The food is good, but it used to be better before they moved. The wings were so good then. Also, they are just too expensive.

Amici in Monroe is a solid casual dining spot, though it's definitely more Italian-American/American than authentic Italian. We visited on a Friday at 6 PM, and the place was packed--we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, so keep that in mind if you're planning to go during peak hours. Our server was absolutely lovely--so sweet and attentive, which made the wait and experience much more pleasant. The food was decent overall. I ordered the tomato basil soup with grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was the highlight--perfectly toasted and absolutely made for dipping. However, the soup itself was just average. It didn't taste like it was made with fresh tomatoes or basil, and the flavor was dominated by black pepper, which felt unnecessary and overpowered what should have been the star ingredients. The restaurant has a good selection of wine and cocktails, which is a nice touch. There was live music--two guys playing country and singing--which some people might enjoy, but it was very loud and not my cup of tea for dinner ambiance. Overall, it's a friendly, casual spot, good for a low-key night out, but don't expect authentic flavors. Good for large groups too! read more

We waited one hour and 30 min for our order...finally took it home. The table beside us was filled with dirty dishes , they were still there when we left! I got my own water, managers need to train staff and hire enough staff!! read more

The grilled chicken was just ok. If you need to go to the bathroom then you will need to bump elbows to get through. It is a horrible setup and NO ONE has the decency to move for foot traffic. The walkway is near the bar so of course everyone is standing in the way. Such an inconvenience for all. The service was good though. read more

1 star because the seating was fast. Our order consisted of 6 wings, a small pepperoni pizza, glass of wine and a coke. We got the wings and drinks in a reasonable amount of time, but after more than a hour wait for a small pizza, we were still waiting. We were told they had a large catering order to fill. Would have been nice to know the pizza would take FOREVER before we ordered. Besides that, the place was hopping with vapors (isn't that illegal?) We never saw the bartender ask for IDs even though the kids ordering drinks couldn't be over the age of 17. read more

I took my mom on February 10th to celebrate the memory of my father. I have been there numerous times and there is always something wrong. It won't happen again, I assure you. The only plus is that it is a beautiful space. The waitress didn't come to our table for at least 5 minutes and it took about 5 minutes to get drinks after that. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer. They looked burnt almost and the were lacking the actual onion. It was just fried dough. We ate a few, but they were just awful. When the waitress came back, she asked if we were done and I said "yes, because they sucked and we don't want fried dough with no onions!" Pizza was fine. Got the bill. I was very surprised that she didn't take off the onion rings (as a former waitress, I would have DEFINITELY done that) and I was shocked that my mom's fountain diet coke was $3.50! WTF? Not going back. CATCH 22 is the choice next time. read more

Not sure where to start. Food took a long time and everything g showed up at the table cold. We sent pizza, fries and other things back to try and warm them. To topthings off, an inch long roach ran up the wall next to our table after we finished eating. Needless to say..scratched this place off the list. read more

Kitchen accidentally gave me the wrong toppings for my pizza; Jenna apologized and got the correct order out quickly, and when my check was delivered; part was comped. I have NO idea how this place stays open!! Took the wife and kids here and let me tell you now that this place is a complete nightmare!!!! Our server was a dipshit and when we ask for silverware she brought a hand full of knives for my family to eat spaghetti with and said we are washing more silver ware now. Like wtf??!! Huh???!! Then 4 of our meals were not even put in the system along with waiting 2 hours and 15 min for a couple slices of pizza. I can say it Louder!!! DO NOT COME TO THIS NIGHTMARE!!!! Then to really top it off our bill was $150 for food I could have made better at home. It's all moron kids working here who could give a shit less about you or your family! This was our first and last time at this hell hole!!! read more

We came here on a Wednesday around 4 PM and were seated right away for a party of five. The place filled up pretty quickly and was very busy by 6 PM. Service was very good and friendly. I ordered a salad and the lettuce could've been a little fresher. It could've also had more of the ingredients like tomatoes and chicken in it. The dressing was very flavorful. Acoustics weren't great. Large bar area with TVs. Restaurant felt clean and was spacious. read more

So sad this place is and has become a mess. Sadly the GM is always drinking on and off the clock. It's a disgrace and the way its run is absolutely horrible! Can not believe how bad things have gotten! There are alot of things being looked into finally and hopefully by the grace of God either the owner will come to his senses and hire diligent capable workers or this place is soon to be going under fast! Would of given no stars is allowed. Just sick! read more

Dirty, subpar food, and on top of that they treat their employees so horribly. The general manager is always drunk and problems and issues do not get resolved because of her poor leadership. Cute location, but a shame it's so poorly run. read more

Chopped Antipasto Salad and Grilled Chicken Caesar are always great. Hard to find good fresh salads togo in Monroe.

The food was ok. Really nothing to write home about. The issue I had was the price. They have changed the menu to a brunch menu and jacked up the prices to the point I won't go back. We just wanted a slice and a salad. We ordered a salad and split it and got two slices and two drinks. I almost spit the Diet Coke out when I saw the $29 bill. My slice was 8.50 really! I put black olives and Italian sausage on it that added 4.50 to the price. Seems a bit steep since the slice was 4. They offered no explanation just a shoulder shrug and eye roll, like I was putting them out by asking why so much. If this is their new norm I want no part of it. The slice was good but the salad could have used a bit more greens and less beans. I won't be back. Sad cause it has been one of our favorites for few years. read more

amici had great pizza. It is our go to place when we want good pizza. We get take out fairly regularly from the Monroe location. Today was the second time is a row that our salad did not come with the bread that is listed in the menu. When I placed the order I specifically said that I wanted to make sure the bread was there this time. I was assured it would be. When I get there to pick it up, I asked- did you check my salad for the bread and was told- yes ma'am. I get home- no bread. I called them and they were like- well usually when that happens they either forgot or we ran out. Really?? Then she said- I don't really know what I can do... Ok- maybe what I'll do is go to Covington for my pizza needs. If dining in- I'd recommend Monroe because you can quality check for yourself. For carry out- maybe not. I'm hate feeling like I have to dig through and verify that my order is correct. read more

Amici, Monroe -- same stuff, different location. We had hoped that the service and overall experience of Amici would improve since they moved to a new location. In fairness, the new location is nice, more parking, and the restaurant is much cleaner. That's the good part. We joined another couple for lunch, noon on a cloudy Wednesday. I had to ask the waitress twice for a draft beer menu -- no worries. I ordered a burger with bacon, and my companion ordered a slice of Summer in Turin pizza with a side salad. Everyone's meals came out except mine. The other couple had to ask for some meatballs for their daughter because their three-year-old noticed that her "spaghetti and meatballs" had no meatballs. We inquired to the food runner and the waitress about my missing burger and waited. As everyone at the table finished their meals, the waitress quietly told me that they had just put the burger on the grill. Since I didn't want to inconvenience my guests, I told her to put it in a to-go box. Much later, as the three-year-old was ready to go, my burger arrived with our check. In all, the Summer in Turin Pizza had no fresh basil, as described in the menu, and I had to eat my eleven-dollar hamburger at home with soggy fries. As I mentioned, the spaghetti and meatballs had no meatballs, and everything seemed overpriced, based on what we got ($3 for a soft drink for example). Amici's has never been a five-star dining experience -- we never expected it to be. But when I pay $11 for a hamburger, I'd rather eat it with my guests in the restaurant than cold at home. If a menu lists ingredients, the item should come complete with those ingredients. I know that the post-COVID food service world is experiencing shortages and delivery issues, but notify guests if menu items aren't available, don't try to slip it past them. If an entire meal is forgotten, offer to comp the meal. Simple professional customer service would help Amici Monroe go a long way. I'm giving two stars because the location is nice and clean, and my companion said that the best part of her lunch was the blue-cheese dressing. My five-dollar beer that I had to ask twice about was pretty good too. We were certainly not encouraged to return though. read more

The pasta here was delish. The cheese was so thick and creamy! The calamari my date and I shared as an appetizer was pretty okay. He seemed to really like it. I thought it was okay as there wasn't as much flavor with it as I'd like. There are specials (food & events) that occurs throughout the week. When we visited Amici this past Tuesday, there was a $5 burger special. Sadly I was overcharged, but it's no deal. I just wanted to put this out there to make sure you check the prices charged to ensure its accuracy. The burger was delish as I took a mini bite. The patty was succulent and somewhat large. It comes with a side order of either fries or a pasta salad. I picked the pasta salad for the date, but it turned out to be drenched in vinaigrette so it wasn't as appetizing as we'd thought. I had the homemade Alfredo. This dish just comes with the pasta and pie bread (something like crispy pita bread), but you can had a side order of meat for $3. The portion size was huge so it was pretty filling without the side meat. Overall, a very cute and cozy place to visit. The staff was super friendly and sweet. They checked up on us multiple times and made sure we weren't lacking anything. read more

We rented the upstairs room for a private event in October 2020. The staff followed cdc guidelines. Everything was on time, our server was phenomenal and the food / beverage was great. We had buffalo chicken dip, spinach dip, salads, a variety of pizzas, and canolis, with an open bar. Roughly 40 people (which was more than expected). The only thing I can offer for improvement: It was a bit too warm inside the room, they did bring in fans, that helped, but it was still uncomfortable. All in all, I would go back. Highly recommend. read more

My husband took me here instead of abblebees which had a very long wait that night. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. It was delicious, super over priced but you get very little. They included some really hard old tasting pita chips. They were terrible. They also included some tortilla chips which we preferred. We ended up ordering the dip twice it was so good. We got the white veggie pizza. It was ok. The crust was a bit hard rubbery and chewy for me but thin like I like mine. Overall I was not impressed and probably won't be back. read more

I am lowering my 5 star review. The new location for Amici in Monroe is nothing short of amazing. The ambiance is inviting and comfortable. All the servers (almost all thin blond women in shorts) were very friendly and attentive. It is a good thing Amici's has that going for them because something has to make up for portion size. I had the tortellini. It was good but don't expect to take home leftovers. The tortellini is served with an embarrassing serving of 'bread'. A salad does not come with the meal. It is $3 extra. I will be back because the dish was good but my expectations will not be high. read more

We had the Buffalo Chicken pizza and the Works pizza. Both were delicious! However, we sat upstairs and the 2 servers assigned to that floor sat at the bar and back door scrolling their phones the whole time. A server from downstairs brought our pizzas to the table and gave us silverware, napkins, and dressing. Our waters were empty before the upstairs server noticed, even though our table was one of only 4 tables. I did let the manager [Logan] know and she apologized. read more

Nope. Still a long way from good. Though they have a FANTASTIC new location, their menu is just as unimaginative as it was at their old location. The Chicken Parm tonight was akin to one I've eaten in airport cafes and just about the same price too. Great service and atmosphere but still just very, very subpar food.
