Great luncheon featuring duck confit risotto.

Terrific food, Hospitality, quick and attentive service. No big name, but just the wonderful food and experience we had in Madrid or Spain. The meal: -Sticky rice with duck confit, mushrooms and black truffle oil. (with fresh grilled Foie). -Madrid-style tripe with a lot of nose. -Grilled old cow burger with Iberian veil, baked provolone, Zamora boletus and fresh grilled foie, served on black beer brioche with truffled Peking sauce mayonnaise and accompanied by French fries. -Banana and dulce de leche cake. (Banofi pie) Red and Cava sangria to drink.

Great location, small interior, good beer and tapas selection. I stopped here with a friend while seeking shelter from the rain so we ordered a few tapas and some drinks. We shared the Iberico Croquettes which were very good - crispy and creamy. We also shared the Sheep's Cheese Plate which had some excellent cheeses on it. For my meal I ordered the Duck Confit and Truffle Rissoto, and they were both incredible. Our service was quick and friendly, even though the restaurant was very busy from other coming in quickly from the rain. If you're looking for a quick bite and a drink, or even a full meal, Serafina is a good choice.

Quick stop for a cocktail, great vibe with friendly staff. Drinks were poured at the table for a more intimate experience. Patio seating as well as indoors.

My girlfriend and I came here for the New Year's Eve dinner special and because of the restaurant's close location to the Square. Although it was a bit weird having to pay in cash in person prior to our meal in order to maintain our reservation, we're very glad we went with this place, overall. The food was delicious and bountiful, as evidenced in the photos I uploaded. The festivities, and champagne were also extremely free-flowing, which we obviously greatly appreciated given the occasion. If it's NYE and you're in Madrid, definitely go here.

    Wontons at Serafina in Madrid

Last night in Madrid, Serafina was my last stop for tapas. I ordered a beer and it was nice and cold, served with the usual side of tapas. A large plate of green olives in this case. I opted for just one course here, the wontons which on the menu were crab filled but on my plate were filled with something else. Carrots and other vegetables? They were good, just not what I expected.

Best risotto! Delicious earthy flavor. You won't be disappointed.

This is my second trip back to Madrid and my first stop was Serafina. Cute tapa bar with excellent food. Great sangrias and croquettes. Order the Risotto, made with truffle oil and tasty mushrooms. Start off with grilled prawns or prawn wontons. You will leave completely satisfied and the staff tend to every need. Will always come back.

In Spain as a tourist and found this on Yelp. The food was amazing and it's the best sangria I've ever had. The food was an art form and tasted just as good.

We had not had lunch and have travel all over Madrid today and thought a quick bite of Mediterranean food sounded good. We went inside to find one lady behind the counter working by herself. She is a machine! We were given an English menu and looked around to see what others were eating. I ordered the falafel pita with hummus, tahini, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, spice, pickles and tumeric sauce. This pita was stuffed and it took both hands to eat. My wife ordered the hummus bowl with tahini, onions, chickpeas and olive oil. A perfectly warm, fluffy pita was also included. The falafel balls were great and flavor packed. It took all my energy to finish this packed pita. The tumeric and carrots were a different taste and enjoyable. A good choice. The hummus bowl with soft chickpeas were delicious. Hummas is always great with a warm pita. Again, the value was also good especially for the generous portions. Looking for good value and tasty food, do yourself a favor and stop at Falafeleria at lunch. To the young lady behind the counter, great service and thank you.

The majority of tables are in their own little alcove making it very private and romantic. My husband and I felt like we were secluded in our little space. We started with delicious glasses of wine and the amuse Bouche (they do charge for this, 2 euro per person). We shared the butterfish and arroz in a creamy red sauce with seafood. The food was delicious! We ended the meal with a light and airy cheesecake. They added a candle for my celebration! We were amazed that this entire meal came out to only about $60! Wild! It was such a delicious meal and such a gorgeous setting, especially for the price.

What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)
