Crack Cocaine.... I'm hooked! Must have driven by 1000 times, but on my visit to Elliot's in the same shopping center I was leaving and the CCCP market caught my eye. Went in and looked around, spoke with the owners and then suddenly I got it. Visions of USA vs Russia hockey games years ago with CCCP on their jerseys finally made the connection. This small shop is the BOMB! So many special treats, many of which are similar to our Eastern European heritage. One which must be highlighted is the sliced salami. It has an official and correct name that you can see on my receipt... but whatever it is called it is awesome, I can't stop eating it and am thinking about how and when I can get over there to get some more. I just visited CCCP Market first time yesterday. What can I say... coming from LA where we had variety of different stores that provided home made food. I am quite shocked after trying a quite a few things from this market. The only nice part about this place (and that's why I gave this place 2 stars) was friendliness of the owners. As for the food (and I am not talking here about factory pre pack food) I am talking about cooked food by the CCCP market. The quality is so low and cooking skills are so poor I couldn't believe it. -The chicken kebab was so dry and tasted bad, like it was rotten. - The beets salad was undercooked and tasted almost bitter. Never in my life I had such a bad tasting beet salsas. - Pastry with cheese ( ) - was stale and the cheese was hard. Plus it was so little cheese on top - dealt like I am back in USSR - I guess the name speaks for itself. - My favorite cake - Napoleon- oh man... what a disaster. Like seriously... never tried Napoleon cake that awful and no I am not exaggerating... it's just horrible. Dry. Not even one cream layer inside. It was just coated with cream and sugar powder (tasted like pure sugar on the outside) plus cream tasted like pure butter with some sugar adder for sweetener. Like wow! - Blintz with cheese - dry, flat barely any cheese inside and pretty tasteless. :/ The ONLY THING that tasted good from my purchase was - Samsa with meat. that was worth buying. But it was quite pricey. Well... everything was waaay more expensive that LA which I understand, but after spending $100 and managed to keep barely any of the freshly cooked food. (Most of it went straight to trash) It's quite a disappointment. I am not sure how this place has 5 stars... maybe they changed the cool recently do to pandemic, or it's just friends and family reviews, but this place is pure disappointment. read more

The owner is great and very helpful. They make a lot of dishes in their store in case you want some prepared traditional Russian and Armenian dishes. I typically go to purchase fish for Russian beet salad as well as Kvac and pyelmeni. Nice selection of caviar as well. read more

This is a very clean and nice Russian market. Everything is in Russian so you will need assistance if you're like me. But not only is the owner friendly but so are the customers. I have never been inside a store like this and it was very interesting. I really love this little place. Its small but what they have is nice and well organized. I'm not Russian but the staff do seem more than happy to answer your questions. They also have pre-made food to buy fresh and from the frozen section for your convenience. I really want to try their frozen pelmini. Really curious if frozen vareniki is any good. Next time I'm in going to ask if they have any candies that are liquor infused. Also they have this really pretty box of Belarusian chocolate that's so tempting looking everytime I come in.
