    Fish and Chips

Poolside spot at the Marriott. Very nice atmosphere with a solo artist performing during our lunch. It was very hot even under our umbrella. The turkey club came with fries and was excellent. The Fish & Chips was good but a bit overcooked. Food came with a lot of fries. Overall it was a nice experience.

Let's start with the food - there were a total of 10 of us in our party, and several said their food was good. If you're determined to eat here, things I recommend: The flatbread The cheeseburger The BBQ wings The desserts - but take note if ice cream doesn't come with it it's $3.00 extra ‍l What I highly recommend you stay away from: The bowl of pickles - they're sweet (but the menu doesn't say that) The Mahi tacos - the mahi is too salty and overcooked and the sauce is basically just mayonnaise; if they mixed something into it you can't taste it AT ALL! The salads - there's nothing special about them. OVERALL - it's a hotel restaurant so it's overpriced and the food, even the food dishes, aren't worth it in my opinion. If you want to spend real money on dinner there are plenty of other places within driving distance you can do that at. However, I'm giving this place 2 stars because the service wasn't good! There was our table, another couple inside, and perhaps some people dining outside (I couldn't tell) but if our server Ed (Edward) felt overwhelmed he should talk to his manager about getting him help. Edward was impatient, forgetful, and did not appreciate that we asked for one of the orders to be on a separate check. In fact, he asked us repeatedly if that's really what we wanted to do, even though we were upfront with him from the moment we ordered and continued to say yes each time he asked. And if it ended there then maybe I would've been more understanding. However, the next day, at the pool, which our entire party was enjoying we overhear Edward telling his manager how difficult we were and how he just "didn't need that". If you have difficult customers or were stressed and need to vent I understand, but there's a time and a place and in front of any patrons is NEVER the time or the place. That's just common sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm not offended. In fact, we laughed. But I think some proper workplace etiquette needs to be revisited.

Delicious and flavorful dinner tonight. The jerk wings were the best I've had in a very long time. They came out hot and juicy. My salad was a little over dressed, but the big, plump, tender shrimp plus buttery croutons made up for it. Craig was my amazing server. I'll be looking for him the whole weekend. Thanks for taking care of me, Craig!

After been here several times over several days for breakfast lunch dinner or cocktails I've moved it up to a five star It's not a five star because of the interior or that the food is so much better than any place else it's really good but I find a service here has really set the place apart very consistent very friendly and very motivated to provide good service

Stopped in for a quick lunch salads were amazing the tuna salad was Sushi style and was great the chicken salad was good

We set out by the pool on a beautiful sunny day ordered two salads and they came very quickly we ordered the chicken and the tuna salads The tuna sounded great it was oriental with buckwheat noodles was a little nervous about the carbs but very few noodles came with it it was really a cabbage salad with awesome dressing and fresh tuna tartare I would come back again just for that

Wow! The food and drinks definitely were better than expected! Prices are too terrible but definitely hotel prices. The fish tacos were by far the best and the fries holy mother of God so good! Love the patio too! Our server Ed was awesome and super attentive! Gonna be going back for more tacos!

Really hit or miss with staff but food wise, very disappointing, menu is misleading as is pricing for breakfast if you get the chance to be seated. Please see attached my $20 starter. Coming from the hospitality industry, very disappointed.

I'm obsessed with this restaurant's fish! My husband and I celebrated our ten year anniversary with dinner here and a weekend stay at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa, which this restaurant is located within. Since fish is in the name of the spot, I figured I would order the salmon. Our server Craig was probably the nicest, most hospitality-focused server I've met in years, and he even brought us glasses of complimentary champagne and greeted us with a "happy anniversary" because I had booked the reservation in Open Table and marked it as our anniversary celebration. The salmon was insanely good, and the chef made it low carb at my request by substituting double veggies (broccoli and roasted tri-color mini carrots) instead of just a rice pilaf and one veggie the fish was supposed to come with. My husband ordered a classic margarita and quesadilla and was very happy with his dish, too. In short, I highly recommend this place in Pompano!!

Our favorites were the catch of the day shrimp, Cajun fries, Korean barbecue meatballs and Philly cheesesteak. So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

Our server, Jula, had a visible attitude from the moment she approached the table. The most frustrating part was the lack of basic communication. We asked to adjust an umbrella for the sun; our server spoke with the manager, who looked directly at us, said something, and then simply walked away. The woman followed suit without ever giving us an answer. We understand it was busy due to the Jazz Fest, but being flat-out ignored is not a valid excuse. There are too many dining options in Pompano to waste time and money on a place that treats customers like an inconvenience. We avoided this business for the rest of our trip and won't be returning.

For dinner, he got the honey chicken Sammy with sidewinder fries, and I went with the chimmichurri steak frites with curly fries... SO good. Everything came out piping hot, quickly, and you can tell the food and drinks are really thoughtfully crafted. What stood out most, though, was the customer service. The three main staff members Drew, Mel, and Darian (I think?) were incredible. Every single one of them went above and beyond for every guest the entire time. When we arrived, there were just a couple tables outside, but once it started raining, they seamlessly accommodated everyone inside without missing a beat. The vibe is such a cool mix, neighborhood spot meets speakeasy meets tiki with a slightly elevated feel, but still super comfortable. Everyone in the place seemed to know each other or quickly became friends. The music was great, and by 7:30 the live entertainment started, he was funny, engaging, and talented. We got there just in time to catch the tail end of happy hour for our first drink, and from there it just kept getting better. Drew, the bartender, even went out of his way to make me a specialty drink I had seen on Yelp that's no longer on the menu, such a thoughtful touch. By 7:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed, which says everything. Exceptional service, amazing food, great drinks, and an all around fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back.

You ever open a drink menu and immediately realize... yeah, you're not leaving anytime soon?…read more That was me at Twice Removed Gastropub. Because this isn't one of those places where you scan the menu, shrug, and say "I'll just take a beer." No no. This is the kind of spot where every cocktail sounds like it has a backstory... and you suddenly trust the bartender more than yourself. Creative. Unique. Actually delicious. Not just trying to be different for the sake of it. These drinks land. And if cocktails aren't your thing, don't worry... the beer and cider lineup is deep. Drafts, bottles, cans... it's like they said, "Why limit happiness?" And honestly? That's the tone of the whole place. Welcoming. Comfortable. The kind of vibe where you could show up for one drink and accidentally solve all your life problems over three. Now let's talk food. Because this is where things get interesting... in a good way, mostly. The meatballs? Legit. The kind that make you pause mid-conversation just to acknowledge what's happening. The poutine... I mean, I'm legally obligated to say it... poutine routine. Couldn't resist. And thankfully, neither should you. It delivers. The sliders? Cooked perfectly. Juicy, balanced, exactly what you want. But... There's a small twist in the plot. That bacon jam. Someone in the kitchen is in love. And I respect it. But they might be a little too generous. It leans heavy. Not a dealbreaker, just a "whoa, okay, I see you" moment. Micro twist? You'll say you're full... and then still find yourself reaching for one more bite like it owes you money. Here's the bottom line. Twice Removed Gastropub knows exactly what it is. Great drinks. Solid food. A place that feels easy the second you walk in and even harder to leave. Four stars. And one of those spots you quietly hope doesn't get too popular... because you're already planning your next visit.
