I've driven by this salon many times and always noticed it never seemed busy--now I understand why. First impressions: the salon itself looks nice and is bigger than I expected. However, when I asked about prices, the woman at the front desk quoted me $90 just for a gel manicure (no extensions, just gel) plus the cost of a pedicure. I was honestly shocked. I even asked, "Is that for both?" and she said no, it's $90 for the manicure alone. When I mentioned that other salons charge around $100 for both, her response was, "Well, you can go to the other place." That should have been my cue to leave, but my toes were in desperate need of a pedicure, so I went ahead with just the pedi for $35. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, the result was terrible. The ironic part? The manicurist even used an extra light to see my feet--and still did a job that looked like it was done in the dark. Long story short: don't waste your time or money here. Go to the salon in the same building instead. Rushed and lazy pedicure. Didn't feel like they had any pride in their work. Massage was not at all good. Towel was cold. Only 1 coat of polish, no top coat, no checking on us as the toes dried. They literally finished in 10 minutes and moved on. It is already chipped after 1 day, when a pedicure usually lasts me 4+ weeks. Thought I'd give it another try.....horrible gel manicure. Filing on top of my nails uneven. Rather than evening out the length of my nails the same, the gal left one nail that was cracked, polished over. I'm not sure who was more frustrated, me or her. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a nail salon. They hand you off from person to person and the work is simply sloppy. They want to get as many people in and out as possible. I had the owner do my fill (which she over charged me for - according to her listed prices). She rushed through it, left my edges of my acrylics razor sharp after I had asked her for rounded ones. I think my pinkies were rounded. She asked me to wash my hands, and I thought she was going to round and buff them... NOPE!!! I got sent to another person who did the color. The color looked awful because there was no finishing on the nail. It was almost as if she thought I wouldn't notice the sharp edged and rough top of my nail. We came in a group for Pedis. No customers were there upon arrival and had the whole place to ourselves. Here are my thoughts and experience: 1. Spacious and clean 2. Built in massage chair was a saving grace 3. Water was piping hot and so were the towels. I would have like a heads up before she told me to put my feet in the running water. I usually prefer it hot but this was a tad bit of a shock since it was scorching. It wasn't until my reaction when I dipped my feet in, to quickly pop it right back out which signaled for cold water. 4. Unfortunately, other then sprinkles of English spoken, the translations didn't quite match what was being relayed. How do I know? Because, I understand. COMPLETELY. God forbid to let them know right then there I knew what those giggles were really about lol. I'm going to leave it at that. 5. Other then the extra service for a polish strip removal which took a whole 3 min, when I turned down the up-sale for an elevated pedi it was a much faster rush job from there. There was two minutes between coats and my big toe nail polish smeared from her brushing up against it from rushing. She asked the other nail tech to add a clear top coat on one of my toes but didn't indicate which one. But, it wasn't the smeared one though. This is regular nail polish, not shellac not dip powder. It's been a while I had just regular nail polish applied, but we all understand the drying time process. After they put everything away and the lady who was a "translator" picked up my sandals to put them on me. I kindly asked her if that was it? She said yep that's it. I was but I shouldn't have been too surprised that my nail tech or anyone else didn't do a QC. I showed her where my big toe was visibly smudged and she quickly slapped on some top coat. At that point, I didn't bother about mentioning the disparity of the two big toe colors. This is not one of those rapid fast drying top coats. Maybe they were trying to get our party done at the same time. Idk... but she kept my kicks on when she slapped that top coat on. 6. I would have given this 3 stars and I'm being generous when I say that. I'm rating it based on our group rating so in totality 4 stars. Also, keep in mind everyone had their own nail tech as did I. Even if it was for literally a hot second before she speedy gonzales away... 7. Fortunately, my personal experience having been to many nail salons in my lifetime as well as doing my own nails I know what's proper and not. My lady did indeed hurry to attend to someone who just came to the pedi chair. I can understand if there was an appointment in place. However, as I mentioned that before she ditched me she tried to cover up my big toes with another coat of clear polish to mask the smudge. She also got some pigmented nail polish on my skin as well. She left the big toes other one with a lighter pigment and the other darker lol. She dabbed clear nail polish on my skin and tried to wipe off the pigment with her fingers instead of using acetone or nail polish remover but the pigment and clear polish remained on the top of my feet. Unsuccessful removal. I understand when clear polish is used for remover for a substitute it is done so when your in a pinch for when you don't have it. She used remover to remove my nail strips earlier, are they rationing out the acetone?! Other pro nail techs would use a dab of nail polish remover or acetone where the smudge was and dabbed their finger to even out the surface, use the pigmented polish before applying a top coat. Instead of slapping some top coat on the smudge alone. It's nails, I can live with it. I'm reluctant to come back. I felt like I was almost being duped or on an episode of wwyd? I'm hoping they read this and can improve from my feedback. I really did enjoy being able to bond as a group. Still tipped. Still stayed composed and kind regardless of what was going on. *Tip to business and will provide only one: If you care about client/customer retention, please don't hurry them in, to then hurry out and huddle them up to push them out lol. P.S. I noticed after I submitted this review, the star rating went up still. We didn't read any reviews prior to coming here. I'm reading a good amount now. I should have looked at the reviews first. I am never a Karen, but I have to be with this I got my nails done here- and first of all she snapped at me over my mask that was already on my face... snapping at me to pull it farther up my face. I got acrylics with regular polish with French tips, they do not look they have a proper top coat on, I didn't receive any portion of a manicure. She went immediately in with glue and acrylic powder. They are so sharp on the edges. She didn't check if they were dry, she shoved my hand down then blamed me for the nail polish smudging and getting on the table They were incredibly rude with customer service as well, being passive aggressive. I was over charged and will NEVER return. I want my money back. I will be calling tomorrow to demand a refund. read more

I will keep looking for a nail salon. I came here with another person. I received okay service. My nails do not look great. But the other person was being handled by the person who answered the phones, seating people, and running all other jobs a front desk person should do while doing my friends service. While I received a massage with my pedicure, my friend did not. While I received a hot towel, my friend did not. There was no sense that the practitioner (neither mine and certainly not my friend's) had any presence or intention. We felt like we were a bother. We received manicures as well. Again, my friend did not even have her cuticles pushed back. I am highly disappointed. Our nails look like an 8 year old did them. It's almost Christmas, and all the other salons are fully booked until January so I was surprised to find availability with this one. That's a bad sign though. It means that nobody wants to go there, and based on the other reviews here, it's because of their service (and poor skills with nails, but I didn't even come in for that so I'll leave that up for the other reviewers of this site). I totally understand language barriers exist. It applied to this situation. But as with all language barriers, you gotta have more patience just to understand each other. As this was my first time going to Amy's Nails and knowing others have had positive opinions here, I can only document my own one-time negative experience, rather than the business as a whole. From those I know, as well as other reviewers, I can sum it up to a lot depends on the nail tech you get. My daughter and I went in, without appointments; she for shellac manicure, me for SNS. From the start, the woman that was assigned to me seemed angry and out of sorts. I felt very uncomfortable from the get go. Once she determined I had SNS on, which needed to be removed, she was just short of hostile towards me. I'm not sure what triggered her, as I was polite and friendly, actually pretty excited to be there, but the man assigned to my daughter had to speak to her to calm her down. I understand having a bad day, but this was outright unprofessional. And weird. She became very irritated that I was not doing the right thing when it came to removal. My fingers were put in two bowls of, what I assume is acetone and very hot water along with a chunk of cotton. I've never had it removed this way, only cotton soaked in acetone and wrapped in foil. No explanation or direction, just angry gestures, eye rolling and huffing off. During the visit, the tech barely spoke to me. That is, until she decided to clarify their cash-only tip policy. I have used SNS on my nails for about a year and have never had a bad experience at other salons. I love the product, ease of application and wear. I had chosen a gray color with lavender undertone, which I have worn in the past. When the color was going on it looked really pink. When I asked about it, the tech said it was the color I chose. As she continued, both my daughter and myself asked if the color was going to change because it definitely wasn't the color I chose. The tech then began to argue with me, insisting the color was fine and "a nice tone". I went and got the color chart to show her the color I picked that she had confirmed. It was obviously not the same color. She then proceeded to tell me that the colors often turn out differently, it happens to many people, "you're not the only one" and, my personal favorite, "I know you don't like it, but it's not my fault". I was speechless. We aren't talking a couple of shades off, it's an entirely different color. And, yes, these are first world problems, so to speak, but I am paying (actually my daughter was treating me) nearly fifty dollars! At this point, I just wanted to get out of there. There was no kindness, no apology and certainly no effort to correct the wrong. This person was unprofessional, angry and so rude. I was just about in tears by the time I got out of there and truly do not understand what warranted this behavior. There are many, many, many, many nail salons in this area. I would highly recommend people to think carefully about how they would like to be treated, the quality of service they are comfortable receiving and how they choose to spend their hard-earned money. I aim to be kind and polite to those I meet and, having worked years in customer service, know how valuable this is for a business. It can make or break you, as we customers have choices. My choice is to never, ever go back to Amy's Nails. read more

Update on my previous review- the owner or manager here is so gracious and sweet. She looked at my nails falling off and did tell me that if you have very very short nails to begin with acrylics fall off faster and promptly got me a nail technician (wish i got her name) who gave me a brand new set. The nail tech did a great job and did not rush at all and just totally fixed my nails. Good to know that they are willing to rectify situations and help find a solution. I love this nail place. It's very big so it doesn't feel crowded. Most of the employees are really sweet. I went with 2 friends and one friend was just there waiting for us not having anything done. They pulled up a chair for her and gave her a water and were super accommodating. I got the sns dip and it turned out wonderful they have great color selections. The only thing I don't like is how they remove your old dip. You have to put your fingers in a bowl of acetone which really dries out your skin as opposed to using just the cotton ball of acetone on your nail like normal. It definitely removed the polish more quickly but I would rather spend longer having the polish removed without drying out my fingers. Overall it was a really fun experience and they did a great job so I'm sure I will go back. read more

I usually don't do a lot of reviews but this one I had to do. So literally 10 minutes ago tried going to this place as usual for a pedicure and the owner said that she will not do a service to me! I was like, are you guys closed? No she said, we just refuse to do a service to you! I go why, because "your wife demanded either money back or nails redone about 1 month ago when she took 3 8-10 year old girls there". I was like, are you serious. My wife did take daughter and her 2 girlfriends for a treatment, paid $83 for their service and the next day the nail polish came off, so she came in and asked for money back because they don't live close to the salon. Instead she said they will only paint the nails but won't do a refund. Obviously their quality sucks, and the owner is very rude and bitter. I just read a few reviews and people complained about the service they've been getting there and it is horrible to say the least. If you are looking for a dependable nail salon in the area, my suggestion don't go here because you will be pissed at the end of the day and then you will regret that you didn't listen. read more

It's a large space, you don't feel cooped up, and they did a wonderful quality job with my manicure and pedicure. Other salons rush it, which I don't like, not this one. Everyone here is very nice (they offer bottled water and if there's a wait they are honest about it) but in regards to the execution of services, this place is rarely a hit and mostly a miss. Sometimes I get a really good detailed pedicure but like today, it was a rushed sloppy job.My technician barely trimmed my cuticles and I sat in the chair in luke warm paraffin wax (mind you the tech shoved my feet in the bags and walked away) for 20 minutes before the owner hastily painted them. The tech who did my manicure had to fix them for me and did a very detailed, great gel manicure. If only they could have done my pedicure too! I really like this place, it's glamorous and really clean and they do my manicure spot on with dip powder. They are the first salon that recommended I try dip powder and I'm hooked. The employees always seem friendly with each other and always joking around which I like, because I think it makes for a good environment. My nails are always done really well, there is never any polish out of place. I only wish one thing was different--I wish when you walked in they said hi nicely and came within speaking distance instead of yelling really loudly across the room and making everyone in the salon look up at you. read more

I've been coming here for years...and every time I've tried someplace else, I come running back! This is no sub-par establishment. It's very clean, nicely designed, and every tech is very good at what they do. The quality of services is much higher than I'd expect, given the very affordable price point. Amy and her staff love to throw in little extras like free shoulder massages during nail services, and paraffin treatments during your pedicure. A quick story: I left an expensive pair of sunglasses at the salon once. I'd given up looking for them, but when I walked into the salon probably two months later Amy immediately handed them to me. She had kept them safe in a drawer, and they were in perfect condition. This kind of thing should be the rule, but in my experience it is often the exception. read more

Great experience. I haven't been to Amy's since they were at their old location, this is such a nice upgrade. My nails looked great the first few days, now they are lifting on the top corners of a few nails. I was so happy with my nails the first few days but now I'm bummed. I loved my experience at Amy's! My thoughtful and experienced technician was Vicky. She provided a back and hand massage and hot towel all before a thorough manicure. I went on Friday during the early afternoon. I love the large windows since it's across the street from some lovely evergreen trees.
