However, when I asked about prices, the woman at the front desk quoted me $90 just for a gel manicure (no extensions, just gel) plus the cost of a pedicure. I was honestly shocked. I even asked, "Is that for both?" and she said no, it's $90 for the manicure alone. When I mentioned that other salons charge around $100 for both, her response was, "Well, you can go to the other place." That should have been my cue to leave, but my toes were in desperate need of a pedicure, so I went ahead with just the pedi for $35. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, the result was terrible. The ironic part? The manicurist even used an extra light to see my feet--and still did a job that looked like it was done in the dark. Long story short: don't waste your time or money here. Go to the salon in the same building instead. I had even planned to grab food at the Banh Mi place afterward (which is amazing, by the way), but the experience here completely ruined my appetite.

Pixie Lab - Meet our team

Pixie Lab is an absolute gem - they somehow make a nail appointment feel like a mini retreat…read more From the moment you sit down, they pamper you with complimentary drinks and snacks, from coffee and tea to light treats that make the whole experience feel extra thoughtful and relaxing. The studio itself is clean, modern, and cozy, so it really feels like you can switch off for a bit while they take care of you. What really stands out, though, is the level of detail in their work. They specialize in Russian manicure and structured gel, and it shows in how precise, careful, and long-lasting the results are - your nails come out looking flawless and stay that way for weeks. Every cuticle is perfected, every edge is smooth, and they take their time to get the shape and finish exactly right. It's the perfect place to get your nails "tuned up" - whether you're maintaining a classic look or trying something more elevated, you walk out feeling polished and a little bit spoiled. I'd happily recommend Pixie Lab and specifically Veronika, who gave me home care tips and helped me treat a problem.

The appointment took around 2.5 hours, and I liked the final color and overall look of the nails. The salon itself is very clean and has a luxury/self-care vibe. As soon as I walked in, they offered me a complimentary fancy drink and a small treat, which was such a nice touch. They also have iPads available during the service, so I ended up watching Emily in Paris while getting my nails done. What impressed me the most was their cleanliness. After each customer, they thoroughly cleaned everything with Clorox wipes, including the desk, chairs, and surrounding area. As a first-time customer, they also gave me 10% off plus a cute little gift bag with cuticle oil, hand cream, and nail care instructions. The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I expected a little more attention to detail for a professional service at this level. A couple of nails had small imperfections. For example, one thumb wasn't fully covered near the edges and part of it looked matte, almost like the top coat didn't fully seal the edge. One other nail also had a slightly uneven surface. They're small details, but noticeable up close. Overall though, I enjoyed the experience, loved the atmosphere, and would consider coming back again to try other technicians.

At the end of the service, she told me that if anything broke within 7 days, I could return for a free fix. By Monday night, one nail had broken and there was visible damage to the tips of several others. I called Tuesday and was told to come in and that my manicure would be redone at no charge. However, when I returned Wednesday, I was informed after the service that I would need to pay full price because the employee I spoke to was new and hadn't documented anything about a break or fix in my profile. After some back and forth, they offered $20 off due to their internal miscommunication. At that point, I chose to pay and leave rather than continue debating their policies and communication issues. That is not something a customer should have to navigate. Clear policies, proper staff training, and communication are the responsibility of ownership and management. If I had known I would be charged again, I would not have come back at all. It's not reasonable to pay for two manicures in less than five days. I would expect my nails to last at least two weeks. Due to the inconsistent communication and unclear policies, I will not be returning to y2 nails.

You do need to book / make reservations. But I enjoy pedicures here. I've tried a lot of gel polishes here for manicures too. They don't last too long but they are pretty right after. And free parking! Plus they can do 5-7 people at once. To book 6 pedicures at a salon these days at the same time is a hard task! I appreciate the consistency! Plus, who doesn't love getting mani-pedi!

Unfortunately, things at Dashing have gone steeply downhill. My sister and I came for pedicures…read moreover the weekend and everything looked as I remembered. However, the chair I sat in (water was already on and I had had my feet in the tub for a couple minutes at this point) wasn't actually working properly as the tub jets weren't functioning. I was asked to move to another chair. That's no big deal. But then, my sister's chair wouldn't move backward or actually turn on the massage function. We asked if we weren't using it right, but they ended up pressing a switch at the foot of the tub that we couldn't see and her seat started working... for like 5 minutes. It turned off after that and she had to ask repeatedly for it to be turned back on. Turns out, same exact thing for my chair. Also, the plastic of my remote was broken and the seats even when working were so weak it was pointless. The massage chair is one of the best parts of a pedicure, IMO. Oh, and the cover of the jet popped off while I was using it and splashed water everywhere. Woo. But to top all of this off- our pedicures which were priced on the fee sheet as $54 came to a whopping $76! When I asked the girl that checked us out to clarify, she said it was because we got gel. An extra $22 for gel!? And not a single word of this up charge? Yeah, nah. So I left with an $85 pedicure and a back that had no pleasure of massage. Wah wah. We will not return.
