Before we got started she brought out hair samples of the colors to choose from and we decided to do a blend of 2 different colors. Maya gave my hair life again! I heard about her from my friend, who recently got a cut from Maya, and it looked great! I was looking for a same-day appointment for just a cut only, and even though Maya didn't work that day, she actually came just for me! I got an appointment within the next two hours. When I arrived, the receptionist greeted me with drinks and made me feel very welcomed. Maya spoiled me and gave me an intentional consult, scalp massage, and educational experience about healthy hair and tips on curling. I have straight thick black hair so I wanted to be sure my hair was going to have movement and not look choppy. Maya listened to me and took off just enough. I think originally, Maya stayed a little conservative with the texturizing, but I like a lot of layers so I asked her to add more a couple times - and she did just that. I recommend coming in knowing what you don't want and she can then help steer you in the right direction. Maya knows a lot about modern hair and truly has a passion for hair. I've been spoiled in the fact that she locked me in at $75 for any kind of cut and color--which is amazing because I'm a teacher BUT she lives an hour away, so it was time I found someone in SA after living here for almost four years. Totally dig the vibe of the salon. It is very relaxing. Everyone is VERY friendly. I chose Maya as my stylist because of the reviews on here. She did not disappoint. She was so sweet. She was very attentive. She even showed me how to curl my hair when I told her all I ever do is straighten it. My hair looks fantastic! There was a little bit of a shock when I got the total--around $180 for a cut and color. That may be the norm--I'm just not used to spending that much on my hair. David personally oversees and extends the education of his high level stylists and colorists, making sure they are all on par with anyone you'll find in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, et. al. David is the owner and top stylist for a reason, he is passionate about his work, patient with his explanations to my many questions, and thorough both in his knowledge and listening to your personal hair experiences. I had dyed my hair red a while back and wanted to go back to my natural color, dirty blonde. My hair was literally red, and Kayla turned it into a BEAUTIFUL masterpiece. She did a haircut, color correction treatment, and balayage highlights. I've already received loads of compliments and happier than expected.
