Vero Amore... this is definitely not my true love. My first visit was a month ago and the lasagna was very bland. Decided to give it one more try recently and again disappointed. This is an Italian restaurant that does NOT bring bread to your table...they do NOT have Italian sausage! They DO use canned mushrooms very little of their ingredients are fresh and it shows. They have a create your own pizza but have no ingredients listed to choose from. The calamari is salty and over cooked. My 12 year old nephew ordered fettuccini alfredo and he said it was bland, it was. He salted it and it still didn't help much. I'm surprised this place is still there and validates that this area is in dire need of something new.....something good. read more

Yesterday, June 11, 2019, a group of ladies, I among them, had lunch at the Dove Mountain location of Vero Amore. Sadly, from one who used to frequent the original Vero Amore located next to Bashas on Swan and loved it, I was beyond disappointed. Many of us ordered the Chicken Panini; after waiting quite a while, our lunch platters arrived. What was suppose to pass for a panini, turned out to be cold pita bread, with romaine lettuce w/ a bit of Caesar dressing, a tiny bit of chopped tomato and a few bite size pieces of bland chicken. To say our meals were awful, is an understatement. Also, a week ago, I had occasion to lunch at the Swan location of Vero Amore. My friend and I both ordered a salad with a small serving of my old favorite, bow tie Pasta Pomodoro. Although the menu indicated the pasta would be served with a "splash" of white wine, the taste of wine was so overpowering, that the pasta was not edible. Ate here twice for lunch. The restaurant is so cozy. Great service & great food! The first day I ordered the salad/sandwich lunch special. For $9 I received a giant pepperoni panini sandwich that was filled with veges with a side caesar salad. The second day I ordered the pizza special of the day. It was delicious- it had pepperoni, mushrooms, banana peppers, lettuce, and i think it had balsamic vinaigrette on top. I also ordered a pistachio gelato! The servers are friendly & attentive. Ate here for the first time. Had the Chicken Picatta for lunch. It was to die for! Just the right lemon in a light wine cream sauce, accented with capers. Chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Also, came with a cup of pasta with just the right amount of a creamy red sauce. Very nice to enjoy two complimentary flavors in one meal. Only improvement I would make is the addition of a vegetable. My meal seemed to need sauteed asparagus or fresh green beans to round it out. The place is very intimate, pleasant, modern decor and the service was impeccable. Was there to enjoy a "catch up" lunch with a favorite friend. We stayed for at least a couple of hours and we're not rushed out. The price was a bit higher than I usually pay for lunch, but very reasonable, considering the quality of our experience. Delicious wood-fire oven pizza. Really appreciate their non-traditional toppings and combinations. You must try their daily specials. We even enjoyed their mussels dish as it had a fantastic sauce. The interior design seems a bit indiscriminately put together because there does not appear to be a flow/purpose to the layout/decor. Love, love, love this restaurant! The bread is a must! It's round, soft and baked to perfection. The chicken sausage is incredibly tasting. My husband and I don't eat pork so it was nice to have a alternative option. It was a bit spicy and just perfect. The pizza is wonderful. The ambiance is nice and lighting is perfect. Amazing Italian food. Tastes like Italy, loved the service atmosphere and music. Waiter was polite and very knowledgeable of the menu.

The food was delicious, the wine selection was appropriate for the prices. During one of the two dining experiences I have had, our young waiter forgot to enter an entree order for a person at our table and did not realize until we asked about their plate - it was not a full house that night. We were sitting on the patio and there were kitchen and wait staff exiting and entering the back kitchen door, being very loud. I come from a service industry background so I pay attention to the staff quite a bit and also do my very best to be a considerate and understanding diner. I will definitely come back for another meal. I hope the owner and manager find this review helpful. read more

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and have always had a great experience until tonight. The service was sooooooo bad our party didn't want to leave a tip. It took us forever to order, she got half the orders wrong, never came to ask if we needed another drink (we had to get her attention), she got the drink orders wrong, my husband got the wrong meal and didn't get the one he ordered until the end (he had to take it home because the rest of us had already eaten), the bills were wrong, and her attitude was poor. Until my husband talked to the manager, the waitress said nothing about comping her discounting his meal for the inconvenience. The total evening was horrible. Our salad came out looking more like hamburger toppings. Wrong dressing. No drink refills. Seriously, service was awful. New management? New ownership? My guests and myself enjoyed this place. For appetizers we had the bruschetta and the carpaccio. We were informed it was happy hour and that four of the appetizers could be purchased for $4. The pizza is a must-have and you actually get a good portion for the price. The crust was perfect, somewhat crisp and not soggy. After reading such great things about their neopolitan pizza, we were not disappointed. I highly recommend the Pizza Lussuria in particular, though there was quite a lot of red pepper in ours so it's probably not for everyone! The Pizza Anima was great as well, with the andouille sausage holding the spotlight for that pizza. One guest had a Caesar salad (which was HUGE) and reported that it was one of the best she's had recently. We went on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. They have a very nice variety of craft beer on tap.The two bartenders were attentive and friendly. We were early, before 6 so our food came out a little too quickly. The food was good, portions a little small and dinner does not include a salad which most Italian places do. If it came with a salad it would have been perfect. One peculiar thing, my meal came with a lot of delicious soupy tomato sauce and only two tiny pieces of bread. The dough was excellent. The cheese was fine. But the sauce was missing something. It tasted like tomatoes; bland tomatoes without any seasoning what so ever. If that's what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, it's best to pass. Also, there is no ambiance. More than $40 for a sub-par dining experience. So disappointing! I expected more since Noble Hops is one of my favorite restaurants and served great pizzas. We ordered a Caesar salad and pizza bianca al prosciutto. The Caesar salad consisted of brown lettuce with a 2 cup lettuce:1 cup cheese:1 cup dressing ratio. I love cheese, but I could almost drink this salad. Horrible. The pizza was alright as long as you don't like cheese and you like your crust chewy. There was no crunch at all (even the crust) and the cheese barely covered half the pizza. The prosciutto and arugula at least gave the pizza some flavoring and made it somewhat enjoyable. Positives included the wine list, interior, and staff. The wine list, although small, had great options that were well prices. The interior was decorated well but the patio is next to a small playground. We were able to overlook the large number of children running around, but not everyone can. Also the staff was friendly and attentive. Came in the first time with my boyfriend. The bartender Zach was amazing. Very polite and took care of us. But we saw right in front of us the manager Heather yelling at him over giving a coworker a drink she thought it was wine, but was cranberry juice. Amazing!!! We are staying at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain Resort with our whole extended family (24 people). I called Vero Amore last minute and they fit us into a private room that fit us all with hardly any notice. Our server Elizabeth was incredible, everyone in our party was raving about how awesome she was (even the little kids in our group). The food is so delicious, everything we had from salads, pizza to Lasagne was top notch. We had been here 2 years ago and we were so excited to go back. We highly recommend this to anyone who might be staying at the resort, a wonderful, wonderful place to dine...we can't say enough, you won't be disappointed. We were so disappointed with the food here, especially since it's rated 4 stars here on Yelp. We were excited to find out that they offer gluten-free pizza and pasta. My husband is gluten intolerant. Our first impression of the place was great. It's in a lovely spot, and nicely decorated. But our pizza's were just really bad. The GF one had a rock-hard crust and absolutely no flavor. Mine had olives that were overly salty and clashed with the rest of the flavors, which were not good. My husband and I agreed that store-bought, boxed pizzas taste way better. So sad. Maybe they have great pasta! But I don't think we'll go back to find out. read more
