What a great spot by Mercado di San Miguel! I hope that it will get more reviews and nice pictures for the guests to trust their noses and go inside to explore. This is what we did even though I was a bit hesitant about. Never regretted we trusted our noses and the smell. First of all, thank a lot to the host - the British guy - he was back and forth helping other servers and bartender and attending tables. Very funny comments from him also! Now to the point. Food. It's very hard to surprise us with taste, but this place did. Thank you chef for being able to put all your passion and experience and deliver those small plates to the palate at the highest level. We had risotto de boletus and manchego (wild mushroom and manchego cheese risotto) that has not only an incredible cheesy mushroom aftertaste but also a crunchy piece of parmigiano that finishes perfectly a small tapa fish. Now to my favorite buratta cremosa con tomate raf dulce (fresh creamy buratta with sweet raf tomato) , oh my Spanish chef - you are competing big time with Italian made buratta and you are winning, the buratta is the creamiest and tastiest buratta we have ever tried outside Italy, the raf tomato is just something you can't forget the taste about and it addition to it you feel every herb in that pesto! Awesome job Chef! And to finish our gourmet experience we had carillera en costra de panceta (slow roasted beed wrapped in pancetta). Don't expect anything big, but be ready to give your palate an incredible experience of the balance between the most tender meat wrapped and bacon with a touch of garlic purée, a few tea spoons but what an ensemble ! Thank you Amicis - we will remember our food experience at your place !

Absolutely fresh, flavorful, delicious food. Accommodating service and all beautifully presented. Ambiance, music, and decor was 5 Star plus. A must see for lunch or dinner. Reservations recommended for dinner...shared a table at lunch with 10 friends..we all loved this place.

Mexican burger: guac and goat cheese (I subbed provolone since I'm pregnant and can't eat soft cheese). Comes with house potatoes.

My cousin and I stopped in for lunch. He ordered the steak and I ordered the Mexican burger w guac. Both came with their house potatoes. Super yummy! Most of the servers speak English and are very accommodating. Very close to Mercado de San Miguel and not as expensive. Plus, we watched a futbol game the while time and we were never rushed.

This is my second Madrid restaurant that I gave eaten at and this place is spacious than the first restaurant that visited. Love the atmosphere and the food was delicious

Roast pork with app puree, walnuts, and parmesan cheese.

Great service, reasonable prices, and relaxing atmosphere. We had the special deal that had your choice of starter, main course, drink and dessert for 12.50 euro.

Absolutely delicious! Don't be hooked in by the nearby tourist traps in Plaza Mayor. Walk a block for serious quality. This place has authentic tapas, incredible salads and an award wining salmorejo (essentially a thick gazpacho). Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and fantastic sangria! What more could you ask for?

We tried the goat cheese salad, steak and pork. We also had sweet white wine and beer. We loved all of them. We were worried since we are right next to the tourist area and that the food does not taste good. Everyone here speaks English so there is no issue. We came early at 630pm but they dont start serving dinner until 8. but they were nice to take our dinner orders and serve us. Thank u!

Food great! One of the best we've had in Spain. Very friendly staff. Did not blink an eye when we asked to share entrees and dessert.

You have the option between a bowl and a pita for both, and all the proper accoutrements for a proper falafel. The hummus is exactly what you want and the tahini is to die for. The vibes here are great too, grab a beer with whatever you order. My only complaint would be that they do not give enough fries for the price. other than that, if you are looking for a good falafel or sabich, make sure to give Falafelria a chance.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

The service is a little bit on the slower side, but each dish comes out plated very well. They have a good variety of dishes and the portion sizes are decent for sharing. The majority of tables are in their own little alcove making it very private and romantic. My husband and I felt like we were secluded in our little space. We started with delicious glasses of wine and the amuse Bouche (they do charge for this, 2 euro per person). We shared the butterfish and arroz in a creamy red sauce with seafood. The food was delicious! We ended the meal with a light and airy cheesecake. They added a candle for my celebration! We were amazed that this entire meal came out to only about $60! Wild! It was such a delicious meal and such a gorgeous setting, especially for the price.

What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)
