[[HIGHLIGHT]]A cool spot in downtown Mesa, the setup feels like mess hall meets brewery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is ordered at the front and brought to the table. My group came in and each ordered a personal size pie. The wait time between each varied, so there was about a 15 minute gap between the first and last orders. Not a big deal, but a bit of confusion when the last to order a sausage and pepperoni came out before the second to last order, which had the same pie type. The pies themselves were good size for one to two people and had lots of toppings. The carnitas was the standout and what I would go back for. Neither the pepperoni and sausage or cheese were memorable, but hit the spot nonetheless. Overall, the pizzas probably sit around a 3.5, with most of the group leaving the large doughy crust behind, but enjoying the pizzas. Pizza shop inside a brewery. Open seating with a bar to order drinks and a walk up counter to order pizza. Options are limited but the options were pretty unique. We tried the freak of the week (without jalapeño) and I really enjoyed it. It's definitely a hearty stick to your ribs kind of pizza that goes great with a beer. Wow. This place has amazing pizza! Came here with my family and we all agreed it's some of the best pizza we've had in a long time, from the dough to the perfectly cooked crust. We tried the pepperoni & sausage and the white P&S pizza, and both were insanely delicious. The pizza was both thick and light at the same time. We also ordered the house salad and... bomb is the only word. That spicy Italian dressing was straight fire! So good that we tried to get the recipe, but they keep it under lock and key. Can't blame them. BUT, they might package and sell it sometime in the near future. Highly recommend checking this spot out. Pretty good little spot for pizza in DT Mesa. I met a group of friends to catch up. Good amount of seating and lots of drink options, if that's what you go for. I ordered the green + white which was a pesto pizza woth garlic and mozz. To my surprise, the garlic was raw. To be honest, I can't remember if this was specified on the menu or not but maybe a quick roast wouldn't hurt because raw garlic just steals the flavor show. I kept leftovers and reheated this the next day which made the cheese meltier and garlic more bearable. My friends got a pizza with maybe a shredded pork and chipotle raspberry sauce, plus pickled jalapenos. That was a flavor explosion and a really good balance of sweet and spicy. Can pizza be a spiritual experience? I say yes lol. We aren't drinkers, but Goat and Ram is in the same space as a brewery. The space was large and had a very cool vibe. You had me at 2000s indie. I haven't had pizza in MONTHS. It's started making me not feel well. Unfortunately, it's one of my partners favorite foods. Before our vacation ended I wanted to find a pizza spot for us to have lunch. It's like I was touched by an Angel girl. Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted by the owner, who asked if we had ever been in. They gave us the rundown of their smaller menu and how everything is made by them (crust, the croutons on their salad is made from bread they made). I'm such a believer in doing a few things really well, and this place knocked my socks off. Not only fantastic, but also the first time pizza has not made me ill in months and months. The care they take for the ingredients and prep really shows. We shared the pepperoni and sausage and added the caramelized onions from another menu item. SO. GOOD. Both my best friend and local pizza expert Wizard of Za recommended Goat & Ram pizza, so of course I had to try it. It's located inside of Phantom Fox Beer Company in downtown Mesa. They have plenty of tables as well as seats at the bar. There are a couple of TVs, so you can catch a game while enjoying some food and beer(s). I got there around 11:30am on a Sunday and was the first customer to order pizza. The whole place got really busy starting around noon. The food menu is small, 4 non-pizza options and 4 pizzas, which is great because I often get decision fatigue. I tried the Cheese pizza which contains three types of cheese - mozzarella, ricotta, and parmesan. I loved how cheesy it was. I mean the cheese pull was perfect! The crust was slightly thin yet still strong enough to hold up the topping. I liked that the outer crust was airy and not dense. Their second standard pizza flavor is Italian & Sausage, then the other two are rotating flavors. They also have a variety of side sauces. I didn't try any, which I regret because the calabrian chili oil and habanero honey sound so good. I don't usually go to downtown Mesa, but I would definitely go back for more of this pizza! read more

I really, really like the food here. I'm lucky that it's right down the street from work, so it's a quick and easy lunch. The staff here is so nice. It's shared a doable with Phantom Fox Beer Company, but because It was the middle of my work day, no beer was purchased. We ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and the hummus. I think the crust on the pizza at goat & ram is the best crust I've ever had. It's delicious! But, to tell you the truth, it's the jalapeno hummus with the bread (I'm guessing it's the amazing pizza dough, but I could be wrong), carrots, and cucumbers that's my favorite - - Yes even more than the pizza! My all time favorite was the mushroom bulgogi pizza and I'm just waiting for them to bring it back. The crumb on their crust is incredible and the best I've ever had. I've had pizza in Italy too, and this tops some of the ones I had over there(though it is more American style. The people behind the kitchen are extremely nice and welcoming. Everybody loves pizza, however, I absolutely love pizza and still hold a standard. This overlaps the first place pizza spot on my list! And the first place spot on my list is a friend's house who makes everything and grows everything from scratch and cooks it on her woodstove. Lol Goat and Ram absolutely blew my mind and taste buds out of the water. Even my toddlers could taste the significant difference between how great this pizza was, and any other pizza they've ever had before. My 4 yr old daughter still talks about the crust, and we went there like two weeks ago. And we went ahead and ordered the weekly special which was called an Irish nacho pizza and it had weird stuff on it like potatoes and salsa and I was saying, "MMMM" every bite. Okay, this is for all you pizza snobs, like me who say you can't get a good pie west of the Mississippi . I grew up eating pizza from the venerated shores of New Haven and the pizzza at goat and ram is as good as it gets anywhere...including New Haven . They dollop a bit of ricotta and smoke their tomato sauce. Why that works is truly beyond me, but it does . The crust is the thing that they get so right. The pepperoni and sausage pizza was pretty good. I didn't personally like the Irish nachos but my friends did. I have been a loyal instagram follower of Goat and Ram for ages but today was the first time I actually tried it! It's inside of a brewery hut very easy to find, it says goat and ram on the window. Service was great, they were accommodating for our baby! We sat on the patio and it was nice! You order at the counter then they bring it to you. I got a potato and leek pizza, my husband got cheese with no ricotta, and we shared cheese toast. It was a lot of food, we had a bunch left over!
