We absolutely loved this spot! Tucked away on Calle de la Cruz in the heart of Madrid, it's truly a hidden gem. Hands down, THE best food we had in Spain during our trip. We stumbled in right after our flight since it was right next to where we were staying and were completely blown away. Such a great welcome to the country. The tables are small and intimate and the portions are quite large. We got a bunch of tapas for such a cheap price! I have been to thousands of restaurants in countries around the world, and this might have to take the cake as my favorite. The most genuine, local old time experience of a restaurant where I have found amazing service, surrounded by all commercial businesses. Packed with locals, us as tourists were still treated with great respect. Loved it so much we visited 5 times in 5 days. Great selection of food, the goat cheese red pepper toasty we had every single day. The free tapa was always great as well, rotated between cheese and meat. Place is SMALL, only seats maybe two dozen people. Stools like like they've been there for 50 years, but that is perhaps what makes this place so unique is that it's so authentic. Ended up getting free shots on the last day since they recognized us coming every day for Sangria and tapas. Great wait staff, prices are some of the lowest in this part of the city as well.
