Good afternoon, well my experience was horrible. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter for a retouch highligh. long story short they did not match her hair as the originally. the highlight that she had before was a bronze color and now she put a blonde highlights. you can see the difference on her hair. at the bigining we did not notice it because her hair was wet, it was until next day we see a differen. I went there and asked to talk with the manager and she said that they can fix it but I need to pay for an extra service. I was not agree because first of all it was not our fault. they had to fix her mistake and at lease not charge for corrections. the manager asked me for the edge of my daughter because she is an adult telling me as my daughter has to assume the situation because she was over 18. it doesn't matter the edge of my daughter, she doesn't have experience going to a hair salon. it was just her second time doing something on her hair. it was very disappointing to be on the wrong side of hands. read more

YES! I've been to another location but since moving this one is a lot closer to me. I called for a simple all over color and a cut and they were able to get me in the following day. The salon is very clean and they offer beverages during your service and it gives a nice feel to your experience. Mamta provided my service for me and I loved it! She was very sweet and it was fun talking to her throughout the service. She also did a consultation before the service started to let me know about pricing before starting. I'm moving very soon but when I come back to visit family I'll make my way here for trims and touch ups! read more

My 18yo daughter went to this salon and had a terrible experience. She showed her assigned hair stylist a photo of what she wanted and was told she needed 2 sessions to get it done. She was charged an outrageous amount of $400 for her first session and naively agreed to a second session to complete the work, thinking she would leave with acceptable results from this first session. Her hair was pretty much ruined; fried, wrong color and terrible highlights. She got home in tears. Next day went to the salon and explained her dissatisfaction and said they could only tone it down without charging her, but came back home in basically the same state of hair. Having explained her situation to us, we advised her to NOT go to another session there, where she was going to have to cough up another $400 (of her own hard-earned money) for her second session. You can imagine just how eroded her confidence in the stylist was at that point. In a state of panic she used mom's stylist and he almost fell back upon seeing the damaged and spotty work done to her hair. He fixed it and gave her what she wanted for HALF THE PRICE. Today my daughter tried speaking to the manager in order to get a full or partial refund but was denied saying 'we stand by our work' and 'we cannot honor the work since you went to another stylist'. We are upset at this situation and the salon's poor response to taking responsability for their quality of work each of the times she reached out. Not even a partial refund. I honestly feel they took advantage of her age and inexperience in dealing with this sort of thing. Lesson learned. Will never use this service again. read more

I went here back in august granted took awhile to post but as I sit with a haircut unhappy still I felt I'd share my experience As I went for my birthday to feel good; My hair is curly the girl pulled my hair straight to cut it leaving it much shorter after I spoke of keeping my length it's curly it's gonna shrink! Had my hair done today by Kat and Kersten. Kat colored my hair, Kersten gave me a beautiful cut! This was my first experience at D'Anthony, and it was an AMAZING one. Before beginning, Kat sat with me to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted. She was patient, took her time, and achieved EXACTLY the color I wanted. Then Kersten cut my hair and gave me the most beautiful layers and added so much texture to my long hair. I loved my entire experience! The teamwork amongst the staff, the friendliness towards clients, and just the overall experience was so wonderful. I will definitely be returning! After leaving my former pedi place I've been trying a few different places to find one I like not too far from the casa. I've been to D'Anthony about three times now and I think I'm crushing on them. It's fairly easy to make an appt since I'm so bad about waiting til the last minute to book! I got there and my girl was ready for me and took back to pick out my color. Their space for pedi/mani is not huge, but that's fine, it works. My girl was so nice and I really enjoyed chatting with her. She wasn't patronizing or fake which I really appreciate. We went to have our hair cut, colored, and highlighted. I wanted bangs which I didn't get or a layered look. My hair was supposed to be cut to my shoulders and was cut way above my shoulders and no layering. I liked the highlight but that was all Gabriella got correct. My sister wanted her hair highlighted and trimmed but had several inches cut off and her hair came out lighter then requested, almost blonde. We said nothing because we were in shock when our bill was $545.00 not including the tip! We have never ever been charged so much money for a so, so cut. Our hair was not longer than past shoulders so the cost should not have been as high as they claim. The Manager apparently advised that they charge for each ounce they use on your hair including 20.00 for toner! Needless to say that is our last visit to this rip off place! I've been to this salon and have had a great experience with Kamika a stylist who left. I was looking for someone new and the front desk receptionist recommended I go with Kaitlyn. She was so sweet and kind which pains me to write this review. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 but she didn't take me till 2 since she was still working on a client before me but I understand it happens. When she took me she asked what I wanted and I showed her an image. She then asked if I had scheduled for a color or highlight I said color because I was unsure of what technique she would use in order to achieve what I wanted. She then explained the process of what I wanted to do was a highlight and would take longer to do than the color appointment I had scheduled. I have previously worked in a salon and know whatever the client wants to do during their time at appointment you just have to work with it. If the stylist felt that she may go over the time that it would interfere with her next appointment the next client should be made aware that her appointment may run late or that her time may go later than expected. I have never heard of a salon refusing to do a service because there is another appointment. I then decided to just go with color since she refused to do what I requested. She asked if the color I wanted to do was my root color I said sure and she left to mix the color. I made her aware that I was also going to be needing a haircut. During the color process she asked if I wanted to remove my mask and I made her aware that I felt uncomfortable to do so. She applied the color and I had noticed that she did not take it all the way down to my ends but I thought it was because she knew I was getting a cut but took it down enough so that it would blend. She cut, blowdried my hair and styled it. I left and paid for the service and even tipped because again having worked at a salon I understand if I was unhappy with the service it would affect Kaitlyns pay and I didn't want to do that to her since she was so sweet during my service. I did not careful inspect my hair while in the salon because I knew that I would not like it and did not want to insult Kaitlyn by my reaction. In my car I inspected and found the my entire face was covered in hair color. My forehead and sideburn area all the way to my cheek were covered in hair color. I drove home and it took me an hour to remove the hair color and I still have residual tinting on my face. Who allows a client to leave your facility with hair color all over their face? Upon further inspection at home I noticed that my roots were dark black and the rest of my hair was dark brown. A visible difference that showed she didn't take the color all the way down to the ends which I suspected. If she would have asked if I wanted the hair color all the way down to my ends I would have of course said yes because now I hate my hair and will have to visit another salon in order to get what I had originally liked to have done. I don't want a refund or Kaitlyn to be embarrassed or reprimanded but for D'Anthony to change the way that they treat customers that come into their salon. An appointment should be time allocated to clients to make them feel important not just another person in the salon. read more

I normally don't write reviews, however I want to warn everyone about this place. I went in asking for a cut and color, the Manager, Debbie, told me I was "blessed" with too much hair, I have to understand I'm an "all day project" and I cannot afford what I want without telling me the price. They proceeded to dye my hair a VERY dark color, when I wanted it extremely light, charging me $20 per ounce of dye, then after dying they cut way more than i wanted off. I have never felt so humiliated and disrespected, I sat in the chair trying to hold back tears, unsuccessfully. As I cant reply to the owners comment I am editing for clarification. You were not there, and obviously feel like it's fine for a client to cry in the chair. I agreed to the dark color because I was so humiliated and was being talked down to so much. I did tip, I only tipped 16% because I do not believe in not tipping, but I do not believe this was a job well done, and would have tipped higher if I did. Next time I know not to tip. This was not a job well done. I hope one day someone makes you feel the way Debi made me feel. read more

This is my 3rd time going and very rarely do I ever post negative reviews, but I am so upset at my latest salon visit. The first two were good cut/color/highlight experiences. But what caused my lower rating was my latest appointment. I had an appointment scheduled with a stylist, but they were out with an illness and I was rescheduled with another stylist. Overall I thought everything was going well. My color and highlights were gorgeous and she made great recommendations. When it came down to my cut, I have never been so upset at my hair results. Imagine a toy claw machine making its way to the back of my head and taking out an uneven chunk of hair, leaving back wings and side wings, no layering (even though I asked), longer hair lengths in places, not trimming up the back of neck, etc. Then when she couldn't figure out how to get my curls to not frizz, asked me how to fix my hair. Then laughed and said she doesn't normally handle curly hair and needs to practice more!!!! So my head was Practice? And at a full price $$$. It was only when I made it home, looked in the mirror and had my friends and family see it, did I realize how horrible my hair turned out. I was devastated! Immediately, I drove to a less expensive hair cut place paying $ to rectify the damage done. My hair is now much more shorter than expected, but thankfully the ladies at the second salon were able to allow me to walk out with properly layered, trimmed, evenly cut hair. I think for a salon that charges so much, the stylist would be well versed on all types of hair and/or secure enough to state that they need help from the other stylists who can cut curly hair. read more

This is the bast Salon I ever went to. I went to them with my red orange color and I want to change in to blond. I went to another Salon and they said its impossible to take the red out and and the only thing they can do is making a highlight over the red , which I didn't want to and l left them to go to D'Anthony salon. Gabriela she is the one who did my hair , she is young but so smart lady plus she loves her job which made her being creative and proud of what she is doing. She was taking her coworkers opinions to find a solution for my hair then she came up with making some thin highlights and cover the red by color it with my natural hair color which is deep brown.... WOW I loved this Idea of not bleaching my hair and hide the red with darker color. Gabriela did such a great work to my hear she treated me like a relative or close friend. She never forget about me, she puts on her timer and come to check on me every 10 to 15 minutes. Girl hair: the ultimate Yelp test. I always try to wait after reviewing hair places, most because it's such an emotional thing. I feel like if I'm happy about my hair or even unhappy, the emotional extremes are always involved I like it here though, for more reasons than I'm always happy. Scheduling - I can schedule myself online or I can call. Call me antisocial, but I love the online scheduling. I couldn't remember who colored my hair last time, but online it has who helped me last as well as what services I received. So a few days ago when I found out I had an interview, I jumped online to get a touchup. It was so easy to pick a time and a day (today) that worked for me without being on hold or a pain. Treats - They have treats here. Not just water or coffee, but soda, WINE and chips. I hope it's implied by now that I love free wine, and being offered to drink it while I get my hair done. Of the standard salon things, I love the colors they use. I appreciate the variety in standard as well as sassy color. I adore the wash room. The lights are low, the music is soothing and the scalp massages are fab. Personally, I really like Audrey, the person that does my hair. She can talk when I feel talkative but doesn't bother me when I want to be quiet (or write Yelp reviews). I came to D'Anthony Salon from a friend's recommendation- but didn't know what stylist to schedule with--Thankfully my fellow yelpers lead me to Laine!! My natural color is a light ashy brown- and I had about 5 inches of growth followed by a brassy faded blondish from my last coloring. I honestly didn't know what I wanted- and gave Laine free rein, and she didn't disappoint! Not worth the money. I called and booked my appointment for a Saturday at 4:30. The women who attended me came out and looked at my hair. All I needed was about 15 foils. I showed her the color I wanted and a picture. Needles to say I did not get what I wanted. The color turned out more red then blonde. It could possibly be because she was in a rush at closing and the area where they wash and look at hair is dark. I mean seriously how can you check on someone's color with the lights so low. I went home and called back to schedule a redo. They went ahead and took me in to repair the job. Unfortunately for me the color was better but it was done in such a rush with no care that she didn't bother to blend properly creating chunks of colored hair around my face. My sister received an email from D'Anthony with a promotion for the months of October/November. It was for a COMPLIMENTARY pumpkin mask and scrub. So my sister and I schedule appointments for their classic pedicure ($35). We get our toes done (which they did a terrible job) and go to pay. The lady who was doing my sister's toes comes up and says what we got was the spa pedicure ($45) because of the mask and scrub. I tell her that it was complimentary and it didn't say anywhere in the email that a spa pedicure needed to be purchased. She keeps saying over and over that "the scrub and mask are part of a spa pedicure". So either they should be more specific in the mass emails they send out or they should have told us before we even sat down in the chair. The pedicure I received was no where near worth $45. I am not happy with the service or pedicure I received and I will NEVER go back. All about me day spa is WAY better!! read more

My previous hairstylist moved too far and the time had come to find a new stylist. I called around to some local salons in the Helotes area. Two other salons in the area almost seems annoyed by my call as if I had interrupted them by calling their business. A third salon didn't even answer or have an answering service. When Kevin? (I think that was his name) answered at D'Anthony, he was super friendly and helpful. He found me an appointment time for a cut and style with Kat and she was great! I feel like I got so lucky to find a new stylist for me so quickly. I gave her a vague idea of what I wanted and she made it happen! She even recommended to me a deep conditioning treatment since my hair was much drier and frizzier than my norm. To clarify, those are my words and not her description of my hair. I'm so glad I took her up on that because my hair feels so silky and smooth now even after the first post-haircut wash. I already scheduled my next appointment with Kat. read more

Just came back from the salon. I called to check it they accepted walk-ins and they were able to accommodate within an hour. Shannon was my stylist and she was great. She listened to my request and gave inputs on what looks nice. I had a very boring straight black hair...I used to cut my hair or should I say trim it using crea clip but since I wanted to go short, i really needed a professional..I wanted a shoulder length with layers.. I loved my new short hair. Perfect for the summer. The price is reasonable, at $40, it's worth it. You get a nice relaxing shampoo and conditioner and blow dry..You can opt for just a wet cut but since its kinda hard to tell the end results if the hair is wet. Just saying. My stylist was Jenn for a women's cut (wet). She did a great job! I had desperately needed a haircut after growing out a perm (which I had gotten overseas) for over six months. Great scalp massage while washing my hair. Professional. Friendly. My fiancé decided to try a different stylist out after I had gone. His cut looks okay. The back was a little choppy/uneven, but it's only noticeable if you're looking at it closely. Overall, his hair still looks good. His stylist was friendly as well. The overall look of the salon is very professional and welcoming. I like the fact that they have their pricing available online, but I do wish there was a section for the level of each stylist so it'd make it easier to choose when booking because they have so many! Starting off, this whole experience was kind of a disaster. My mother and I both bought Groupons for a facial and manicure. I called to set up the appointment and asked to add a pedicure on for each of us. It was like I was speaking Martian, because they were not comprehending what I wanted to do. "You want to add a pedicure?... for both of you?" OMG Once there, we had a short wait. The salon is very nice, very contemporary decor and comfy couches in the waiting area, which was directly in front of the hair portion of the salon. It is set inside a little strip mall, so I was a bit hesitant about how nice it was going to be. My mum was pulled away first for her facial, and a few minutes later (maybe 7), it was my turn. I had Alika and all I can say is that it was a horrible experience. I think I have blocked the memory now because I can't recall the exact details on why I hated it, but I seriously contemplated just getting up halfway through and telling her that was enough. She did some extractions on my nose and forehead and they were super painful. I am not prone to blackheads, and I scrutinize my face in the mirror all the time and hadn't seen any, so I'm not sure what she was extracting. Then she literally repeated the exact same process of this exfoliating scrub (smelled nice!) over and over. I have not had that many facials before (maybe 5?) but there were always different steps, not just repeating the same one!! Also the spa room is right off the main salon area, and all I heard the entire time was people out there laughing and talking... not peaceful or relaxing at all. My mum had a facial with Marissa, and it was apparently a lot better with multiple different steps!!! She also had the same experience with the outside noise, and the music in her room, coming from the girl's iPod, stopped multiple times throughout the facial. Even tho Mum went it first, I was done nearly 10 minutes before she was so I was definitely jipped on time. When I came out, they tried to start my pedicure right away and I had to explain that I wanted to wait to do it with my Mum. Judy was my pedicurist and did my manicure afterwards, and she did a very good job. I am quite picky about nails and toenails but I was very happy with the job she did. Mum had Brianna for her pedicure, and she would not stop talking... :/ My mum and I could not even have a conversation, even tho we told Brianna that my Mum was visiting from NJ and leaving the next day. Brianna did an alright job on the pedicure, but did not scrub enough. Mum had Marissa back for her manicure and she did a great job. To top it all off... I was not offered anything to drink (including complimentary glasses of wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) until halfway through my pedicure. $180 Grey highlights..This is a late post. From June 2013 This is a tuff one to review I am conflicted, I will write a follow up after my next appointment in a day or two after I have the color corrected. So for now let me tell you about my appointment today for color/highlights/ cut/ trim. After believing what a box color commercial said I could archive from my home failed I came to D'anthony's to tone down my copper penny highlights. Was taken back right away 9:45 showed my colorist some pictures I had, of the desired highlighting I wanted, caramels, soft light browns, even leave some of the red in, I wanted nice shiney flowing hair with peekaboo highlights, dare I say it, i wanted sexy shiny hair, like on the commercials! So off we go. With a head loaded full of foils and a semi gloss. I sat and waited and waited with excitement and waited. While my colorist sat and had her hair straightened by another stylist , checked her phone and I sat and waited. A nice young gentleman came to ask of I was done and she said yes she should be, never once checking on my hair. Got a wonderful relaxing, shampoo, but could tell something was a bit off, he knew. And as I sat down and looked at my wet hair, I was speechless, she quickly combed thru my hair and started blow drying and straightening it, in silence. My once chocolate brown hair with red dye job is now has frosted white/ grey highlights. You know the kind that your mom use to do at home back in the 70's. Grey ,highlights. Thats the whole Reason I stared to color my hair in the first place to get some of the grey Out, not more in, I look older now then when I walked in 4 hrs ago. Before I left she asked me once if I liked it and I told her it was too light she finished my cut and had me meet her at the front to pay. No care instructions, or offers to let me sleep on it and if I don't like it to come back.. I like the weaving affect of the highlights threw out my hair just wish they weren't so white/ grey my hair looks very course. My husband said I look like a hedgehog. Pout, So hopefully tomorrow maybe I will like it more, if not I am calling to see if they can get me in for a toner!? read more

I've had a couple of pedicures done here and my hair cut and colored once. The pedicures were both great however the most recent one the color started to chip and look dull after only a couple of days. Maybe she didn't put a top coat on? I don't remember. I ended up with Alan as a stylist last week. I went in for a color job and ended up getting my hair cute, too. I LOVE the cut, and I'm liking the color. It ended up being more red than I wanted, but I do like it. I don't put any blame on Alan AT ALL because I leaned toward this color. I guess I was hoping for a bit more brown than it turned out. I'm also still getting used to it. But change is good, and it is hair so it'll grow out and be just fine. I had such a good time talking with Alan. He is so friendly and we got along nicely. We were both running a bit late that day but he took his time to help me get to where I wanted to be. This is definitely a very nice salon. It is obvious they take pride in aiming to please. I definitely recommend them. And I recommend Alan, too, as a hair stylist. read more
