This was my first time at this nail salon. I went in and got a manicure and a pedicure while getting my pedicure a piece of my skin or toenail was ripped off and I didn't think much of it even though it hurt and I now have an ingrown toenail. I got a full set of acrylics which I thought was a simple set. I asked to have the shape a little skinnier than she was making them. this did not happen so these acrylics were very oddly shaped. Update: I just went back to amor nails. Got a deluxe pedi. Wow. My feet feel like silk. So soft. My gel mani/pedi look impressive. I told my nail person the reviews on here due them no justice. I guess they have new owners since those horrible reviews. So glad to know that the new people take care of customers so much better than the old reviews I read from years ago. I love Mitra. Whoever does acrylic nails does not do a good job and they do not listen to the customers requests. I know someone who asked for a specific type of acrylic nail for an important event and she ended up leaving with nails that weren't anywhere close to what she asked for with a top coat not even put on which you are supposed to do. The whole service ended up taking over 2 hours because she kept stating they weren't done to her liking and still left with them not done to the requests. The pricing is not worth the quality of the service and I do not recommend coming here. read more

I love this place. I never call in advance for an appointment; I walk in each and every time and each and every time they accommodate me. They have great spa chairs that massage, roll and beat the hell out of your back. They always offer you a beverage; typically a glass of wine but I always take the water because who wants to be so relaxed and DRUNK? I'm a light weight what can I say. Their prices are reasonable; $25 for spa pedicure then the pricing goes up based on the level of pedicure you want. I always chose the $25 spa pedicure because it's just so good for the price but if you feel indulgent by all means go up the levels and chose your pedicure. They also do all kinds of manicures including the now popular Shellac manicure. I never do the mani; pedi only as that's my one escape. Always friendly; reasonably priced. GIve 'em a try. read more

Horrible experience. This would be the second time I've tried this location. They rush through everything. I got a full set of solar nails and a pedicure. While getting my pedicure the man messed up my toe nail polish. When I got to my solar nail set I asked if it could be fixed. They charged me $3 extra dollars to paint an extra coat on top of it which made it worse than it looked before. Back to my solar nails. He tried making them straight but I had asked for a little more straight. He complained about me asking nicely to fix it. My nails have never looked so horrible. Or my toes. The first time I went it was the same experience. They rush through everything and charge for fixing. Will be needing a new nail place for sure. read more

Went today w my mother they didn't have any of the colors we wanted that they had as samples. I asked the lady to just do white tips and the white tips don't even cover the white tips of my actual nail not to mention the lines are crooked. My mother's nails were filed after the final coat stripping them of the clear coat and leaving them looking unfinished and they're also really thick like twice as thick as normal. We went there bc they had a 4.7 star rating but it was one of the worst manicures we've ever had. read more

Every nail set I get lasts me quite a while and they always do an amazing job on my eyebrows as well, I love this place! Hadn't been to Amor Nails in years. I forgot how nice it is for them to pamper you. Very reasonably priced & convenient. I had the Deluxe Pedicure with the paraffin & it felt great. Also as a last minute idea, I asked for a manicure. Amy ended up giving me a neck massage while my nails were drying. Wow! Only thing I don't like (I realize it's a business) is they always ask if you want your eyebrows AND face waxed. Other than that, the customer service is great. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is very unsanitary. I went here recently because my usual nail salon is closed on Sunday. Some things I noticed while I was there: techs did not wash hands between customers, tubs were not sanitized, tools were not cleaned using sanitizer or heat, tools are keep on a cart in Starbucks cups or red solo cups. Nothing about this place is clean, my technician was even out front smoking between my services. Very unprofessional and dirty. Go somewhere else. read more

I have been here several times and just feel like they get way too comfortable with their loyal customers because the last couple of times I've been getting rush jobs. Last time I was there they did my manicure while I was sitting in the pedicure chair. I can understand if I came in at the last hour and they wanted to finish before closing but I was in 3 hours before closing time. Today, I decided to give them another chance. I walked in and I was open to have anyone do my manicure and pedicure in the hopes of getting better service from someone who would take their time. While the pedicure was good and he did take his time, the manicure was the worst I've ever had! He cut me several times while cleaning up my cuticles, and while filing between the nail and skin after my nails were polished. I'm guessing to keep the polish and skin from sticking together, which I would much rather had as that was a really painful process. Two nails were filed crooked and polish was left on my fingertips and sides of fingers. Sad to say think my time there is done and I will have to move on. read more

Came in for pedicure for myself and husband. Jimmi and Hannah did a great job pampering us. Everything to the awesome foot massage and the shoulder massage was a plus! The best time to come is when they're not busy, they tend to spend some extra quality time when they have it. I will always come get my nails done here!!!!! NOT EVER AGAIN. Though I would try another nail salon so based on reviews, I picked Amor Nails on Bandera Rd. in Helotes. Employees are rude. I told them I wanted a pedicure & manicure. Gentleman doing my feet about took the skin off my legs. Then when he was finished with pedi - asked me "Do you still want manicure, or you change your mind?" Well with that comment & the service up to this point, I changed my mind. When I took my card out to pay for it, he walks by, not saying a word and snatches out of my hand. My toenails look good but not good enough for me to go back for this crappy service. Take my suggestion & go elsewhere. read more

When you can get in, the staff does a good job on manis and pedis. However, most of the time, they tell you the wait will be "just a little while" and you end up waiting 30+ minutes. Today I sat for 30 minutes and then when I asked how much longer, they responded "30 minutes." They also suggested I come back tomorrow, which was really frustrating after I had waited so long. I will not be going back because they seem to always have a long wait and are not honest about the timeframe. read more
