This place is a total fraud. Came for Japanese hair straightening and my hair was not changed at all. I reached out to Ms. Norma to let her know and she claimed the product rep had given her "the wrong treatment". Came back to get it correct with the right treatment a month later as she claimed and still no difference on my curls. Even purchased hair products from her and it was no good. Ive been getting Japanese hair treatments for years and never experienced anything like this. Now my hair is damaged and I cannot even get it fixed by a professional for another 6 months. I feel like I was a experiment on and she definitely has no experience on how to do Japanese hair treatments. While I did like my haircut services, simple trim and bangs, the stylist did not offer to straighten or style my hair so I had to do that when I got home to get the full effect of the haircut. Other than that, the salon had several passive aggressive signs about masks that I felt was unnecessary. On the door to the salon is the sign below.. which acknowledges the idea of choice but also is rude if you choose to wear one. Lower is the phrase "Let's Go Brandon". I decided to continue with my haircut because I really wanted one, and I do believe in putting politics aside, but these signs alone made me very hesitant. The salon design was very cute, but of course on the mirror is a mask that says "this mask is as useless as Biden" also were signs about inflation also blaming Biden. My biggest problem is again the passive aggressive nature of the mask signs. If you acknowledge the choice aspect then why have signs that make your costumer feel stupid for wearing one? Because of the immature nature of these signs, I will not be going back to this salon. read more

It is a cute place, however; not the place for me. When I arrived I had to wait almost 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The cut it's self was not bad or horrible but the bangs were not what I was looking for. I was also told that a wash, dry and style was included and that was not the case. I just moved to San Antonio and desperately needed a haircut. I had a really bad one before I moved and needed it to be fixed. I assumed I would have to cut some length off and was prepared for the worst. Norma fit me in on very short notice and she did so amazing! She didn't have to cut much of my length and she made my hair look wonderful! I got a huge confidence boost leaving her chair! I was very pleased with my haircut and blow dry. Although I had to wait longer than I expected to be seen by Angelica, it was worth the wait. I appreciated that she didn't make repetitive comments about how thick my hair is. I get that a lot and it gets a bit annoying, specially when I'm at the hair salon. She took time to blow dry my hair and I absolutely loved it. While I was there I enjoyed reading the cute and funny signs they have as decor. I look forward to coming back! read more

I had highlights done elsewhere and the color ended up almost a solid blonde and too blonde for my skin tone. I could not bare to even look at myself in the mirror. The color wasn't me. Had massive hair loss due to change in medication and I was told about Norma at Shear Genius Salon. I visited Norma and she explained to me what were the changes she could do for me. I opted for Norma's suggestions to include hair extensions. Found out through Norma that she had to be trained and certified for this process. Norma worked magic and now I have HAIR. I can shampoo and dry my hair and not worry about hair loss. When I brush my hair it's all so natural because it's human hair and you can't see where the added piece and extensions are placed.
