Within 15 minutes all the tables were full. Our servers were nice and attentive. I was happy that there were multiple vegetarian tapas to choose from (which are hard to find in Madrid). We ordered a spinach and ricotta empanada, a sweet onion and cheese empanada, and a Margherita pizza. Everything was delicious. The pizza was excellent. We couldn't finish everything. Stopped by for lunch today. We ordered the chicken curry toast and meat and spinach and ricotta empanadas. We also got two glasses of sangria which were served in generous portions. The chicken curry toast was flavorful and the slice of bread it was spread on was perfectly crispy. The empanadas were both delicious and perfectly spiced but I do wish they could have been warmer, especially the one with cheese. The server was very nice and attentive. read more

This place was such a great find! If you want a place to chill or chat with some affordable wine and good eat this is it. I didn't even order food but my server kept giving me little bites to try and man was it fresh and yummy. I had a tuna and salmon bite and if I was hungrier I would've definitely ordered more but I had just eaten before unfortunately. So happy to find this place on my Madrid escapades. He also let me charge my phone here. A constant struggle for me here as I lost my portable charger lol. Very relaxing and nice place would recommend. read more

Strolled into this cute spot because I was in the area being a tourist... it did not disappoint! I had the carne empanada (so juicy and the perfect amount of crunch) and I also had a Tosta de pollo which i thiught was good but the empanada was the star of my dinner lol. Came here for dinner and got the caprese empanada, meat empanada, and squid croquette. The caprese empanada was surprisingly delicious! The meat one was solid. The squid croquettes were interesting, but not the tastiest. The inside of the croquettes was black, which made it a little sketchy-looking, but it was cool they had small, chewy pieces of squid inside. read more

The food and service were both very quick. We got drinks within 5 minutes and food within about 15. My sister, Dad, and I all shared the Napolitana pizza which was SO good! Normally, the food gets a little boring and repetitive but here was the opposite! Yummy flavors and awesome ambiance. We also ordered the spinach and mushroom quiche. I LOVE quiches so I think my view on the quiche has lots of experience behind it. The crust was crunchy and flaky, the flavor was very delicious. Very nice little spot. A small selection of wine, but what we had was very tasty. The only moscato on the menu was light and refreshing. The Zinio rioja was very nicely paired with the cheese and meat plate. We ordered an off menu meat and cheese plate which was 18 euros. I recommend asking if they have this available when you visit. Great super small tapas spot! It felt a strong family vibe while dining, all the locals know the owners and kept coming in and saying hello to them. It was like a rotating door. The toast was out of this world! I wasn't going to get it but I saw a table next to us order and I was curious. It was worth it and affordable. Heavy on the Brie, light balsamic and fresh arugula. The toast was thick and toasted perfect. I initially came here for the empanadas I ordered a chicken and a beef one. They were baked and had a decent portion of filling but my taste buds gravitated towards the toast. The wine was decent and affordable, the tables are very small so get ready to be on top of people. We call it the snuggle factor when your eating. I would recommend this location for a tapa experience. Just get ready to be in tight quarters and you will have to speak loudly. Excellent lunch stop! We each ordered an open face sandwich (I had the chicken, husband had the ham) and split a salad. It was the perfect portion and the honey mustard dressing was delicious! We came for early dinner so it wasn't too crowded. This doesn't have typical tapas options but has more tostadas and pizza options. We ordered vegetarian empanadas and pizza. We ordered a Tosta w/ Camembert and I thought it was supposed to be Chicken, but it came with Pork. (It was still tasty, but my partner doesn't eat pork.) The absolute STAND-OUT though was the meat empanada! It was extremely tasty. One thing to note is that there are at least 2 different posted menus, the main one and one with "specials" and the menu that we were given. After a few disappointing restaurant experiences with just walking into a place off the street, I turned to Yelp for somewhere within walking distance of the Parque del Buen Retiro and found Tinto y Tapas. This place was an absolute gem. We arrived around 3:30pm and we easily found a table. Our waiter was the nicest person. He spoke English, but didn't immediately treat us like tourists. He made very good recommendations and even warned us that we were ordering too much food. We got the iberico platter - mix of meats and cheese along with AMAZING bread and a tomato dipping sauce. Food and service both really good. It is not on the Main Street but slightly inside but food is absolutely amazing. Must try.

We stumbled across this local hidden gem and were so happy that we did! It is located down a side street and pretty small but packed with locals and has all around great vibes. They specialize in pizzas but we also had one of their salads and it was AMAZING! We split their chicken salad and it had a honey mustard like dressing with caramelized onions, tomatoes, and mixed greens that was insane! The flavors were fabulous and it was LARGE! Then, we split the mozzarella and garlic pizza and that too, was crispy and delish. They also have great wine! Service was super friendly. Prices are reasonable. When in Madrid!!! This place is a must. Found it by accident really, looking for a place that served food after 3PM (because most places close from 3-5PM for siesta) PERO, we found this place nearby & after a short hike down some windy, cobblestone roads, Tintos and Tapas welcomed us in with open arms. Super quaint with high top bar tables and a beautiful display of empanadas on the bar. No wait was a plus as well! We ordered the Palomillo Tosta with Blue Cheese and balsamic reduction (OMG!! A must have), a Caprese empanada and the Goat Cheese salad (I would eat this everyday forever if I could, no joke). Very sweet service and decent price for the amount of food plus coffee and waters we ordered. Also the tosta is a HUGE portion & the A/C is minimal but the free WiFi makes up for it. On our first night in Madrid, we decided to go here based on the pictures from reviewers. It was downpour rain, a mile from our hotel (30 minute walk - an hour in the rain round trip) and IT WAS SO WORTH IT. We're sitting here trying to figure out where to go for night two and are debating if it's wrong to go back again. Good prices, amazing food. If you like meat and cheese, get the whole platter (I can't remember the name, but we were going to order just the jamón and the waiter asked us if we wanted the platter, we said yes, and honestly it was the best decision we've ever made).
