This review is for their BAKERY ONLY. The Colombian baked goods here are phenomenal. The pan de bono is perfectly chewy and buttery, with the right amount of cheesiness inside. The empanadas are also really yummy. I find the actual food to be really sub-par, and would not recommend eating here (lots of burnt, crispy, fried foods with no flavor and hard to chew because of how badly burnt it is) but I highly recommend the bakery for true Colombian baked treats. This is small quaint bakery/restaurant. The store front is split into two sections, one side is the restaurant and the other is a bakery and kitchen with a few seatings. The bakery section is also where you order to go. The ladies working there are very nice. Disappointed that they didn't have any ice cream or fruits available from their menu. Here's what I ordered and my thoughts on it: Chicken and beef empanadas $2.90 each The shell is harder and the inside is filled with meat and mashed up potatoes. It came with two sauces. One mild and one was spicy. The shell had a much harder exterior than most empanadas and the filling tasted well seasoned and I enjoyed it. Chorizo $6 this come with one piece of chorizo and a piece of yuca frita. Very delicious and not overly salty. Tamal Tolimense Tolima Region Tamale $16.00 This was supposed to be star of the meal. Very disappointed that the meat in it was very dry and not flavorful. The masa on the other hand was soft and flavorful. The meat tasted like left over meat that was boiled. Definitely not recommending this dish. Tre leche $6 This cake was delicious. Definitely on the sweeter side. The highlight of this place is the chorizo and the empanadas. I always like to come here for empanadas and a jugo de morra when I'm in the neighborhood. I recently had the tres leche and for $6 I expected it to rock my world, which it successfully did. I wasn't e impressed with how close their bathroom is to the kitchen but then again this spot is really small. This place is disgusting and a complete ripoff. I ordered the arepas with chorizo and Chicharron. The arepa had no flavor, the guacamole was so salty , chicharron was stale, and the chorizo was okay. To top it off there was a hair on my plate. I throw everything out and yet they want to charge $15&$18 for this garbage. I would not recommend this place. Also, notice the price difference between Uber eats and what was charged when I called in the order for a pickup. Presentation was just thrown together. The food here is amazing. I usually get their breakfast platter with includes rice, beans, plantains, sausage, crispy pork, steak and avocado. The beans are incredibly flavorful and I would eat that with rice on its own. It's a bit pricey but plenty of food and shareable. Their empanadas are also top notch and not the typical empanada crust you would expect. It seems to be from masa and super oily but in a good way. read more

I normally give a good tip for delivery so this is not an issue about tip. it is wrong to charge a mandatory tip without informing the customer. I would not suggest coming to this restaurant. I have eaten a lot of columbian food in my life, since my boyfriend grew up in Cali, Colombia. This food although not the worse was definitely far form the best. Some of the food was burnt and not really edible or definitely different from the traditional version. Although the beans I did really enjoy. The inside has a few tables and has terrible ambiance. We decided to eat their and they brought the food to the table, but it was not like a normal restaurant where you get water and they check on you. To get the check we had to wait about 35 minutes even though we were the only people there. The ladies were in the back and never came out to the front. After waiting forever to get the check, the worst part is that the prices on the menu and board are NOT what they charge you. I split a meal with a friend and got another small dish and the bill was over 40 dollars. NOT WORTH IT. The prices they charged were definitely higher then we saw on the menu. On top of all of that they charged a 15% tip automatically. I did not see that comming and this was more like a fast food restaurant then a sit down place. Plus the service was terrible sitting and waiting forever just for a check with no water or service. There are so many other amazing latin restaurants in sunset park.
