I also ordered a side of hummus and some pita bread which really satisfied the craving I've been having for hummus lately. While we waited for order, we looked around the shop. We bought some baklava and cookies both of which were incredible. When our order was ready we picked it up and checked out at the cashier line. The parking lot seemed a bit shady though but all in all I did not have a bad experience here. At self-checkout, there was an old lady that just finished checking out and I guess started walking away. The staff supervising that area darted quickly at her and reminded her bluntly to remember to get her receipt muttering something about "so you don't complain later" or something in that vein. While I applaud the thought, I don't know if the method of delivery was necessary. It is what it is.

Jose answered the phone with a great attitude, he even when to go check the freezer case to make sure the item was available. It was such a joy to have interaction with a positive employee, since this store is known for rudeness. Later this afternoon I made my drive to Kroger to purchase my groceries. I spoke to Jose in person, and told him he made my day. What was another disappointment, was I waited 15 minutes to speak with the manager, but he never came to the front of the store. You see, I wished to give an employee compliment on Jose. Thanks Jose for being excellent!

The hours on the door said it opens at 6 am and closes at 11 pm. Don't trust the hours on yelp but always call before going. This happened when looking for another place and the hours were wrong. Plus the cafe has really good food. We always get pizza and it's great quality for a great price. They also have a playground for little ones. Shopping at Central Market is truly a one of a kind experience and I always leave feeling excited about the new and unique things they have. They frequently have special events and themes too. More expensive that San Diego prices which kind of surprised me. I ended up getting a hamburger. The chef was very nice, friendly, made me laugh. He built me a fantastic bleu bonnet burger. It was tasty, flavorful, filling. It was cooked a little more than I would normally want, but still yummy. the Brioche Bun was good, but did fall apart a little bit. Maybe warming it on the grill had something to do with that. I went with a combo that included a drink cup for the help yourself drink station. The drink station had interesting flavors I have never seen before, and some old standards like coke, diet coke, sprite. The combo also included crinkle cut fries. They were warm, golden brown, delicious but they were a little overdone. Definitely needed some ketchup to help eat them. The staff at the checkout lines were smiling, laughing, friendly, and when they had to check out one of their coworkers, you could see the strong camaraderie amongst the employees.
