Just got back from Amuni, wow! Such a cool place. My wife comes from Sicily and she loved it. Very authentic and delicious Sicilian food. The owner even speaks in italian and was just a great experience overall. A really nice addition to the neighborhood, I hope will be a part for years to come. I love Amuni! It was such a wonderful surprise when I discovered this place in Bay Ridge this month! Not only is it a cozy, spotless, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, but the menu was pleasantly unique for an Italian restaurant! It's delicious, authentic, Sicilian food (like any Italian Mama would make, Even my Neapolitan relatives)...and I was amazed when I'd seen my aunt's traditional recipe on their menu! Fried cardune! I have never seen that tasty vegetable dish on a menu in all of my life, and the last time I had it was when she cooked it for our family each Christmas in the 1970s! Sfincioni had a great texture, crisp bottom, airy middle, rich sauce, perfect toppings. If you want authentic, make sure to ask for anchovies, they chop them in the sauce as it should be. We put in a $100 order on Sunday morning, their app:website ordering portal- slice -allowed us to pay for it. 10 minutes after there opening at 11a, they said they were closed for the day. Vincent and his staff were very accommodating and super friendly. Everyone from my baby shower couldn't stop raving about Amuni and the overall event. Love this spot! Perfectly located in Bay Ridge. A 10 minute car ride for me and we were transported to a little restaurant in Sicily. We have ordered take out in the past and were never disappointed. We decided to do my sons birthday dinner here and take advantage of the outdoor area where our entire family would be safe and comfortable. The food is delicious. Service was incredible. We found this great place today! Everything about it was perfect. From the atmosphere to the menu, to the actual food and conversation. This is a 5 star find. We went for lunch and had an experience. Let me say that the food was authentic sicilian. The wines pair perfectly with the food. Hearty and full of flavor. The owner Vincent was present and actually served us himself. The homemade spicy sausage with fresh roasted peppers and onions on a freshly baked artisan roll was incredible. Bold and full of flavor. My wife had the breaded chicken cutlet sandwich. We have greatly enjoyed the food from Amuni over the past year and never found the owner any less than courteous. We would have gladly given Amuni five stars except that each time we've picked up our order or walked by in the past six months we can clearly see the owner answering phones and the chef in the kitchen are not wearing masks. I picked up my last order from them two weeks ago and even when (politely!) handing me my bag of food the owner did not wear a mask. Really unfortunate. Masks have to be worn, correctly, all the time now. We've had the Panelle sandwich several times, excellent in every way. We've also had the breaded chicken sandwich as well as the meatless rice balls and fried artichoke appetizers. All excellent. Please start wearing masks and keeping them on, and we'll revise to five stars!! read more

My friends and I had a great experience here! This was our first time trying it. We've all walked by it many times and finally decided to give it a try, and we are very glad we did. The outside patio is absolutely lovely. That in itself made us love the place. We shared two pizzas, the fried artichokes, the mixed grilled vegetables, and the mini cannoli. All delicious. Next time we will get the Sicilian pizza without the anchovies as we felt that the anchovies were a bit overpowering, but still delicious (the anchovy is optional). Very authentic Sicilian offerings--loved how they have many small dishes like caponata, carciofi (fried, light, super lemony), arancini, a pizza with no cheese but anchovies and toasted crumbs on top. Not chichi--but tasty and true to the ingredients like good Italian food should be. Staff super informative and courteous, family tree on the wall. Just was in Palermo in 2020 and this street food was on point but more consistently good with higher quality ingredients. Need to go back to check out more of the menu!
