Last evening in Madrid, so I searched Yelp for a good place to go out with a BANG!!! This spot WAS IT! Modern and hipster crowd in this bustling spot filled with a mix of locals and tourists sipping on creatively crafted cocktails and chowing down on some tasty tapas! Service was attentive as could be with the amount of people they had to cater to. It was around 7:45 pm and it was packed with patrons. We managed to grab a table, but the others after us were waiting!! ***OUR PICKS*** VERDE QUE TE QUIERO VERDE and a pineapple juice ~ Both were refreshing and quenched our thirst! 5/5 GRILLED BEEF ENTRAÑAS WITH CHIMICHURRI BUTTER ~ the main star of our meal! Cooked perfectly, seasoned just right and oh so juicy beef! We looked around us and many other tables also ordered this! After days of seafood, small bits of meat, we finally get some BEEF! Loved this! 5/5 SALMON TARTARE WITH LAMB'S LETTUCE, MANGO AND AVOCADO ~ a tad bit salty but we enjoyed the lamb's lettuce which isn't something we've had before in the states. 4/5 PADRÒN PEPPERS ~ every chance we could get, we got padròn peppers. In Spain, they deep fry these guys and they're perfect to munch on with a cocktail! 5/5 SLOW COOKED SPANISH PORK CHEEKS WITH RED WINE AND TAMARINDO SAUCE ~ bursting with flavorful from the highly concentrated sauce and the meat was fork tender! 5/5 Wish we had come here from the start, but grateful we had this one opportunity to try their food and drinks. It made our last evening memorable!

A modern but down to earth cocktail and tapas bar. This was far from the same old tapas joint with the usual fare. Creatively crafted reinterpretated classic drinks. IE A Manhattan with three different local vermouths. Great food. Service was top notch in spite of being busy. Frankly, we went there the first night and probably should have just gone back every day.

Wow! Delicious tapas. Lively restaurant. $15-20 bottles of wine. Great leisurely dinner.

Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with way better than average tapas menu. Burrato and tomatoes were roasted perfectly. Eggplant was tender. The big winner was the portobello stuffed with goat cheese and mango foam - combo of all 3 flavors in one bite was really special.

Our first night in Spain and our experience was amazing. Food delicious and creative. We had the risotto, asparagus, shredded beef balls, spiced potatoes and squid. All amazing and what a wonderful first tapas experience in Spain.

Wow, incredible food and drinks and probably my favorite place I dined at during my time in Spain. My friend and I wanted to eat something local but were getting tired of the typical Spanish tapas so decided to give this place a try, and Entre Santos definitely puts on a unique and delicious twist. Before I talk about the food though, I have to mention the service was pretty bad - our food came out super super slow, one dish came out 90 minutes after we had ordered it and the other dishes like 40 - 60 minutes after we had ordered and it was a frustrating wait since we had other plans in the evening. It was nearly impossible to get a server's attention and they didn't check up on us at all, so although the food was amazing, I docked off a star for their lackluster service. If you have all the time in the world, you should definitely come here but if you're in a rush, it's a no-go. Every dish we ordered was very tasty, but our favorites had to be the grilled squid with apple and mint mayo and the chicken mohammed with harissa sauce and orange confit. So so good and unique combinations we wouldn't have thought to try together before. Somehow the fruity additions to the squid and chicken really work and served as the highlight or bonus point of the dishes. The cocktails we ordered were phenomenal as well, we ordered two each because we had to try more! The Red Hot Chili Rita is fantastic if you're a spicy drink lover like me. Would absolutely come back but would have to plan out 2 - 3 free hours to dine here. Hope they can step up the service in the future.

In one word: Wonderful One of the best meals we've had in Spain. We ordered the four beef homemade croquetas "Ropa vieja" and the grilled beef "Entraña" with chimichurri butter. The croquetas arrived hot and crispy and obviously freshly fried. Meet inside was well-seasoned shredded beef. Four is plenty for two people. The grilled beef "Entraña" with chimichurri butter arrived medium rare as requested. Tasted great. This and the croquetas were a perfect meal for two. All the other plates around us looked great, too. Fried green peppers! Service was excellent. Ambience was friendly. Locals and travelers. Paintings from local artists adorn the walls. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Chueca.

Came back 2 more times during my stay in Madrid! I'd be a regular for sure if I lived here. Last night was a cut steak that was awesome and asked for fries on the side ) fries were crispy and thin but I love them that way) and it was the best cooked steak we've had since being out in Spain. Steak came with sweat potato so technically we didn't need to add fries to the side and the plate "as is" would have been great also. Can't wait to come back again on another trip!

I stopped by Entre Santos in Madrid for dinner recently. The restaurant was friendly for dining solo. Foodwise though, I'd give my experience 7.5/10: - Spicy potatoes: 7.8/10: Good Potatoes. Sauce was nice with the potatoes - Tenderloin: 7.3/10: Nice pieces of beef, good with egg but I expected more...

This restaurant was a such a treat! So much so, I dined two nights in a row while traveling solo in Madrid. The drinks and food were beautifully crafted and delicious. I tried the tomatoes and burrata cheese, fried stuffed mushroom, grilled squid, and salmon tartare. The very talented and friendly bartender Kevin made me refreshing and unique cocktails. Tequila based one night and vodka the next. The crew here is super fun, attentive and hard working. Made the experience worthwhile. Highly recommend!

    Fun cocktails!

They were able to seat our group of 9 people. The food was amazing and all the dishes were on point. They had fun cocktails as well. The servers were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

10 pm Sunday night June 9, 2024. Our Best meal in Madrid. 5+ Stars for the food. Seating not the most comfortable at least not at the high tops in back. Salmon ceviche. Squid. Portobello mushroom. Tenderloin. All excellent. Cannot go wrong with any of the dishes we ordered. Our bill attached. Highly recommend the food.

Super funky (if that's still a word these days). Super fast first tapas. Then progressively slower and slower. (It's Spain). We loved everything put in front of us. Refined tapas. On the ledge seating. Makes it so you don't want to stay long. Servers very nice.

I visited on a rainy Thursday night so there wasn't a large crowd and I grabbed an open seat at the end of the bar. A friendly gentleman gave me a menu and asked what I was interested in. When I mentioned the Old Fashioned, he advised that it was an Amaro-based version without the usual bourbon/whiskey spirit. I noticed a Brooklyn and commented that I sometimes made those at home. Very politely he noted that if I was making them in the US, it wasn't with Amer Picon, which isn't available in the US. He's right. So an actual, real Brooklyn it would be! I thoroughly enjoyed the Brooklyn. I also enjoyed some brief conversation with the bartender who was very good. The kind who uses the spoon or straw to taste each drink to ensure it was made properly. As I was paying my bill and mentioning to the gentleman who initially greeted me that I wanted to bring my business partners here later in the week, he wrote his phone number on a business card and told me to call him in advance as the bar got very busy when it wasn't raining. Turns out, this friendly man is Alberto the owner! Guess I didn't do quite as much research as I could have! I regret we weren't able to make a second visit to 1862 Dry Bar on this particular trip, but it is going to be my first stop next time I'm back in Madrid. Great vibe, excellent staff and a classy and friendly owner.

Certainly, with a place like this, all of the specific *drinks* may well have changed, being that they were all so technical, with so many house or freshly made moving parts, i.e. my favorite kind of nerdy cocktail bar. But presumably they're still making drinks as cool as the were a few months ago. They don't take reservations, so we just got there right when they opened, which is the way to do it. There were only a couple other people there right at 4 that day, but within half an hour, it was completely full. (Also yeah, Yelp says they open at 5 PM, but they... definitely open at 4.) Despite being *very* busy, we never had any difficult ordering drinks, nor getting them back quickly, and I ordered a... bunch of drinks (well, with my wife, who despite not normally being a cocktail person, was definitely drinking her share of all of them.) I absolutely loved the detailed descriptions of exactly how each cocktail is made (I learned a new word, enfleurage! In this case, of cardamom through peanut butter), the amount of effort that clearly went *into* all of them (house-made hop distillate, falernum, gin they re-distilled with pickle brine, the enfleurage, to quote, a "labor-intensive perfume extraction process"...), but more importantly, I can't stress enough, all of their cocktails were absolutely *wonderfully* delicious. All quite unique enough to scratch the itch for weird cocktail nerds like me, who don't want to drink classics, but unique concepts no other bar has done - but also all perfectly balanced and quite complex, both the spirit-forward ones (a Vieux Carre with mango chutney and hop extract instead of Benedictine and bitters! A Negroni that's been aged in ex-sherry barrels in a solera system like a sherry!), and the wacky sweet-savory ones (pisco milk punch and fish sauce! Mezcal and ponzu sauce, clarified through Greek yogurt! Citrus, balsamic, fancy honey and pickle gin!) All their drinks absolutely lived up to the hype. I don't know if any of those drinks are still available, but if not, I'm sure equally inventive ones took their place, so either way, I'd definitely make sure to come back if I happened to back in the area instead of halfway across the planet. We didn't get food here, just drinks - but we absolutely took *full* advantage of the complimentary chips being offered. When we discovered how wonderful their (made in-house) chips were, we kept asking for more. We went through a *bunch* of little plates of chips. Especially as they went *particularly* well with all of the cocktails, again, both spirit-forward and interestingly sweet-savory-funky cocktails, paired really well with craft chips. The drinks already made this place a 5/5, but with the free all-you-want craft chips? That's like a 6 out of 5.

Everyone must have been hung over from the night before. Or still sleeping. The die hard NYE revelers stay out until about 7 AM in this country. Not me. I can't hang. Overall, the cocktail menu has about 20 of the usual suspects: martini, strawberry daiquiri, mai tai, manhattan, sidecar, etc. No prices in the menu but expect to pay about 7,25 each. In other words, about half the price you'd pay at a cocktail bar in New York, so a major bargain for me. The sidecar was delicious, as was the whiskey sour. While not explicitly clear in the menu, this place will either create cocktails for you or let you create your own. Just ask. Desperately wanting paella across the street at La Barraca, the unoccupied waiter took the time to run across the street to check on availability, then again to make a reservation. Excellent customer service, though he was taken aback at my gesture of a small tip for his efforts, which he reluctantly accepted. Bottom line is there really aren't that many bars in Madrid dedicated specifically to cocktails, despite the size of the city. Consider this place a rarity. Other: Very classy decor. Cool music. Chill vibes. Free wifi zone. No food.
