Wow! We loved everything about barganzo. As Americans we are not used to the late meal times that Spaniards do so we booked the earliest dinner reservation that barganzo had at 7:30pm. It was quiet when we got there and quickly started filling up. We did the ala carte menu, not the tasting menu-we saw someone else having the tasting menu and we'll definitely have to come back to try it. Everything we ordered was delicious, full of flavor, and tasted so fresh. The pricing was very reasonable too considering it's a kosher restaurant and the quality of the food they serve. Highly recommend.

At the end of our trip to Spain I was starting to feel the effects of too much fried food and jamon. So I sought out something different and came up with Barganzo. They had just moved next door so I nearly missed them, luckily an employee outside set me straight. Went inside to a very sleek, modern interior. We did not have a reservation so we ate at the bar. It was comfortable enough and the service was super quick. The menu was online so I will not be able to give the official names to the dishes, but just a description. Shared all these dishes with my husband. We had the zatar swirled bread with labneh and puréed tomatoes. The bread had a slightly sweet flavor, the labneh and tomatoes were perfect compliments. I would have liked the bread to be just a tad warmer, but otherwise delish 9/10. The garbanzo salad was just what the doctor ordered. Fresh, yummy veggies and just a hint of tahini. 10/10 My husband ordered the raviolis Shishparak- which were served with spinach, pine nuts, and warm yogurt. These were off the charts delicious. Super unique flavor, that I will be craving from here on out. 10/10 At the start of the meal we pre-ordered the knafe desert, which was warm cheese wrapped in angel hair phyllo(?) and topped with syrup/honey and pistachios. I have never had anything like it. It was rich, creamy, gooey, crunchy and sweetness all wrapped in one. We were also given a sweet lemon arak shot called arakcito that was a fun digestif. Amazing lunch in a unique restaurant. Absolutely loved our meal here!

I had high hopes but I was underwhelmed. It's insanely expensive for vegetables. I know kosher restaurants are typically extra but this was absurd. Falafel was good - came with a little tahini but no pita. We ordered one hummus with eggplant but they said it's seasonable and they aren't serving it. Fine. Then we ordered the hummus fate that had a bunch of stuff in it but no hummus. Just tahini. It was meh. Only came with one pita... it was just underwhelming. I didn't need a €50 lunch that was meh.

Barganzo is the real deal when it comes to Middle Eastern food in Madrid! The hummus is incredibly smooth and flavorful, definitely some of the best I've had. The falafel is moist and delicious while the pita is fluffy and the perfect vessel for scooping up the hummus. The menu is ideal for sharing a variety of items family style, since the hummus and salads come in large portions and the other items like the falafel and fried eggplant are ordered mezze style. If you're feeling more like a full meal, they have pita sandwiches and falafel plates, too. They have plenty for vegans to enjoy and they even offer a gluten free pita! The restaurant is clean, service is friendly. Prices are a little high, but I would say they're not too bad if you plant to go with a group of friends and split a bunch of items. Reservations recommended as the space is small. I will definitely be back for more hummus, falafel and good vibes!

You have the option between a bowl and a pita for both, and all the proper accoutrements for a proper falafel. The hummus is exactly what you want and the tahini is to die for. The vibes here are great too, grab a beer with whatever you order. My only complaint would be that they do not give enough fries for the price. other than that, if you are looking for a good falafel or sabich, make sure to give Falafelria a chance.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

Their Cous Cous pots are sublime and their chicken in a pastry was superb. It's supposed to be tagine but they don't call it that. My calabaza and milk (yes, leche) pot was a hit and the hubster's fave. And all super cheap for the quality of cooking you're getting. Let's not overlook the perfection that is their hummus. One note, however, the hubster's niece found a hair in her dish. Ew, I know, but the food is seriously that delicious that I'd overlook it. They also have seating on the floor but since my mother-in-law wouldn't be comfy, we opted for a large table in the back. If you come, ask for the floor seating for a more authentico experience.

The beers you enjoy less than the company you're with, and the food less still. These sorts of experiences are a dime a dozen. Beirut, however, offers glorious respite from the monotony of these endless falafel-shop copies. Its terrace, in spite of being situated on a corner of a crossroad, is quiet and shady, and seats twenty or so. The ambiance here, in a less-traveled nook of the neighborhood, leaves Calle Argumosa (and all of its falafel shops) in the dust. For the same price that you can buy a gut-bomb elsewhere, you can have a delicious shawarma, falafel, or kebab prepared to order, in the moment at Beirut. There is a proper kitchen run by a woman and who I assume is her husband. The latter waits tables and has always been friendly with us. When I have brought my Spanish friends here, to this relative unknown, they have all been thrilled saying that it's just about impossible to find common street food this good elsewhere. Oh, and they also offer combo platters that are WAY TOO MUCH food for one person, replete with a variety of sauces (all delicious). And that's why I've taken the time to write this review: Beirut, compared to the other Moroccan/Middle Eastern places around Lavapies, offers a far superior experience both in food quality and setting. It's one of my favorite restaurants to visit.

They saw us (the place is tiny, only 9 tables) but were busy fixing some mess --looked like delayed orders. We ordered the veg combo plate: hummus, falafel, mohamara, baba ganouj, grape leaves & pita bread for 10€. A generous & nicely-presented plate arrived. Everything was fine except the hummus, which was watery & insipid. The baba wasn't quite up to par either; it lacked that nice smokey flavor but worse, tasted a bit acidic, like it was a day or two past its prime. The guys running the place were nice, but how do you f*ck up hummus & baba ghanouj?
