Paella de pollo
Candace W.

I went with a large group recently and they did an amazing job of accommodating us!! The table was large and interior is very modern and clean. Service was attentive and kind, even gave the group free shots at the end! As for the food, I'm allergic to shellfish so I don't have a ton to say here. The paella de pollo was good, the duck paella was definitely my favorite though (well seasoned and reminded my friends of gumbo). My friends loved the black paella which had squid ink the most. We had hummus and cracker appetizers which came with only 5 crackers, but free bread. Sangria was delicious!! Overall: a little pricey but would recommend for big groups who can split the cost and are accommodated well by the restaurant. Food was authentic Spanish and good but not my favorite quintessential Spanish restaurant in Madrid

Walked in on Sunday night, thankfully people with a reservation didn't show up. Definitely worth making a reservation. Half grilled cuttlefish (11) was incredible, soft, chewy, full of flavor, cream and lemon to flavor was excellent. They do allow paella for one. I got the seafood paella (27). Flavor, crispy at the edges, shrimp, squid, muscles. Definitely recommend. Excellent service, will be back

You need a reservation! We tried to eat hear a few days before and they were booked . Call and save your spot. The ambiance is nice , chill , clean and crisp . The seating is small like most of Spain compared to the US but it's doable . Love that each area has a place for jackets or purses. The food was good not the best we had in Spain but it was good.

From Chicago, my daughter suggested we try MV for paellas. This is a very nice restaurant. Ambiance is nice, a lot of greenery. The service was excellent. We ordered the cheese with pistachio (5/5) for a starter. The combination was delicious! My girls got sangrias to drink, and I ordered a Mahou, which was on tap. It is a lighter beer, creamy foam--good! We ordered two paellas--the vegetable rice (4/5) had seasoned veggies, and the country rice (5/5) had chicken, rabbit, and pork. The rice was a bit more flavorful than the veggie paellla. Highly recommended!

Wow what a fantastic experience last night at Marina Ventura! The service from Miguel was perfect: helpful, kind, timely. He was generous with our cocktails and brought us little after dinner shots (on the house). The food here is outstanding. We started with the fresh spinach salad with sun dried tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, and cured duck. They serve this with gorgeous local olive oil, salt, and sherry vinegar so that you can dress it as you like. The duck was the star here and a perfect start to our meal. Don't miss the bread and hummus...nominal charge for this but worth it! The seafood paella was the best we've ever had. Loaded with fresh seafood, and so flavorful. We seemed to be surrounded by locals which is what we look for when traveling (not touristy places). Highly recommend this restaurant (reserve ahead if you can)!!

One of the best meals we had in Madrid! We initially were unable to get in same day without a reservation. Walked in and picked our time for the next day. We had multiple starters including the Tomato garlic soup, Tina salad and seafood paella. They had a special crispy GF bread for my husband who was thrilled with the consistency! The seafood paella was amazing! Everything was wonderful. With all the choices in Madrid, this one is a winner!!!

Paella de marisco

Paella is a traditional dish based on Valencia rice that is very popular in Spain. We chose Marina Ventura based on the recommendation from our concierge. Typically paella is prepared in a pan to serve two, and it takes a while to cook specially for you. So order it early and enjoy a leisurely appetizer while it is simmering in the paella (iron pan). There are other, similar dishes that use different rice, such as black rice, or soft rices. We had seafood paella, but all looked wonderful. We enjoyed an appetizer with fried brie, goat cheese and sweet onions. The atmosphere is more modern, with a long row of tables for two. Service was efficient, but minimal. The red prawns, or gambas, are served in the shells. Ours were huge and the shells very soft, meaning they had molted recently. This subtle touch makes it easy to separate whilst dining. A sprinkling of small clams, mussels and squid added textures and flavor. Delightful

We had the best paella dinner here. The space is fresh, but still some charm. Staff were all wonderful. A reservation is probably suggested, but they accommodated us with the knowledge that we had 1.5 hours to eat due to another reservation for that table. That was plenty of time to enjoy the great meat. This is a lively place, they even end the meal with a nice after dinner drink on the house. The fried cheese was superb, anchovies as well. We had a shrimp, seafood combo rice dish...could easily return and enjoy other items on the menu. A big thumbs up and a real deal paella (among many other things on the menu) restaurant - better quality than a tapas bar (although there is definitely a time and place for paella at a tapas bar).

Serving some of the best paella in Madrid, and certainly the best fried squid in all of Spain, Marina Ventura is a narrow restaurant tucked into one of many side streets hiding in the city. So you won't accidentally stumble upon this place. You have to be determined to find it. Reservations are recommended. With a plethora of different paellas from which to choose, we selected the classic seafood version. The 35-minute wait for a fresh paella to be made is worth it. There is a two-person minimum charge required to eat these hefty entrees, and this particular paella is adorned with large shrimp, three huge mussels, and tiny clams. Mixed into the flavorful rice are calamari rings as well as smaller shrimp and mussel meat. The rice truly takes on the essence of seafood and the walk to this restaurant is worth the effort.

Amazing spot for paella - fresh seafood, great sangria and amazing paella. Only downside is that service was not so good.. Our hostess seemed very upset with us for getting tap water (instead of alcohol at first) and then was upset by where our jug of sangria was placed (by another server) and very roughly moved stuff around. Saw how she was treating everyone else very kindly so was a bit saddening to see this treatment. We got the seafood paella (minimum order of 2 people's worth), which took ~35-40min to prepare since it's made fresh! Yum. They did not skimp out on any of the seafood, which were all huge and so fresh. Loved the shrimps but it was a bit of a pain to peel them at the table (are we supposed to eat the shells or something??). Also got a jug of sangria ($14), which was amazing and the best sangria I had my entire trip. Was made quite strong and very flavorful. They also gave us complimentary shots at the end of the meal which was an interesting touch..

Double date night!! As we strolled around Madrid with my husband, my brother and his wife we started to get hungry and started to look up online some places with really good reviews for dinner and we discovered this one. Walked over and sat down for dinner and I was amazed by a couple of things. 1. What a cute place! Perfect for date night 2. Very accommodating - we had our daughter with us and the waiter had our table ready with a kid seat and kids stuff. 3. The food and the drinks were AMZING 10/10

Breaded and fried Baby Squid

Best Paella in Madrid. Best Restaurant in Madrid. Ordered the Baby Squid and Paellas and they were PERFECT. The batter and crisp the Squid has was amazing and so flavorful. The rice dishes were some how even better. I could be just ate the rice plain it was so good. The portion size is huge and well worth the price. For the seafood paella for example, Unlike other places, they do not skimp out on the prawns. So juicy. They also serve fire sangrias, not too sweet and perfect for a hot day. The staff is also very friendly and restaurant is beautiful and clean

This was recommended by friends, a must do. We certainly weren't disappointed. The servers (Miguel and Laura) were very friendly and welcoming, there was no pressure from the staff. There were many choices of the paella. We chose the duck and also the chicken with rabbit, they were very delicious which big portions. The decoration and the atmosphere were wonderful. This place is highly recommended.

The cuttlefish in the black paella was not salty like the grilled cuttlefish, and was the most amazing texture.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place?
