Ame's Cleaning does a fantastic job, and our home always looks and smells great every time they leave. The girls that come out wear masks and do everything they can to keep us safe during this Covid time. Last week I called with a special request to hire Ame's girls to clean a house for a friend whose husband passed away over the weekend. We used Ame's cleaning for a couple years and the ladies that came to clean our house were great. The owner however is very rude and we have no idea how she owns a business and talks to clients the way she does. She called my wife to instruct her that it was taking "too long" to clean our house and "what's wrong with your house" She has raised the price twice already which we understand in a growing market but this last time it was more about how she went about it. Calling with an attitude and making the client feel like it's our fault is not the right approach. When my wife called to cancel she said "well ok" and hung up. We have referred over a dozen families to Ame's and we'll defiantly spread the word about the awful service. Don't use them, it took us an hour to find three other people that were 30% cheaper. read more

Would not recommend. I cleaned all but one of my kitchen countertops before they came, just to make their job easier. After they left, I could tell they hadn't thoroughly cleaned the one I left dirty. I paid for a special deep cleaning, too. I had to remind them to come back upstairs and vacuum the master closet, there's visible dust in the rear of my desk, and they left streaks on my mirrors. I specifically asked them to clean the top of my washer and dryer, yet I had to go over it again myself because they did such a perfunctory job. Ame's cleaning is the WORST! They did a terrible job. The owner is rude and irresponsible. We have very expensive home that is only 3 years old and they ruined all of our toilets with some cleaner that stripped the finish on them. Ame refused to replace our 4 damaged toilet seats, would not give me her insurance info and flat out "would not take any responsibility for the damage" to my property. I asked her to personally come and see the damage and she refused. I had to follow up with her again and again after she continually promised to follow up with me and did not. Instead she sent a cleaning crew who completely agreed with me that the finish was stripped due to a chemical cleaner. We have not had anyone else clean our house since Ame's. When I asked her to make good on the damage again after her "inspection crew" came out and agreed that our toilets were chemically damaged, she flat out refused and insinuated the damage was due to a "wire brush". Scratches vs. blotchy stripped finish are 2 totally different things. Again I invited her to look first hand and again she refused! She ended the conversation with "I don't care, do whatever you want" - nice attitude She makes her customers pay cash only (I'm sure the IRS will find that interesting). She makes her cleaners buy a $750.00 vacuum cleaner from her and makes them use her unmarked and unbranded cleaning solutions. When her cleaners were in my home Ame called me several times on my personal cell phone to speak with her staff because they didn't answer her calls. She was on speaker and all I heard was a rude, angry, mean woman browbeating her staff for not working fast enough. I would not recommend anyone contact Ame's unless you are an IRS agent. RE: Ame's Response: Don't believe a word Ame says. She was contacted 3 weeks later. We went out of town a couple days after they cleaned so I wasn't really looking for damage but as soon as I noticed it, I called. What Ame neglects to mention is that her cleaners did not bring cleaning supplies so not only did I offer all any and cleaning solutions we had in the house, I had to go out and buy Endust dust cleaner and vinegar. You be the judge...is it reasonable for a client to have to buy dust cleaner and vinegar for a cleaning service? Notice that she didn't defend her "wire brush" claim...we don't even own a wire brush. She made no effort whatsoever to act reasonable, timely or to resolve this matter in an objective way. Did you hear an offer for resolution in her response? Me neither. Don't let Ame's cleaning service near your home, office or apartment. Ame's Cleaning Service is TERRIBLE!!! P.S. I was charged $350 for a deep clean of a small home that is nearly empty. I made the appointment with Ame herself, the day of two women show up in a vehicle with Jennifer's cleaning logo on it. They did not wear masks, no shoe coverings, they did not know what was supposed to be cleaned. Nothing that I was told would be done was done. I was never made aware that Ame's wouldn't be showing up and it was contracted out to another cleaning service. They were here for less than 6 hours, I was charged before the cleaning ever took place. I can clean my house better than what it was, I don't have the time. Now I'm out of money and time. Also I kept having to call because no one would ever call me back although they said they would. This business has gone very much downhill. With the economy you should get exactly what you pay for and also with COVID still a real thing it's below poor service. I shouldn't have to be home for things to be done the way they were communicated to me. Don't use this place, quality is beyond gone!! Ame you really have to do much better! read more

Ame's cleaning used to be great. Ame provided excellent service. I had been a client since 1994. Recently I had requested a cleaning date change, her manager said that she did not think she could accomodate this. I never got another call...they showed up! My husband was in the middle of calls and the house was not ready/picked up for them to clean. We could not accomodate. He asked the girls to leave. The manager called, charging us for the visit, she was rude, put the blame on me(note she had not called or confirmed - infact she had told me it was unlikely). She also said that the girls that come, will not come anymore, and now she would have to schedule new girls, resulting in my cleaning fee going up! How does this make any sense? This is after being with Ame's cleaning since 1994! read more

They did such an amazing job yesterday. First of all, they came last minute same day and cleaned my house. I have no complaints everything was superclean. But most importantly they found a diamond earring that has been missing for about a week or so and just set it on my bathroom counter. I've been using Ame's for a number of years, and they always do excellent work. But today was above and beyond. They called to tell me the ladies found a leak under our kitchen sink. Sure enough, it was pouring from the bottom of the garbage disposal when the faucet was turned on. I could tell it hadn't been leaking for very long, so I was able to clean it up and get a plumber out ASAP. I never, ever would have noticed that leak, or at least until considerable damage had occurred. My neighbor had a similar leak and ended up having to have all the cabinets on that wall torn out and replaced, which took months. I am so thankful not to have escalated to that situation, especially with Thanksgiving about a week away and company coming. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. We hired them to clean our house so we could sell it. Our realtor listed them as one of their preferred vendors, which I am sure will no longer be the case since they saw the job they did at our house. A lot of the major things were taken care of -- wiping down baseboards & cabinets -- because we'd just had them painted. I was not there when Ame's came to do the work. If I had to do this again, I would try to be there at least part of the time. I was just thinking it was best to stay out of their way, since I have three little kids who are always with me. When I went by to check it out, I expected to find the place spotless. However, there was stuff on the floors (carpet and Pergo), the windows were very streaky, the lightswitch plates hadn't been wiped down and there were still cobwebs over the stairs and bathroom light. Honestly, I kind of wondered what they did while they were there. I was still calm at this point, figuring they'd probably want to make it right. Ame said she would send them back out. In between that phone call and the day they came back (I asked that they come back a few days later because I had another contractor who still had some last minute things to do), Ame called me back and said my handyman was there and wouldn't let them do some of the things they were going to do. That explained some of it. The floor, mainly. But it didn't explain the windows, cobwebs, switchplates, etc. The day the cleaning people came back, I stopped by while they were there. Other than one area, the floor didn't look like they did anything to it downstairs. They did sweep the carpet upstairs, which now looked fine, and the cobwebs were gone. They swept out the garage but still left some leaves, a penny, and other small trash behind. The worst thing though is they didn't seem to touch the switchplates and while I saw one of the people cleaning a window, they are all still very streaky. I even asked her to fix it before I left and showed her what I was talking about. I have photos of all this if anyone wants to see them. So now I have to haul my vacuum, mop, simple green, rags and window cleaner back over there. I have three young children. If it was easy for me to haul them over there along with my cleaning supplies and get them to leave the realtors' staging stuff alone while I clean, I would not have paid Ame's to clean the house in the first place. Speaking of paying to have this done, after they were there the first time and before I called to have them come back, Ame told me this would cost $235. After they came back, she bumped it up to $270 and told me to tip them. I have no idea why I listened to her, except that I wanted to be done with them. So total, this annoyance cost me $310 and a lot of sanity. In order to do this, I will probably end up hiring a babysitter so I can go over there and do this, which will increase what I've paid to have the house cleaned even more. Plus, I will be cleaning a house I've already paid to be cleaned when I could be having fun with my kids. Grrrr. Ridiculous. Next time, I won't hire anyone unless they have tons of great reviews on Yelp, even if my realtor says they are good. Also, I'd look for a company that guarantees their work, if it's available in this industry. read more

I agree with Hit or Miss. Mostly a Hit. Hard working cleaners who strive to do a good job. They cleaned the house nicely for the most part. Especially, creating a nice pattern in the carpet. Good attitudes. The key was to tell them specifics. So, they didn't wash windows, that had just been professionally washed, clean oven that is self-cleaning, etc. Slight Misses: Dealing/communicating with the scheduler: defensive and argumentative. Language barrier. Cleaners arrived at wrong time, 2+ hours early. They left. That crew got tied up on another job, so didn't show up or call. A smaller crew of two, over 2+ hours late, without the 30-minute promised notice/call. So, were parked in front of house when I returned, and seemed to want to bill me for their wait time. We aren't sure if we were still being billed at same rate for just two cleaners versus the original crew that we were supposed to have. But, final bill was as originally estimated/quoted. About $100.00 per hour. One cleaner sounded a bit rough with vacuum, sweeper, and ladder. From downstairs, I heard a lot of banging and newly painted wall got a long black mark from their ladder. My spot painting covered it. Spent a bunch of time sweeping outside, which we didn't need/ask for, versus doing more cleaning inside. *Overall, they did a great job. One thing is certain whenever you're dealing with other human beings: mistakes will be made. What's not always guaranteed is that they will be reconciled. Here's our story on the amazing service (and humility) we received from Ame's Cleaning when they made a simple mistake with real consequences. The cleaning ladies came on a Friday when we were flying out of town for the weekend. Despite the standard rule that doors in the home not be closed before leaving, they closed the doors to the room which houses our cat's litter box. As a result, when we returned home on Sunday, the cat had used our 13x9 foot shag rug as a litter box all weekend. And we had folks arriving in town later that same week for a special occasion. Needless to say - we were both displeased and frustrated. I called Ame's on Monday to let them know what happened and received a call back from Ame within minutes. She asked how she could make it right and I said "for starters I think you should refund the cleaning fee - not sure what else you can do at this point." She then asked if she could call me back in a few minutes, and about 5 minutes later called back asking if Austin Specialty Cleaners could pick the rug up to be cleaned at Ame's expense (roughly $500) and returned before our guests would arrive later that week. We agreed, and the cleaners picked up the rug 30 minutes later and returned it 2 days earlier than needed on Thursday in wonderful condition. I was totally blown away by the accountability and service demonstrated by Ame and staff, and in fact called back and told them to go ahead and bill me for the original cleaning as I thought taking care of the rug cleaning expense was more than fair. I've dealt with other cleaning services (and other pro serv groups) in Austin and have never seen this level of professional decorum and service. Kudos Ame - and thank you! read more

i would have written a glowing review if it weren't for my mom and i having to re-mop our floors two days after ame's came over to clean. the floors were as dirty (if not dirtier) than when i clean every other week. ame's told my mom that they only accept cash and credit card, and that they had told her this prior to coming. when i made the appointment for my mom, they did not say anything about that. they mentioned that the policy is on their website. not everybody has the time to peruse a company's website. this should have been expressed when the appointment was made. read more

Horrible customer service. Took two weeks to nail down a time for them to come out to my house, then they cancelled the day before telling me they needed to reschedule for the next day. Once the crew was at my house, Ame called and told me she was going to charge extra than what we originally agreed on. I tried to give this cleaning service a chance for six months but they failed to deliver. I had to clean for at least an hour after they left nearly every time. Toilets weren't cleaned properly, counter tops were left with dirt and dust. My bathroom floor wasn't swept or mopped properly because there was hair left in areas on the floor. The most frustrating thing was that they put my thermostat on 73 and tried to say that was because they dusted it. True rip off. Save yourself the frustration and use another service. read more

If I could rate them lower I would. I had my first service and they asked we give the crew a tip. When I got home, I noticed that the shower wasn't clean and still had grime on it. The baseboards in the kitchen were still dirty and the lights over our island wasn't touched. We called them to come back which they did to clean those items. We then received a call a few days later from Ame herself letting us know that they lost 2 workers and since we wouldn't need there service during the summer time that they wouldn't be able to service us going forward.. So they took our money, provided poor service and being that we asked them to come back after our first cleaning they make up an excuse not to continue. Because of that and not being honest, I wouldn't recommend them. I guarantee that if my neighbor calls them for a cleaning they would have someone available to do it. read more

I paid $400 for a DEEP CLEAN on my house. ( I have a very organized and picked up house.) The two ladies who came over were very sweet and friendly, but they did not do a deep clean. When I pointed out items that they missed, they gladly cleaned them, but only in that one area. For example, I showed them that the doors and cabinets had not been wiped down. They said, "oh, right, the forms says to do that," but then only did it for the one room I pointed out. I had to clean soaps dishes in the showers, the tile behind the stove and the sink, the top of the stairs, etc. Basically, if it required any elbow grease or for items to be moved, they just skipped it. I had to re-dust every room because they dusted around items instead of picking them up. I wasted my money. read more

Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful! Their team is great, the best cleaning crew I've had ever.... Ame is very nice to work with and is personal with your needs. The scheduling is simple and they are extremely professional. I just love Ame's cleaning... they are so worth every cent, which is btw not much! They are affordable and clean my 6 bedroom 4 bathroom house with two offices without a speck left. They also fold laundry which is a life saver for me bc I work over 20 hours a day and run my own business and literally have no time to grocery shop let alone fold clothes. Rose was very nice on the phone- but the actual service was poor. The cleaning time was between 12-3. I feel like this time window is pretty big anyway- but okay. But then they didn't even come between 12 and 3. I called at 3 and found out they could not arrive until 3:30. Once they arrived they immediately asked me if it was my first clean or a weekly clean. I said it was my first clean and they asked whether they could clean tomorrow, because it would take too long. I wanted them to clean that day because I had stayed at home for 3 hours, waiting for them. Then, I had to leave to pick up my son from school, and the company called me to say that the cleaners said it was too big of a job and that they wouldn't be able to do everything and tried again to do it another day. In the end, they didn't even mop the tile downstairs. That is insane. Mopping is one of the main reasons I called. I was very unhappy with the service from this company. read more

I used Amee's for the first time recently and paid $175. I was not impressed at all. They forgot to clean a few areas. I called them to discuss this and was told the place was a disaster and that the two maids probably ran out of time. That's a bunch of bologna. The customer service there was poor. My review has nothing to do with the actual maid service, but everything to do with the organization, or lack thereof, of Ame. Here's my experience this week: Monday-Called to inquire about service for Friday. The girl that answered said Ame wasn't available, but she would call me back to schedule. Tuesday-Still no call back, but I wait patiently because nobody told me Friday wasn't available. I've used their service once before, working with someone named Rose, so I trusted I would receive my call back. Wednesday-Ame calls me and says they've had a cancellation and they can fit me in Friday afterall. My initial thought was that nobody ever told me they couldn't fit me in. Were they just not going to call me back if this cancellation hadn't happened? Anyway, Ame suggested 8am on Friday and I agree. She confirms how her employees will access my property and says she ll call me back Thursday to touch base. Thursday-No call from Ame, but I assume since we have a time scheduled and I've agreed to be home to let the cleaners in that we're good to go. Friday-Nobody shows up. I waited at home until 8:30am and finally decide I should just head to work. I can't call their office til they open at 9:00am. Ame returns my call an hour later and claims we never had a set appointment and that since Fridays are very busy they were just going to work us in. She said she never confirmed our appointment time, but as far as I knew we were set. She never mentioned being busy or working me in, all I was told was, "How about 8 o clock?" When I told her this experience was consistent with some of the reviews I read online she said, "I'm sorry, nobody's perfect, but we're doing the best we can." It just didn t seem like Ame knew or cared what was going on, which is sad since it's her business. read more

When we first started working with Ame's Cleaning they were great. They did a great job with my move out/in cleanings and the bi-weekly cleanings we had. However, the one thing that has not changed regardless of how well they clean or do not clean the house is they have terrible customer service skills all the way from the top with Ame to the workers below her. After 8 months of service with them, it just went downhill. From constantly charging my credit card even after I said I will and did pay cash every visit and the company stating my card number was "permanently" removed from their system so it wouldn't happen again but yet every month the card was charged and the charge was reversed, to late night scheduling phone calls (10:00pm), to a phone call telling us that when the cleaners show up we "need" to pay them a tip. This is the straw that broke the camel's back. We paid them a significant amount of money every month to have our house cleaned and for the most part the cleaning was not the issue; it's the terrible customer service that we had to deal with from the team that administers the office and the business. To call a customer and put their foot down stating that a tip needs to be paid is not what I would call good customer service. We will give our money AND TIPS to another cleaning service company that knows how to provide good customer service. read more

Did an awesome job. I will definitely use them again. They did a move in clean for a house I recently purchased. The previous owners had left some old broken aluminum blinds that were really dirty and that we had intended on replacing. They called me from my house to ask if I wanted them to hand wash the blinds because they were dirty and would take them longer and cost me more money or if I was planning replace the blinds. I said I was replacing all the blinds so not to worry about cleaning them and she said "I thought you might be and we didn't want to cost you unnecessary money". Never again! I normally clean my own home, but I found myself unable to do so after my family and I being extremely sick for several weeks and just when I thought I was getting better, I had to have an emergency surgery and would be laid up for an additional 12-16 weeks. I called and, I guess, made the mistake of telling them my situation and that this wouldn't be a routine thing. They were able to make it out rather quickly.(now I know why) I have a townhome, not that big. They sent three women, who barely spoke English, which tended to be a problem a few times. They were there for three hours. When they left, I was appalled. The floors were still dirty, the microwave still had food in it, the toilets were obviously dirty, my glass shower doors looked like they didn't even get touched, because they still had body wash and shampoo on them, the faucets didn't even get wiped down, the rug didn't get properly vacuumed, because there was stuff left on it and they didn't vacuum the furniture and the dishes the girl took fifteen minutes to wash, weren't even clean. When I called to let them know I wasn't pleased with the service, she told me that my home was "so soiled" and they didn't have enough time to clean it and if I were to sign up for their regular routine service, they'd be able to do a better job. I told her that when I'm able to clean my own home, it take me, one person, five hours to clean the whole home and do the laundry. And when I'm done, it's spotless. I proceeded to ask her how three hours with three women wasn't enough and they didn't even do my laundry. She completely avoided the question. And she also informed me that they don't do dishes, so I must be mistaken. I told her they obviously don't normally do dishes, because they're all still dirty after being washed and she might want to inform her young worker, who basically wasted fifteen minutes "washing" dishes, that they're not supposed to do that and she should have been doing something else. She then asked me how we could make this right. I told her I definitely didn't want them back out, because they obviously do not know what they're doing. After several minutes of basically arguing with me, it ended with her telling me she'd give me a twenty dollar discount and I told her that I'd let Yelp know how my service with them went. I did take pictures. Luckily for Ame's "cleaning service", I can't post them here. Someone needs to clue them in on how to properly execute the professional business model. Your suppose to wow the customer with your service and make them want you back. read more

I have used Ames cleaning for over 10 years and in 3 different houses. I also use them to clean my disabled brother's home. I am very picky and a clean freak, and they do a wonderful job of keeping my crazy house clean. It is so nice to walk into a beautifully clean home after begin gone for only 2 hours.
