STAY AWAY, I HAD TO CHOP OFF MY HAIR. Horrible place. An absolute nightmare. I thought because the stylist had curly hair that she would know how to treat my curls. I should have guessed otherwise when I noticed her own hair being untamed in both visits. She absolutely wrecked my hair. I visited this place almost 2 years ago and my hair is still recovering. They messed it up so bad it looked nothing like what we agreed on in our 30 minute consultation! I explained to her in detail what I wanted so that we would be on the same page just for her to do whatever she wanted. I should've guessed when I visited the awful stylist Sarah's instagram and all her hair colors looked the same. She has one thing she's "good at" and that's all she does despite what the client asked for. On top of messing up my hair she refused to dry it because a "blow out" is an extra charge. I didn't know not getting a blow out meant you had to leave with soaking wet hair, not even a towel dry. She blowdried on little sections so I could see what it looked like. Then left the rest soaking . You know it was terrible when I came home and my family asked me what happened? Immediately. I PAID almost $400 for a what happened. On top of that even getting the owner involved she FORCED ME to only have the same stylist that messed my hair up "correct it" and she said she would shadow to make sure she didn't right and didn't even stay to see how my hair turned out and make sure I was satisfied. EITHER OF THEM. She left me to get my hair dried by someone completely different (someone who hadn't touched my hair this whole time) to realize they fucked up my hair even worse. They rebleached everything again even though I asked for DARKER toned highlights. (Like a lighter brown and darker brown mix all in all to like a light and darker chocolate hair) They left me with bleach blonde bright yellow highlights making me look awful and completely destroying my curls. I had to chop off majority of my hair as the bleach damage was extremely intense and my hair was visibly fried. And crunchy! It would break off whenever I brushed it. So I had no choice but to cut it to just above the shoulders. Do not come here ESPECIALLY if you have beautiful curls. read more

Months ago I had my hair done at this salon and paid over 300$. I wanted my hair lightened and showed a referenced photo in person and in a consultation. I was told what I wanted was achievable after the first session I quite literally left the salon in tears because it was so far from what I had asked for. I paid only for the products used that day and was assured that I could come back and have my hair "fixed" for no additional charge considering I did not receive the service I paid for. Instead of fixing my hair it was bleached to the point of extreme breakage. I was never warned or told that what I wanted wasn't viable until after I was upset with the outcome, the stylist truly tried her best but even with my explanation of how my hair reacts to chemical processing (lifts very quickly) she still over processed my hair and was unable to give me anything close to what I wanted. This salon does not know how to work with fine naturally lighter hair. On top of all of this the owner is extremely rude. And even after my hair was damaged and practically ruined I was told I needed to pay an additional 150$ on top of what I had already spent for hair that will take years to heal. I debated a lot about making this review because I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but it seems like this salon is willing to lie to get money for poor quality work. I am still receiving comments to this day about the damage to my hair because of the damage I have lost 3-4 inches of length. read more

I have been traveling an hour away to get my hair cut and colored and was looking for a new place, and this place is close to home. When I made the appointment, I made it clear I am looking for a new permanent place to be loyal to, but when I got there, my stylist said she is quitting in a few days. So that's definitely not possible. The place is decorated cute/girlie, and seems clean. But, no one was very friendly. BE AWARE!!! When I checked out, I decided to also buy my favorite hair product. Later, I looked at my receipt, because it was more expensive than I expected, and I realized they added the product on before the tip, so when I tipped 20%, I paid an extra $5 for my $25 hair product?!?!?! WTH?!? IF YOU BUY PRODUCTS, MAKE THEM RING THEM UP SEPARATELY! I am ok with my cut and color, would rate the hair cut and color 4/5 and the service, product overcharge, and the inconvenience of having to find a new sylist, 2/5. The salon is so cute, pink everywhere, and very stylish. The shampoo room is so calming/relaxing. They use top of the line hair products, they also sell them. Lyric took great care of my hair today! I got my hair done at The Color Studio in January 2022 and the stylist left me sitting with wet hair toward the end of my appointment while she did a 20 minute color consult for a walk-in. She also caused breakage by aggressively brushing my hair while it was wet. The color was ok, but when I got home, I noticed some brassiness that worsened over the next few weeks. And my ends looked fried. I figured maybe the stylist was new and inexperienced, so when I called to book my next appointment, I asked for a different stylist. I took the afternoon off work today and was looking forward to getting my hair done. Unfortunately, when I got to the salon, it turned out they never put my appointment on their books. There was zero apology - they just said there must have been a miscommunication, as if I didn't understand how to book an appointment. I have an MBA and know how to write appointments in my planner, so the problem was definitely not on my end. And I wouldn't have taken time out of my busy work schedule and deiven over there if they hadn't made an appointment for me. I am way too busy for that. The staff here is extremely unprofessional and the stylists aren't great. Don't waste your time. read more

Immediate impressions was how PINK the establishment was. If you're afraid of colors then this isn't for you. However, what are you even expecting entering a place literally called the COLOR studio? That being said, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Their mascot, Cookie, was definitely a treat (Be advised if you have dog-phobias or allergies). Ultimately, from the displays to the marketing of their very own T-shirt's, this is salon is well put together. I know you didn't read this review just for the appearance, so let's get started with what really matters, the quality of the haircut. Just so you know my hair is very coarse, and without conditioner, drier than a desert. This didn't matter. Tiffany reviewed and discussed to ensure my hair would be managed correctly and then proceeded. The transparency and honesty was very refreshing as you absolutely don't want to sit with someone that thinks they know it all to then screw up your do'. Partial highlights on top and a trim on the sides; that's what I got. Sarah helped out as well and showcased her expertise when it came to the finite details of men's hair. I became comfortable with revealing more about my personal self, which can be a true testimony to the humbling yet luxuriate atmosphere the studio bestows. The price was reasonable, around the 130 mark, but that was to be expected. In conclusion, I definitely would recommend to my friends, and so my friends, I strongly suggest you consider taking a visit. read more

I went in for a Bleach retouch & my Stylist Karen was friendly but had ZERO care for the health of my hair. Mid bleach sesh I started feeling really unsure if she can execute what I originally came in for ( root tap look/ root smudge) I bounced around ideas because I was NOT fully confident in her adding color to my already bleached hair & rightfully so because I have a few UNBLEACHED dark SPLOTCHES & extremely banded hair now. luckily the crown of my hair is masking & passable to present myself in my day to day, but my scalp is SCABBING & I don't have a "sensitive scalp" Having been Blonde for a year now, this has NEVER happened to me before. I'm pretty sad about the quality decline of my hair from this one session. I paid $220 & left with wet hair & a lumpy, tender scalp that later Scabbed My stylist blow dried an inch section of my hair to check the tone & sent me on my way I've never been this dissatisfied with a hair service before, Because of this I will not be a returning customer. read more

I got a hair cut in July 2021. I'd rather not call out the stylist but I was not very happy with my experience. She was very rough in my hair and each time I mentioned I was a bit tender headed she wouldn't adjust herself. I'm not even tender headed but she was rough! My hair was wet and she was brushing so messy I knew that couldn't be good for my hair. She seems quite annoyed with my hair at times which had never happened with other stylist and my hair was healthy at the time! I've had bleached dried out hair before and never had a stylist have this much trouble. She'd get my hair in tangles while wet and ask me a bit annoyed if this happened a lot to me. I told her no not really and she rolled her eyes. Not sure if she didn't think I saw her... She really did put my hair in many tangles it was very odd. I'd never had a stylist do that so much to me before. She was very rough trying to get out my tangles that it really did hurt! And I was concerned because I was keeping my hair healthy and I was afraid she was really damaging it. She didn't really remove all the shampoo from my hair when she gave it a wash and I could tell because my hair still felt it and you could honestly hear it in my hair. Sounds weird but if you know you know! I can't give her a 1 star because she did do the cut I wanted but it was a very uncomfortable experience. She kind of mocked the haircut I wanted... I asked for layers and curtain bangs and she goes "ah curtain bangs that's very popular right now. Everyone is getting it it's starting to get boring" in a very flat bored tone. I did an awkward laugh and just hoped for the best. Like I said she gave me the cut I wanted but the experience was enough that I'd never go back. I used to follow the salon on insta and checked out each stylists page to see who I wanted. I really thought I'd like her but it wasn't worth it. She may have given me the cut I wanted but it was uncomfortable and I had to wash my hair the day I got home because I didn't feel clean. Yes when you go to a salon the main point is a hair cut but it's also the experience. The feeling of freshly washed and cut hair matters! I gave this place a try but it wasn't for me. I could always try a different stylist at the salon but she really made me uncomfortable I wouldn't want her to see me with another stylist and get offended. The service was great, the work not so much, 3 days later my hair looked greenish is a lot of areas, I pretty much had and still have 3 different color shades in my hair. I went back and achieved the blue I initially paid 300 dollars for..to end up again with 4 different colors, the blue I wanted, the purple she didn't bit blend in well enough enough, and teal/ greenish on the sides above my ears. Omg what a cute place! I follow Vanessa on Instagram and have seen how hard she's worked and it certainly shows in her studio! Everything from top to bottom has the cutest detail! I was excited to get my haircut the moment I walked in! They had a dog greet me the 1st time I went in, which I thought was adorable! I was a bit disappointed that I was rescheduled since she (Angela) was so busy! It ended up working in my favor and I got a free truly (alcoholic seltzer) lol well the next day I finally came in and Angela my stylist was there helping someone and was talking to another client and then she also had me! She was juggling the salon all by herself and still managed to leave my hair awesome! I loved that when I asked her what she suggested she gave her opinion and made my hair look great! I went to get my hair done a few months ago, the studio aesthetic was cute and the manager was friendly. I specifically had an issue with my stylist Tiffany, who unapologetically severely damaged my hair. This was our first time booking at The Color Studio. Me and my sister booked our own appointments 30 mins apart from each other. Once we get there, it's only one stylist (Tiffany) working on BOTH of us, simultaneously, which was odd since it was a slow Sunday. We were both getting a blonde balayage. I am naturally blonde and my sister is brunette so I suggested Tiffany she should start on my sister first. Tiffany starts on my sister and then has an assistant rinse the first half of her hair and then begins on my hair. My sister comes back with the wrong side rinsed... so tiffany abandons my hair and starts to correct my sisters hair. She leaves the bleach in my hair the entire time, almost an HOUR AND A HALF. No one tends to me while my sister is getting her hair fixed. Once my hair is rinsed, it is blue, fragile, and falling out! It was obviously super damaged, to the point where other customers in the salon are looking at me with sympathy. Tiffany completely ignores the fact that I am obviously distraught about my hair. I was speechless so my sister paid, tipped, and left. I called the manager the next day and described my issue. She invited me back to the salon to correct it. Tiffany was there and instead of apologizing, she has the audacity to tell me, "Next time, maybe don't come with your sister, since you need more attention." Just wow. read more
