Taste so fresh and its a couple blocks from home... Double yay! Everything I tasted was de-lish. Staff is warm, knew the menu, had awesome recommendations and they're cute too! Who doesn't like eye candy- meow! Oh! I had the something... Burrata (a caprese salad ;) ) also lassagna and my date had the manicotti. No disappointments whatsoever. I'm pretty sure the fresh mozzarella was made here. read more

So I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars but keep in mind that I've only had the pepperoni pizza and the bruschetta. We've been here probably a half a dozen times, usually for lunch and we really like this little place. It's not a real big restaurant, but they've got some great outdoor seating with heaters. The pepperoni pizza is absolutely amazing, reminds me of the stuff I used to get in Sicily. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and the place has always been immaculate! read more

Wonderful little spot with delicious Italian fare. It is NOT just a pizza place (though I hear their pizzas are wonderful). The meatballs were some of the best I've had and their chicken dishes are tender and melt in your mouth, not to mention tasty!!! read more

Food is good but the wait is not. When I ordered takeout they told me 25 minutes. 50 minutes later, I'm still waiting.

Ate here twice for lunch. The restaurant is so cozy. Great service & great food! The first day I ordered the salad/sandwich lunch special. For $9 I received a giant pepperoni panini sandwich that was filled with veges with a side caesar salad. The second day I ordered the pizza special of the day. It was delicious- it had pepperoni, mushrooms, banana peppers, lettuce, and i think it had balsamic vinaigrette on top. I also ordered a pistachio gelato! The servers are friendly & attentive. Service was quick. If you stay at the Ritz Carlton & you don't want to eat on property, this is a good place to have lunch & dinner! read more

Go here quite often as it's convenient and nice to eat at Vero. Better than the place a couple stores down.

Delicious wood-fire oven pizza. Really appreciate their non-traditional toppings and combinations. You must try their daily specials. We even enjoyed their mussels dish as it had a fantastic sauce. The interior design seems a bit indiscriminately put together because there does not appear to be a flow/purpose to the layout/decor. We typically order to go and we are quite happy with having a local non-chain pizza option! read more

A superb find in Italian cuisine! Fresh ingredients with an old style Italian vibe. The bruschetta was was perfectly toasted and the basil, pesto and cheese combination was well executed with wonderfully fresh tomatoes. The marinara sauce on the linguine didn't have the richness I prefer in a sauce but the meatballs were nicely seasoned. My husband ordered the Calzone this time, it was an extremely generous portion and he said it was very good. I don't eat calzones so I have to take his word on that one. Our servers are always quite attentive and professional and don't be afraid to tweak anything to your specific taste as Vero Amore doesn't mind modifications to your individual tastes! We haven't eaten inside because outside is always our preference unless outside ends up meaning sitting in the parking lot sucking in car fumes. This is definitely not the case here at Vero Amore. The patio is nicely tucked away between buildings but with a feeling of spaciousness. Side note: There is a playground just outside the patio which can be good and bad. We noticed parents seem to think its ok to let children play on the playground and yell back and forth while the parents are still seated on the patio area. More of a parenting/manners issue than a restaurant issue but something to keep in mind. read more

THE BEST RED SAUCE THIS SIDE OF ITALY! Bread, meatballs, and pizza are delicious, too. Good wine list with many wines sold by the glass. Service was efficient without being intrusive. This place is located in a new strip mall, but the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is amazing. Great value for the dollar. read more

Great little restaurant! I nice neighborhood feel to it. Staff is always friendly. The food is really good. We patronize regularly.

Today I tried the Prosciutto Panini since all the reviews on here talk about how good the Panini's are. Well i can truly say it was sooo fantastically good. It will now be my new favorite lunch place. Their pizzas are also very tasty. I have posted a picture. read more

Excellent place to go. Quiet, quality atmosphere. Food is as good as Little Italy in NY. Servers, bartenders are professional and enthusiastic to serve you. Such a pleasant place to dine. read more

I ordered takeout and the service was amazing. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, but not a big fan of the fettuccine alfredo or carpete prosciutto salad. read more

We paid $80 between two of us for an app, two half salads and two entrees. The food wasn't better than a frozen pasta meal. The bow tie pasta that was supposed to be with a wine sauce, fresh tomatoes and basil had like one tiny piece of basil and then TONs of liquid in the bottom. The calamari was decent. Overall - super disappointed. read more

Very, very disappointed. Our family has been going to this Vero Amore for the last four years after moving to the area. It used to be my favorite local place to go. When I was pregnant three years ago, I stopped there sometimes twice a week during my last trimester for the Baked Linguine Marinara and took it to go. We've mostly gotten food to go over the years. The last couple times we've gotten food to go the portion size of the baked linguine has been about 1/2 the size as it has been in the past and price has gone up significantly. The order we got today the person on the phone said it be 20-25 minutes. My husband got there 20 minutes later and the staff said it be another five minutes, not a big deal. BUT it ended up taking another 20 minutes with our antsy hungry three year old in the back seat. The order was for an Anima Pizza, baked linguine, and garlic bread. He said his pizza was good, but the garlic bread was cold and tasted like the wilted lettuce that was in the box. My linguine was way over cooked. A large portion of the noodles were crispy and burnt. The portion didn't even fill the bottom of the to go container, and it's $14. I really hate to leave a review like this. I've really loved this place in the past and we've been supporting it during the pandemic. I really hope to see a change in the quality. read more

This place is small and quaint and was referred by the concierge at the Ritz. Glad we went. Had the chicken Mimosa and it was VERY VERY good. The staff was all very friendly and the restaurant is small and quaint. Ma and pa type place. Highly recommend if you're in the area!!! read more

My guests and myself enjoyed this place. For appetizers we had the bruschetta and the carpaccio. We were informed it was happy hour and that four of the appetizers could be purchased for $4. The pizza is a must-have and you actually get a good portion for the price. The crust was perfect, somewhat crisp and not soggy. After reading such great things about their neopolitan pizza, we were not disappointed. I highly recommend the Pizza Lussuria in particular, though there was quite a lot of red pepper in ours so it's probably not for everyone! The Pizza Anima was great as well, with the andouille sausage holding the spotlight for that pizza. One guest had a Caesar salad (which was HUGE) and reported that it was one of the best she's had recently. The ambiance was pleasant as well and though we sat inside, we observed they have a large, lit and covered patio. We will be back for more. read more

We went on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. They have a very nice variety of craft beer on tap.The two bartenders were attentive and friendly. We were early, before 6 so our food came out a little too quickly. The food was good, portions a little small and dinner does not include a salad which most Italian places do. If it came with a salad it would have been perfect. One peculiar thing, my meal came with a lot of delicious soupy tomato sauce and only two tiny pieces of bread. When I asked for more bread I was given two more tiny pieces. Bread is not saffron, loosen up. The Ravenous Roofer read more

Vero Amore... this is definitely not my true love. My first visit was a month ago and the lasagna was very bland. Decided to give it one more try recently and again disappointed. This is an Italian restaurant that does NOT bring bread to your table...they do NOT have Italian sausage! They DO use canned mushrooms very little of their ingredients are fresh and it shows. They have a create your own pizza but have no ingredients listed to choose from. The calamari is salty and over cooked. My 12 year old nephew ordered fettuccini alfredo and he said it was bland, it was. He salted it and it still didn't help much. I'm surprised this place is still there and validates that this area is in dire need of something new.....something good. read more

Amore - Slice of sausage pizza with extra sauce.... you be the judge - Italian Near Me - Marana, Arizona

Yesterday, June 11, 2019, a group of ladies, I among them, had lunch at the Dove Mountain location of Vero Amore. Sadly, from one who used to frequent the original Vero Amore located next to Bashas on Swan and loved it, I was beyond disappointed. Many of us ordered the Chicken Panini; after waiting quite a while, our lunch platters arrived. What was suppose to pass for a panini, turned out to be cold pita bread, with romaine lettuce w/ a bit of Caesar dressing, a tiny bit of chopped tomato and a few bite size pieces of bland chicken. To say our meals were awful, is an understatement. Also, a week ago, I had occasion to lunch at the Swan location of Vero Amore. My friend and I both ordered a salad with a small serving of my old favorite, bow tie Pasta Pomodoro. Although the menu indicated the pasta would be served with a "splash" of white wine, the taste of wine was so overpowering, that the pasta was not edible. Sadly, Vero Amore has been crossed off our list! read more

So disappointing! I expected more since Noble Hops is one of my favorite restaurants and served great pizzas. We ordered a Caesar salad and pizza bianca al prosciutto. The Caesar salad consisted of brown lettuce with a 2 cup lettuce:1 cup cheese:1 cup dressing ratio. I love cheese, but I could almost drink this salad. Horrible. The pizza was alright as long as you don't like cheese and you like your crust chewy. There was no crunch at all (even the crust) and the cheese barely covered half the pizza. The prosciutto and arugula at least gave the pizza some flavoring and made it somewhat enjoyable. Positives included the wine list, interior, and staff. The wine list, although small, had great options that were well prices. The interior was decorated well but the patio is next to a small playground. We were able to overlook the large number of children running around, but not everyone can. Also the staff was friendly and attentive. All in all, it was a disappointing experience I wouldn't recommend. read more

Ate here for the first time. Had the Chicken Picatta for lunch. It was to die for! Just the right lemon in a light wine cream sauce, accented with capers. Chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Also, came with a cup of pasta with just the right amount of a creamy red sauce. Very nice to enjoy two complimentary flavors in one meal. Only improvement I would make is the addition of a vegetable. My meal seemed to need sauteed asparagus or fresh green beans to round it out. The place is very intimate, pleasant, modern decor and the service was impeccable. Was there to enjoy a "catch up" lunch with a favorite friend. We stayed for at least a couple of hours and we're not rushed out. The price was a bit higher than I usually pay for lunch, but very reasonable, considering the quality of our experience. I will definitely be returning. So glad to find a new favorite place. read more

Love, love, love this restaurant! The bread is a must! It's round, soft and baked to perfection. The chicken sausage is incredibly tasting. My husband and I don't eat pork so it was nice to have a alternative option. It was a bit spicy and just perfect. The pizza is wonderful. The ambiance is nice and lighting is perfect. This is a great place for a dinner date for the whole family or just picking up an order to go! Also, love that is it located so close to our home in Dove Mountain. Thanks :) read more

Amazing Italian food. Tastes like Italy, loved the service atmosphere and music. Waiter was polite and very knowledgeable of the menu.

The food was delicious, the wine selection was appropriate for the prices. During one of the two dining experiences I have had, our young waiter forgot to enter an entree order for a person at our table and did not realize until we asked about their plate - it was not a full house that night. We were sitting on the patio and there were kitchen and wait staff exiting and entering the back kitchen door, being very loud. I come from a service industry background so I pay attention to the staff quite a bit and also do my very best to be a considerate and understanding diner. I will definitely come back for another meal. I hope the owner and manager find this review helpful. read more

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and have always had a great experience until tonight. The service was sooooooo bad our party didn't want to leave a tip. It took us forever to order, she got half the orders wrong, never came to ask if we needed another drink (we had to get her attention), she got the drink orders wrong, my husband got the wrong meal and didn't get the one he ordered until the end (he had to take it home because the rest of us had already eaten), the bills were wrong, and her attitude was poor. Until my husband talked to the manager, the waitress said nothing about comping her discounting his meal for the inconvenience. The total evening was horrible. It is so sad because now we really don't want to go back. read more

After being a customer for many years, tonight will be my last visit. We sat for 20 minutes before being acknowledged. Another 10 minutes to get drinks. Something changed and not for the better. read more

Meh. I really hoped this place was going to live up to the hype. My wife has family in Napoli, and people told us that the pizza was on par with what we have when we visit there. The dough was excellent. The cheese was fine. But the sauce was missing something. It tasted like tomatoes; bland tomatoes without any seasoning what so ever. If that's what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, it's best to pass. Also, there is no ambiance. More than $40 for a sub-par dining experience. Again, if that's what you like, then go for it. But it does not live up to the hype. read more

Food was delicious and service was excellent. Everyone loved their meal. Caprese salad was actually a salad and the added prosciutto was delicious. The Mediterranean past was great. Roasted Garlic tomato pasta was delicious. The marinara sauce was exceptional. Don't miss the wood fired bread. The meatballs were great. The wine list was solid and reasonably priced. Came in the first time with my boyfriend. The bartender Zach was amazing. Very polite and took care of us.
