I went to Andolini's for the first time last Sunday for lunch with two friends. I and one friend had never tried their food and the other friend had ordered pizza for delivery but had never eaten in. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, the staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. One friend ordered a Reuben, which was huge and she said it was delicious. She would have preferred traditional Swiss cheese instead of Provolone but she loved the sandwich and took one home for her husband. I ordered a pepperoni calzone, which was also very large and very good. It had a very generous amount of filling, the dough was very tasty and the marinara dipping sauce was good. My leftovers reheated very well in my toaster oven and tasted just as good the next day. The only thing that made me unhappy was that the only drinks they offered were bottles and cans from a cooler, which you had to pay for. Unless I'm ordering a beer I almost always drink ice water in restaurants because non-alcoholic drink prices are so ridiculously inflated. I asked at the counter if I could get a cup of water and he told me it would be tap water but agreed, which I appreciated. I think they should put a cooler of ice water and some cups in the dining room instead of trying to force people to purchase drinks. For a family with two or three kids, buying a drink for each diner can significantly jack up the cost of the meal. During a discussion at work where we talked about pizza, a colleague informed me about Andolini's and about how good there pizzas are a long time ago but I never really payed that much attention. However on 05/30/2014 I was craving some pizza and I didn't really feel like trying the typical chains (e.g. Papa Johns, Pizzahut, Dominos) but something new and different. That's when I opened up my Yelp app and did a quick search for pizza. When the search was complete a few places were displayed as I began to scroll down I happened to come across "Andolini's". When I saw this place in the list I immediately began to think about the conversation that my colleague and I had about Andolini's. I immediately figured out where it was located and off my wife and I went. When we finally arrived at Andolini's you can tell that the seating would probably be limited and that the pizza is either going to be a hit or miss. We finally enter the store and I realize although it isn't a very big establishment they do have a reasonable amount of seating, however, most definitely not enough for large parties (I advise ordering and taking the pizza to go if you want pizza for a large party). They also have a TV there for the customers to watch. Being that it was our first time we needed time to look over their menu (fyi, I don't believe they have a wall menu so you will have to grab one of their paper menu's). After about approximately ten minutes of deliberation my wife and I decided to order a large "Andolini's" Pizza with olives. Let me just say that the pizza was absolutely delicious. I mean the pizza was so good, that although my wife and I were content with two slices we most definitely had to eat a third slice (yeah we were glutenous pigs....lol). After the third slice we were pretty full and wanted to eat a fourth slice but we were just too full. The staff was nice as well ensuring that we had everything and we enjoyed our pizza. My husband and I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with a side salad and a medium pizza (half plain cheese and half with sausage and onions). I LOVED the garlic flavor in the fettuccine alfredo -- so delicious. I added some crushed red pepper flakes and it was a fantastic dish. It came with some bread (similar to garlic bread but not quite) and the homemade italian dressing on the salad was DELICIOUS. Partially HALAL. The nice man behind the counter told us the meat products are all halal (not the pork though) and gave us a menu to take home. Nice! For the quality of a take out order, 5 stars! The Chicken Caesar Wrap was deliciously filled with all kinds of greasy goodness. It had ample amounts of tender chicken, fresh shredded lettuce, lots of feta cheese and everything else. The wrap was warm, filling, and of great quality. The Vegetarian pizza was well cooked and prepared like we asked. It had plenty of toppings and well made. However, the taste was nothing special. It reminded us of Dominos on a good day. Despite this, it was decent for a one time experience and still a well presented pizza. Skip the mushrooms though. They were not fresh and were rubbery, thick, and of the canned sort. And they used white onions. I also ordered a slice of plain cheesecake ( Menu: Cheesecake Factory brand) which was tasty and soft and creamy (not firm like NY Style Cheesecake). And I got a nice, big piece for only $4. Yay! The food and service is promising, especially for a take-out order. The menu looks good, too. For a pizzeria, they offer all sorts of foods. Andolini's was my go to spot for family, fresh pizza. Over the last 3 years the quality of the pizza, delivery, and service has gone down. Today, I ordered the 2 large pizza special. The guy on the phone who took the call could not understand me, got frustrated and put the owner on the phone. She completed my order without issue. I didnt mentioned the rudeness of the guy taking my order and waited for my pizzas. The pizzas arrived promptly in 45 minutes. Upon inspection we noticed that the pizza wasn't hot. Ok, whatever. As the kids started eating the pizza they noted it was cold. I took a bite. It was refrigerator cold. When I checked the pizzas fully it felt like the pizza's weren't freshly made and even colder in the middle. I called back since I have been a weekly customer for a long time and let them know that the pizza didn't seem fresh and was really cold in the middle. The guy (yep the same guy) notes that "that's what happens to thin crust pizza's.."What?! It's 94 degrees outside and you can't bring me a hot pizza? Plus I've been ordering the same pizzas for the past 3 years! It's not been good but never ice cold! I asked to speak to the owner and the guy said he wasn't there. I asked to speak to the wife and the guy said she wasn't here today. What a min?! I just talked to her. He recanted and said the owner will be in later and I can call back. It has now become hit or miss when it comes to the quality of the pizza at Andolinis's as a whole. It use to be fresh, hot, with a crispy crust. The crust is just not the same anymore either. Placed my order for takeout over the phone. Order placed at 3:31pm. I walked in at 3:45. Two very friendly staff members greeted me. One took my payment and then went into the kitchen to package my order. The other kept chitchatting with me as I looked around. It was very clean and tidy and the refrigerator was well stocked with beverages. I peered into the kitchen which is visible from the cash register and it also seems very tidy and clean. Best kept secret in Ashburn? GPS may make it difficult to find...the shop faces the Loudoun County Parkway and is visible from it, FYI. Worth the trip. Apparently, it's a real family business serving great Italian food. Huge menu. Kids loved the pizza, and they've had many different options over the years so I'd call them pizza experts! The sauce is rich but not overpowering, crust is somewhat firm but not chewy. Well spiced and a good amount of cheese. But there's so much more. The stromboli was a dream...veggie stromboli, too. I finally got to try Andolini's after being curious about it for quite some time and truthfully, I'm a little let down- but there is hope. If you read my reviews, you will figure out that I'm an Italian guy and I have certain requirements of Italian restaurants and Andolini's and I always test them during my first visit by ordering chicken parmagiana sub. A good chicken parm consists of a BREADED chicken cutlet, pounded thin and Andolini's commits the same sin many restaurants in our area do and I know why they do it. They used a marinated, un-breaded chicken breast, smothered it in cheese and sauce and call it chicken parm- I assure you it is not. First of all, using a chicken breast that is marinated in something like Italian dressing, then mixing with marinara sauce just does not taste good at all, but restaurants do this because they can use that same chicken for other chicken dishes and sandwiches such as grilled chicken, chicken club, etc. they can also cut it up and put it on a salad- hard to do that with breaded chicken. It's too bad because Andolini's did almost everything else right on the sandwich- not too much sauce, enough cheese and the bread was good. Fix that and you have something quite good. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the kitchen, since it is wide open and very visible when you are at the counter. It's a great time to show off a clean kitchen but Andolini's had a lot of trash on the floor and it looked very messy and we almost turned and walked out but decided to stick it out. We ordered mozzarella sticks and they were fine, just the kind that come in a bag, frozen and then deep fried- they were not bad at all, cooked for the perfect amount of time. The pizza is decent, not the best and certainly not the worst. The crust may have been a little doughy for me, a little too thick but otherwise it was okay. Suggestions: Fix the chicken parm. Do not smother your spaghetti dishes in sauce- I fail to understand why restaurants do this. A true Italian cook will throw a ladle of sauce in a big pot of spaghetti, stir it and put the rest of the sauce in a bowl on the side so people could add the amount they want. Keep the kitchen clean! read more

Worst customer service! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with toasted bread and the guy on the phone said it would arrive toasted. Well 40 minutes later when the food arrives the sandwich did NOT arrive toasted and that's when I call to complain. I asked to talk to a manager and he said that I should've requested the bread, "toasted well done". He said that he'd send another one toasted but that I'd have to give back the one orginally delivered. In other words I'd have to wait even more time to eat! I toasted the original sandwich and ate since I was so hungry. If you make a mistake you acknowledge it and offer to fix it, but that's not what they did. Customers be ware that if you make a specific request and they make a mistake with it, they likely will not apologize and fix the order. Family owned, proudly owned, and customer focused. I have yet to call this restaurant and have a bad experience. Whomever answers the phone is extremely patient, and customer friendly. I have spoken with Christina many times and everytime I have such a feeling like I just ordered from a family member. I have been receiving brochures/menus in the mail from this restaurant forever and a day. Yesterday, I looked it over and the pictures of the food were so appealing that I ordered lunch for my wife and myself. We ordered a meatball sub and a steak and cheese sub. When the food came, we both too a bite of our respective subs and immediately spat out into the garbage. Both sandwiches upon inspection had some kind of cheap synthetic meat that tasted like crap. I was in the middle of an incredibly busy day so I could not call and complain but needless to say, we will NEVER order from them again. In the midst of COVID 19 pandemic, we have found so many great restaurants to order from that deliver excellent food. Two of them are Manhattan Pizza, and then Ashburn Pub. I am just a simple girl on the hunt for the BEST cheesesteak around. I wouldn't call myself a picky eater, but I hold my cheesesteaks to a certain standard. We've used Andolini's several times for large group lunches at our corporate training center in Ashburn, and they've never let us down. They don't shy away from accepting a large delivery order from us for 6-10 large pizzas, 2-3 large Greek salads, wings, cheesecake bites, brownie bites, and the occasional big sub for the non-pizza eaters in the group. What's more (and always important when dealing with a large and hungry group) is that the delivery is consistently prompt and the pizza and other hot items are delivered piping hot and oven-fresh. The salads are freshly put-together, with crisp romaine/iceberg blend, crispy raw veggies, dressing on the side, and just the right amount of crumbled feta on top. My favorite "surprise" about their salad is the sliced up stuffed grape leaves that garnish the top - I absolutely love grape leaves, and this is just the proverbial icing on the cake for me with Andolini's. The pizzas lean towards a thinner, New York-style, but aren't quite as chewy as many NY pizzas, but these pies definitely do the trick. I mean, we're not in NY, we're in Loudoun County, so anything other than Pizza Hut/Papa John's/Rubino's/Paisano's is a welcome change. The pizza choices are classic and popular - the cheese is always perfectly gooey, without being too greasy or heavy. The meats on the Meat Lover's are ample and not overly salty. The Veggie pizza is covered in fresh veggies that seem to have been par-boiled (that's a good thing) and aren't too soggy for the crust. As others have stated, phone customer service is great and orders have been consistently accurate and fresh. We will definitely continue to look to Andolini's for our crowd-feeding, people-pleasing, pizza-pie-noshing needs. read more

I've ordered from them 4 times now and have not been disappointed. Chicken Parmesan was better than anything I've had, dine-in or delivery. Club wrap was spectacular and they don't skimp on the meat/bacon. Stromboli was even better. I finally ordered a pizza tonight and it blows Mangino's, Brick Oven, Sal's, Paisano's, etc. out of the water. The "order takers" or whatever you want to call them are the clearest speaking people in Ashburn. That's a big plus.
