andrea scrolling on yelp looking for a custom cake that was in alameda and once I saw all her pictures and reviews I decided to take a leap of faith. And I'm glad I did. She was so professional from the beginning. Answering any and all questions I had, promptly. She delivered what I wanted and more. She even did an exact replica of my sons custom jersey on the cake itself. Need I say more? You must try her salted Carmel cake. It was a hit. People were texting me days later asking who made that cake. read more

Andrea's cakes are not only beautiful but delicious! My guests who first say, "Oh, I'll just have a small slice" come back for seconds, pack some to go, and ask who made this amazing cake. I want to host more parties just so I can get another cake. She'll be making our family birthday cakes for years to come! read more

Andrea made a beautiful and delicious cake for my son's birthday. He is obsessed with trains and asked for a Bart train cake, but also wanted an Amtrak train as well. I described this to Andrea and she made this awesome cake, which was a big hit at the party. My son loved it and it was delicious! I chose Andrea based on the other Yelp reviews and she did not disappoint. We communicated mostly through Yelp messages and she had the cake ready right on time! Thank you Andrea! read more

Andrea is amazing! I've bought three cakes from her, for three different occasions. I told her the theme I wanted and let her take creative control. She delivered fresh, delicious, creative cakes on time and within my budget. In all occasions, my guests raved about how good the cake was! But just as important my 9 year old sports loving son was in awe of her creation of a basketball court and ball. Andrea is professional, creative and fun! I wouldn't trust anyone else! read more
