Supposed to be potato salad, red peppers and tuna. No tuna

We ate here again after a pretty good dinner our first night overlooking a few negative things with service. Tonight it was terrible so my advise is If you don't speak Spanish do not eat here We ordered potato salad with red pepper and tuna. There was no tuna on the plate. The waiter insisted it was in the potato salad but he kept pointing to peas. Hahaha. Next we tried the croquettes. They were terrible. We ate one each and left the rest on the plate. We had shrimp toast which had tiny shrimp that were not cleaned. Do not eat here.

Slightly out of the way if you're in the touristy areas. However, it's an excellent and straightforward cervecería with good food. The bartenders and crew are very friendly, they'll take care of you. Mahou Clasica and Maestra were the go to options. Cheese, chorizo and other tapas were outstanding too. I visited multiple times throughout a stay in Madrid. Every time I had a blast and even met some great folks. I will visit again.

Trying to find a spot for lunch, we were having issues getting a signal to get on Yelp. Seeing a bunch of what appeared to be locals in Cervantes we opted to pop in. We were quickly seated and ordered beers. We ordered croquettes w/ padron peppers and a few pieces of tapas. Marinated bacala w/ red peppers - nice, tender, fresh and clean tasting Shrimp w/ a mayo spread - shrimp were very small and the mayo spread was strong, it was good I'm glad we tried it but I'd never order again. Cod liver spread - tender with soft texture, tasted less like liver and more like a mild tuna fish Salmon - 1 slice of smoked salmon over bread. The salmon was fresh. This was a bad choice on our part. Croquettes and padron peppers were really good, we enjoyed them. Overall everything was good. Our server had zero personality. We enjoyed the food but we wouldn't rush to go back. Give it a try maybe you'll feel different.

Casual tapas bar with entree too. Well, we ordered too much, but delicious They serve olives, and bread. We ordered excellent lamb chops (8 small) grilled and crisp with fries. Fantastic Grilled artichokes- cut down so hearts and nearby leafs. We also had raw "natural " mussels. ( In USA, usually only get cooked. ) Service very friendly, very quick.. Highly recommended . (Rated 4 because of casual). Locals and tourists. They also had inexpensive tapas.

Came for lunch after doing the Prado and had a decent meal here. Two people and I split a Spanish omelette, octopus, green salad and wild mushroom topped toast. The mushroom toast was the highlight - definitely would recommend that. Octopus could have been fresher but it was good. 3.5 stars.

This restaurant was part of a tapas food tour. We enjoyed the experience and stopped by the next day for lunch. I selected Pulpo - we have enjoyed this dish all over Spain, and while this was a bit expensive, it was delicious. My husband ordered Tripe and a side of garlicky potatoes. Again, both were very good. Service was good. I would have rated it great if we had received our beverages more quickly. After trekking around the city we were pretty darn thirsty! The menu does offer an English translation and our server knew a little English so the ordering process was a breeze. With two beers and two house wines, our bill was about 55 euros. Be sure to ask for the house wine or you might get something more expensive. Again, our meal was more expensive than we have normally paid but it is certainly a locals hangout.

A nice little hole in the wall place - literally. It's very cramp in the restaurant. Food was good. Service was slow. It's very noisy. If you order try to have them space it out or you won't have room on the table.

Very delicious restaurant steps away from our hotel. The decor is beautiful and reminds me of a costal restaurant. Our guide stated the bright colors represented the south of Spain. This was the last stop on our food tour with our local guide. This restaurant is known for their seafood, so we followed the recommendation and ordered seafood. We sat down in the back room and there was ample seating. My favorite thing was the garlic shrimp that was sizzling when it came to the table. It was so flavor filled. We had these peppers that reminded me of shishito peppers but some were spicy and some sweet. Then we had the octopus with a seasoning I think was similar to paprika. It was recommended to order the white wine here. I am glad I did because it was refreshing and not too sweet.

We stopped here during a tapas tour we took in Madrid. It was our first stop and we were starving! We stood at the bar and ordered drinks. Our server brought us the drinks and some light tapas. We ordered the pulpo, which was delicious and a large portion. This place gets busy, so be prepared to be aggressive while getting the server's attention. It is near many other good tapas bars, which makes it a great place to build your own tour!

Had dinner here with a large group of friends. So delicious. We shared plates and I sampled mushroom with aioli on bread, octopus, potato and iberico ham croquetas, gambas ( shrimp scampi dish) and a few glasses of white wine. What a perfect place to end a great night with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Would definitely come back when I visit Spain in the future!

If you made this far Madrid is the right place to explore local food. From the terracota tiles to the signature paper napkin all over the floor Cerveceria Cervantes is a local joint where you can taste the simple and flavored Spanish tapas. I enjoyed the Tostadas that are served with all types of tops and also the Gambas cocidas. Locals are the customers and prices are very reasonable..

This place is totally wonderful. The best dishes are the seafood ones, and the wines are pretty decent also. Oscar is their server, who is friendly and efficient. He doesn't speak much English, but if you try to practice your Spanish on him, he bends over backwards to accommodate you. The calamari dish is delicious: some of the best we've had. The shrimp fritters and salpacon de mariscos are also very good. The vino Blanco is pretty decent, without being too sweet or dry, but they also serve some decent rioja. We visited 2 nights while in Madrid, and I would go back in a minute.

Came to this street based on the recommendation of rick steves and decided on this place bc we saw someone eating beautiful eggs with bright orange yolks. We ordered some drinks and settled in for a slice of omelet, garlic shrimp and eggs with potatoes and ham. They gave us a small plate of cheese and a basket of bread. A great nice lunch near our hotel. The waiter did not speak much English but we were able to figure things out. Nice neighborhood spot.

While I missed a Micky D's trip while I was in Spain, I was able to keep up my Starbucks record...but I was able to check off another tradition - visit a local brewery in every country I visit. Well, I was actually able to visit two while in Spain. YOLO. Came in the Fabrica Maravillas after spotting it on Yelp - since it was a quick (relatively) walk from our hotel. I was on a mission to connect with my good bud - Mr. Yelp Madrid, Lolo R - and this was where we decided to meet up to have a beer and catch up. Super friendly bartender that explained each beer for us and recommended the one I went with - The Dark Ale. It was fantastic. Sweet notes, perfectly carbonated and not too heavy. Their glasses are in 3 sizes - small, medium, large. The Medium is a good size as it is. 2 mediums and a small was only 10€. I also got a bottle that was €4 (50cl). It was hoppy and went PERFECT with a fried seafood plate I had it with when I got back home. Small tap room - as are all places in Spain, but they are brewing up some good stuff! Check them out! Side note - Shout out to the guy in there that was also from Fort Lauderdale and overheard me talking and immediately hollered out "FUNKY BUDDHA!" haha super nice guy, hope you find this review dude. Always nice to know my home team brewery is that well known.
