I discovered this place from the one bite app. I didn't bother watching the video review by Dave Portnoy prior to going nor did I know that any tiktok videos. There was an hour wait. For a little pizza place in a plaza I was surprised. Waitress was awesome. The place has NY stuff everywhere. Most the staff had Yankees hats on. They were out of a few things we wanted to order. Keep in mind this was about 7pm on a Sunday. We started with Arancini. We got Italian Beef & Giardiniera, Spinach & Ricotta and Mac & Cheese. It was ok but I wouldn't get it again. Main course we got a large cheese pizza, lasagna and vodka penne with meatballs. The pizza was good but I was expecting more. Biggest gripe was the huge bubbles. I have never in my life had so many in a pizza. I worked at a few pizza joints in my day. Bubbles = bad. Were I am from this pizza would have never been served. The table next to ours gave me a slice of their pizza that had salad on it. Not my thing but I like the thinking outside the box. They were 86 prawns so we got meatballs instead. Meatballs were not good. How they make a red sauce as good as they yet the meatballs lack as much as they do is beyond me. Penne vodka was alright. Not a reorder. Lasagna was amazing. Hot all the way though and the sauce was perfect. Gooey melted cheese everywhere. Unfortunately it was very small. If it was twice the size I'd probably have to order it every week. Amici has blown up on TikTok and we had to check it out. It's busy but the food was SO delicious!! We ordered honey bbq wings, Caesar salad, spaghetti with meatballs, vodka pasta with chicken and a cheese and a vodka slice of pizza. Oh and their famous Shirley temple. The vodka pizza, pasta and wings were the best!! The spaghetti and meatballs I would pass, nothing special along with the Caesar salad. The honey bbq wings had a great flavor and were so crisp! I'm always down for trying a new pizza place. We were aware that Amici has a lot of TikTok fame so coming on a Friday probably wasn't wise. The hostess advised us the wait would be about 20 minutes, then our super nice server warned us that pizzas might be a bit slow coming out. (They were! Amici has tons of people ordering take out.) Another worker came by during dinner to check on us and thanked us for our patience. Those little touches go a long way to show they care about the customers. So- the food. Amici has somehow made Shirley Temples famous. Everyone around us was ordering them so we caved in too. They're really just the overly sweet drinks that have been around for decades- lol- but they give you a nice big glass. We ordered the garlic knots with mozzarella. I thought they were decent but I'd hold the cheese next time. Another patron waiting with us recommended the Grandma Pizza (square pizza, mozzarella, fresh garlic, basil, marinara sauce) and I'm so glad we listened. I can't describe it properly. My husband and I took a bite, locked eyes and went "Mmm, yeah, oh- that's really good!" It's just that thing when the crust, cheese and seasonings are all working together just right and making you happy you came. We ordered a piece of the New York Crumb Cake to go also (imported from Queens). It was a solid dessert but nothing I'd order again. I want to preface that I'm not a huge Pizza person. But if I have a good pizza I am typically impressed. What impressed me about this place is you can order one pizza and make it three different flavors. Which really helped, since we wanted to try multiple things but we all had different taste buds. We started off with the fried zucchini and mushroom appetizer as well as the garlic knots and the fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was probably our least favorite, the garlic knots were good and fluffy, and the zucchini and mushrooms were average. Our first thin crust pizza was pretty darn good. But it was so thin where we could not hold up the pizza and the moisture made most of it soggy, and I hate the feeling and taste of soggy Pizza. Good flavor though, oh and the dough! Our second pizza was the thick one. I loved how fluffy and great their dough tasted, but felt like they definitely skimped on the toppings and the cheese for the price. Bechamel lasagna was okay. I did appreciate their long peeled carrots in my salad though and the raspberry dressing was really good. Alot of the staff kept expoing to the wrong table (ours) which I thought was kind of funny because they don't have many tables in there. We were finally in the area and able to try this pizza we here so much about. Upon entering it was packed but luckily they had some seats at the bar so we were able to sit immediately rather than wait 20 minutes. We were here at lunch time and decided to just get slices which we chose the pepperoni , Hawaiian and caeser salad as well as the grandma slice . Overall the pizza was great the pepperoni was nice and crispy and my daughter said she really liked the caeser salad pizza . The Grandma slice was good but I think a little too much garlic for me . I didn't know anything about this place, but my wife is much more plugged-in to social media than I am. Based on a recommendation from a customer who was waiting next to me, we ordered the Grandma pizza and 6 garlic knots with cheese. I figured getting big pizza for a few bucks more would ensure leftovers. Boy howdy... the big Grandma pizza is a square that is 18" on a side and we only ate 1/4 it in the restaurant. So, I had breakfast, lunch AND dinner. (16 roughly square slices about 4.5" on a side) The place was busy, both inside and via pick-up orders, so they let us know it would be a wait and gave a pretty accurate estimate of 20-25 minutes. Once we were seated, they let us know that the food would also take a bit longer due to all of the other orders. I appreciate the communication. Apparently, Shirley Temples are a thing here. (confused old guy). To see what the big deal was, we both decided to give it a shot. Wow. I don't think I drink that much sugar in a typical week! They're served in a large cup, glowing bright red, with ice and a cherry. If you REALLY like sweet... like you add sugar to Kool-Aid or thought Jolt cola was a good idea, you'll probably love it. I don't think I need to do that again, though. The knots were good and had a pile of melted cheese on them, but I probably don't need them next time. A Caesar salad seemed to be the more popular starter (to kill time while waiting for pizza) order at nearby tables. Noted. The Grandma pizza was great. It smelled amazing and the crust was crunchy on the edges and bottom with plenty of sauce and cheese on top and a generous amount of basil. It was simple but delicious. After a few pieces, I thought it was just a little on the salty side, but that may have been the sweet drink affecting me. I couldn't determine whether it was the crust, sauce, or cheese that was expressing the saltiness, so I'll blame Shirley. The next day, we reheated it in the oven and it was still good. Our waitress was great and attentive despite having a bunch of tables that were turning over pretty regularly and having to deal with the longer than usual (?) wait times. Another staff member came to our table to check on us and thank us for our patience, which was nice since it did take a while. I guess there's a lot of hype about this place and there were several people taking photos of their food. The pizza we had was very good, so we'll be back, though probably not on a weekend and hopefully when it is a little less busy. Finally tried the viral pizza place. It was fine/ good but not necessarily spectacular- greasy pizza, crispy wings and motz sticks are always good. As stated pizza was greasy. Their ceaser salad pizza is a great and unique idea that was probably our favorite of the meal. Came all the way up from Coolidge to try out this viral pizza place from TikTok. Armed with the knowledge that it can be a 3 hour wait, my friend and I arrived at 10am and were happy to be the first people in line! They opened at 11 sharp and we were seated immediately. The interior is pretty open seating, there was a long line by the time 11 rolled around and they seated nearly everyone right at the get go. All of the servers that we interacted with were super friendly and fast workers! The Shirley temple was really crisp and refreshing! I ordered a slice of meat, Hawaiian and the Works pizza. We also got the appetizers garlic knots and their Arancini with mac and cheese. The pizza crust is nice and soft, very delicious tasting, but I was disappointed at the lack of sauce and cheese on the actual pizza. The sauce is good, I just would've preferred a little more and cheese covering the toppings. The garlic knots were a 5/5 for sure and the Arancini, while fresh and hot were also amazing to taste. While the pizza itself was a little underwhelming--it wasn't bad at all! The slices are LOADED with toppings, they just have nothing keeping them in place. A bit torn on this one. For starters, this is clearly a social media darling. We arrived at 11am on a Thursday - 22 minutes to check in and 69 minute wait for a table. So roughly 90 minute wait. The menu covers a lot of ground pizza, pasta, etc... we opted for a single slice of Sicilian deep dish and a full Square Grandma. Both were very good. The thick crust is lots of bread so not sure I would want a whole pizza of it, but the slice was good. The Square Grandma was somewhere in the middle of thick and thin crust. Also, quite tasty. Came here for lunch and was blown away! My fiancé went here with a friend the previous week and said we had to go! The host was very friendly and seated us quickly during the lunch rush. I didn't expect it to be a sit down restaurant but it was a pleasant surprise for sure. We both got the 2 slice + drink lunch combo and it was a GREAT deal! The crust had the perfect bite and crisp and the pepperoni were crispy and delicious! Our favorites in order were the wings, then the garlic knots, then the mozzarella sticks, then the salad, the pasta, and last the pizza. The pizza wasn't our fave as it was not hot when served, it was cold. The wings were delicious as the medium sauce was really good and not at all vinegary. The knots were also really good as they were crispy and the cheese on top was gooey. The pasta was cooked perfectly - al dente, but the sauce had no flavor. Service was great. Our server had a few other tables she was manning along with having to deal with angry impatient customers but yet she still kept our drinks filled and checked on us a few times. I was excited to try Amici pizza after seeing it all over social media! We got there around 5:30 pm on a Friday night, and had to wait till around 7 pm before eating. The wait was the only downside of this place! We started off with 3 appetizers- Cesar salad, calamari, and the mozzarella sticks. All very good and would recommend. They all were around 10 dollars, not too bad for a place that has gone viral! For our main dish the three of us decided to share a large "the works" pizza which is comparable to a supreme pizza, as well as a vodka pasta. Both were amazing and super flavorful. The pizza had a great crust and lots of toppings. We ended our meal with sharing a slice of cannoli cake, which was delightful! It's not the best pizza I've ever had and it's not the worst. It a good pizza spot, one that is worth a visit for someone trying new pizza places, as I was. I visited with two friends. We ordered a Large Cheese and Large Meat Lovers pizza, fries, 2 drinks, an antipasto salad and a tiramisu cake (that was to go). We arrived at 10:50a, they open at 11, and was 11th in line. Promptly at 11 they opened, we were sat immediately and order taken within 10 mins. The pizzas came put about 20 mins later. We were at a table for 4 however it wasn't big enough for all that food, we were crowded and had to get creative. The fries were good, reminded me of Rally's. The salad, I didn't care for, while they did give alot of mean, it was sandwich slices of the meat and provolone, thrown on some romaine lettuce, it was difficult to eat; they should slice up the meats, plus the bowl was tiny, it didn't allow for mixing, so I transferred to a plate. Now for the the pizza. The taste was on point however I am not a fan of soggy dough. I like a crispy dough and one that can hold the weight of the pizza toppings; theirs did not. The bottom half of the pizza slice flopped down amd toppings slide off; you have to eat with two hands. For all the food we paid $70+ tip. Obviously found my way here due to TikTok. Staff: A bunch of chillers living a normal life. Our server was great. The owner as we've all seen online is just as cute and sweet in person. Pizza: The caesar was everything you dreamed about and more 10/10. Grandma surprised me. Looked to be possibly mid, don't let that fool you. Some of the best red sauce I've had on a pizza 9.3/10. I can't tell you how many times I've passed this place. I visit the Goodwill in the shopping center it's located in, A LOT. It was thanks to a family friend that we made our first visit to Amici pizza. Our first order was to go and my husband picked it up so I did not get to see the inside. It's a very simple dining room with some some framed pictures of New York and a collection of those wooden pizza paddle things carved with different baseball teams logos. We ordered medium wings which had the perfect amount of heat. They are nice big and juicy wings, not some of the little tiny wings you get some places. They were really good! We also ordered a large New York style pizza with pepperoni and sausage. It is a really big pizza, and really delicious! One slice is $3.52. That's a little high for a singular slice of plain cheese pizza. The pizza taste pretty good. The flavor is definitely there, but the crust is a little burnt and not in a good crispy way. This is a super popular spot so I understand the wait, but it was a little annoying standing for nearly 15 minutes in a cooped up area with no AC for one slice of pizza. But as for ME, that grease is what puts hair on your chest, so I really don't know what that wimp is talking bout! I enjoyed their buffalo chicken pizza and we ended up going back for a second time to get it. We of course got the Shirley temples which did not disappoint. I'm excited for their new location in Queen Creek. Definitely expect to have a long wait though, patience is a virtue. read more
