My husband and I enjoyed dinner the other night at Amici's! It was the first time we had dined inside since the new owners had taken over; however we had tried takeout from them which was great! They have worked hard to clean up the place and it was very pleasant in the lounge area and we enjoyed the live music! Staff are all wearing masks and sanitizing and they take your temperature when you walk in. We had drinks and started with the Pancetta Candita. Seriously, what is not to like about datil rubbed candied bacon!! I chose cheese tortellini with the basil cream sauce with chicken. This was so good and I had enough for lunch the next day! Not great. First off, they didn't have any pizza the day we went. The bread given to us was a small piece of bread for 6 of us just one, that's it. Didn't taste fresh like the waitress said. Not very great. Our waitress was taking forever to get our order/drinks and it wasn't busy. They have many waiters. Our food took forever but I guess that's normal (says on menu) because its "freshly" made. When we got our food it wasn't great, not very tasty. I'm not a fan of Olive Garden like that because I know Italian food can be better but go there instead of here. Waitress didn't check on us, probably in the 2 hours we were there she checked up on us about 3x's. We understood when we got our ticket, off every ticket tip is already included 20%. When we arrived, the outside looked very dirty and run down, the vines around the terrace were overgrown, there were piles of slippery leaves at the entrance. We asked for a booth and it felt like being in a diner as it was shared. The biggest problem was that the table and the floor looked dirty. Enjoyed an evening with some close friends and a first time visit at Amicii Italian. Even though the outdoor seating looked great we chose a table indoors. The atmosphere is average and a bit dated. The staff was very friendly and took our drink order quickly. We started with nice sized house salads and a appetizer cheese pizza. The house dressing was a traditional creamy Italian and above average. The pizza crust was a bit blah. We all ordered various pastas. The portion size was generous. Everyone enjoyed their choices. I had the penne pasta with vodka tomato cream sauce. The sauce was very good and mild compared to many others. The average review rating on Yelp was 3.5 stars and I agree. First time for here Italian. Being from Chicago my wife and I know really good Italian. We were prepared for basically a pizza place that also served pasta, which seems to be what most Florida Italian restaurants are. Whoa! This IS a great Italian restaurant! I had the baked ziti and my wife had the ravioli. Both were excellent, but the 'must come back' thing was the side of meatballs. These are real Italian meatballs. March 29, 2021- Night time dining. Waiter was very attentive. Ordered Chicken Parmigiana and Veal Parmigiana with pasta. Sauce was bland. Chicken was thick and should have been pounded down. We first tried Amici's at the Taste of St. Augustine so decided to give the restaurant a try. The service and food were both good. Between the two of us we had ravioli, meatballs, and lasagna. All were delicious. Then we decided to host a family reunion dinner with about 25 people. Although we had to pay a $300 fee to use the private room, it was worth the expense. They set up the tables in a U-shape and decorated them with flowers. We had amazing service and everyone absolutely loved the food. Lesley was our lone waitress and she was incredibly efficient. She was able to get the meals right and allow separate checks. Comments from the family included very tasty meals and very generous portion sizes. Even with the number of people we had, we got our food in a reasonable period of time. We highly recommend Amici's for delicious food and good service. read more

Only one table was occupied when we came in for lunch yet we were seated at the worse table on a corner with a huge gaping tear on the seat, but we were allowed to move to another table. The long haired female apparent bartender seemed irritated when I asked a question then said rolls are not served till 4PM... it was 355PM. My apologies for being late in this review. We have been to Amici's twice now within the past year and never have we been disappointed. On The first trip we learned that on weekends get there between 5 and 6pm. Any later and the lines reach out to the car park. The meals are superbly prepared and the service is far better than any 4 star restaurant I have yet to encounter. The staff treat you with a friendly smile and as if you are family; not a credit card number. Yes, Amici's is bit on the pricier side but you truly get what you pay for. I cannot recommend Amici's strong enough for an outstanding meal especially if you are celebrating a special event. read more

I will leave an honest review. I was reading some reviews and it seems like they might be written by friends or family of someone that works there or the owner. To begin, place should be remodeled. Took a while to get attended, finally acknowledged and our drinks took a while to come out. Got the complimentary bread and that should've been my sign to get up and go elsewhere. Bread was cold and hard. We were a family of 7 and only 1 person was satisfied with their dish, which was the salmon and spaghetti. The manicotti appeared as if a can of tomato sauce was dumped on it, fettuccine with Alfredo sauce didn't have a good taste. Gratuity was already included (would've been nice to know that up front) left upset. McDonald's would've been much cheaper and you know what to expect. Terrible, terrible service. I have never waited longer to be seated, had my drink order taken, receive our (burnt) bread, or gotten our food.. at an almost empty restaurant!!! They actually asked us to wait for a table so we could have "better service" - yikes! I would have hated to have had their worse service. Our waitress might as well have told us she hated her job, also as she was not friendly or hospitable. I suspect they're severely understaffed which contributes to the slow service, but I would say that's because they're surely close to not keeping enough service to stay open. Middle of a Saturday afternoon. Got seated immediately. Sat for a long enough period of time to allow for a short staff if they were busy. They were not busy and were sufficiently staffed. Four different servers passed by our table without even acknowledging our presence, not even an offer for water. Finally approached by someone who then went to look for the server assigned to our table. By this time my patience had run its course and we left. Can't even review the food because we never got service. I get so tired of the pleas from local businesses to support them by going there, but if this is the service to expect at a non-chain restaurant, then no, thanks. I'll get my crappy food from Olive Garden, but I will at least get served and served quickly. A terrible first (and last) impression. Very disappointed. Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The service was so incredibly, unbelievably bad. Our waitress was rude, we had to flag down the owner to get refills, it took 30 minutes of sitting before she took our food order, then we waited another HOUR AND A HALF before our food came out. After all that, one order was wrong and the other cold. It was another half hour to get our check, and surprise, that was wrong too. To top it all off, since we had 7 people in our party, they automatically add a 18% gratuity. If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Insulting to my taste buds. My family and I have been eating here for nearly 20 years. We attempted to order calamari and were notified they were out. We ordered Arrancinis for appetizer and the first order was frozen in the middle. The second order was no better than the first order. Cleary days old risotto was used for this dish. For my entree I had fettuccine with Blackened shrimp. The shrimp had no sear at all and the blackened seasoning was caked on and lacked any flavor what so ever. If the food wasn't bad enough the atmosphere was completely unprofessional and underdressed. I will not be going back here again and do not recommend you spend your hard earned money here. I went here with a group of friend one night. It was about eleven of us. Four of our friends were attending a Giant Recreation World dinner being held in their banquet hall. This large group definitely had an impact on that evenings dinner service on the restaurant side. Everyone in our group had ordered a simple appetizer or a simple main dish. And the orders seem to take quite a long time to come out to the table. we noticed that the tables around this also were experiencing the same.
