The team from Xtra Maid came to clean my home this morning and exceeded my expectations. To be fair, this isn't a small thing as my expectations are quite high and my husband and I were both recovering from surgeries so it was worse than usual (uncluttered but dusty)! When I came home afterward, I saw that my house is turnkey if I was selling it - it is THAT clean. They even cleaned the back storm door and inside of the fridge and my toaster looks brand new. I am planning to move in a few months and when I do, I will be calling them again. It took a little longer than I thought for them to finish, but their thoroughness made it all worth the wait. We've been using Xtra Maid for a while now. We've always been impressed with the work. Lately, it's fallen off a little, but I suspect it's for the same reason service everywhere is suffering: staff shortages. We tried another well-reviewed company, just to see, and the detail was much worse and the cost was much, much higher. Sticking with Xtra Maid. Note that we work from home, so punctuality, etc. are less critical to us. Not sure how others might feel. And for the price, there are a few things we don't mind touching up after they leave. (I've never found a cleaning service that rinses the floors well enough. Maybe we're all too sensitive.) read more

I have been using Xtra Maid for our cleaning service for at least 8 years and I have been overall satisfied with the service provided. As with any business, the service can vary from one team to another. That said, I have to compliment the team that has been sent for the last couple of cleanings. Rarely has a cleaning team had me walking around saying "Wow!" to the job they did, but Brigitte and Maria have given us that "wow" service for the last few cleaning visits. Do not use their services. Complete shady business! I was at home during their "cleaning" services. I have a 4 bedroom 3 bath home. They cleaned the entire 1st floor. My 2nd floor has the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a game room. They ONLY cleaned the master bed and bath room upstairs. They didn't even touch the rest of the 2nd floor (game room, 2 other bed rooms, 1 bathroom). And I don't mean they didn't clean and I wasn't satisfied-they seriously didn't touch the remainder of the 2nd floor. I'm confused bc I thought I paid for an entire house clean?! Dog hair/dust all throughout the 2nd story floors, bath rooms untouched, not even the trash was taken out. Didn't even go into the 2 bedrooms to dust or sweep--NOTHING. The girls told me they were "done" and were about to leave. Finding this odd bc every cleaning service I've had experience with usually let you inspect the house first before they leave to make sure you're satisfied. Nope not this company! I told them to wait and I pointed out the untouched 2nd floor and they told me in their broken English "we're done, everything is clean". So I emailed and called Gabriel the owner and sent pictures of what wasn't done. I gave him a week to respond but nothing. This company asks for payment BEFORE they start cleaning and now I know why. They get your money and don't even clean the entire house. The fact that the owner is okay with his maids not cleaning the entire house show what a shady business this is. I have never had a cleaning service NOT go into rooms to clean! I have attached pictures of all the rooms the maids didn't go into. Sometimes you have a situation where you may not get a room cleaned the way you like-but to have the maids not even clean an inch of a few rooms (basically half of your house) should be illegal and this company shouldn't be allowed to even be in business. See the pictures and you'll see how they didn't even bother after they got their money. We have been trying to reach the office, but of course nobody works on Sundays. They even sent us a confirmation email. We need to move in tonight and now we have to spend the night in a dirty house. Amazing service. Showed up on time and worked nonstop for at least 6 hours on my house. If you find them through Angies List you get 10% off the first cleaning. They even take out each bulb and clean those. It has taken weeks to find a service that I could count on AND worked with my schedule. I look forward to our next scheduled cleaning already. When they show up, they generally do a great job for us. BUT, all too often, they do not show up when they're supposed to come -- today is one of those times --, and the phone number goes directly to voicemail, even during business/non-lunch hours. So there is no way to find out what's going on. They sometimes rush through and don't work the full amount of time that was booked. My neighbors (who keep an immaculate house) recommended Xtra Maid when I was looking for a cleaning service. I emailed Gabriel on a Saturday and he was able to give me a quote the same day and explain the services they provide. The cleaning itself was fabulous. The ladies did everything from the baseboards to the inside of the refrigerator! It was an extremely thorough cleaning and our house has never looked better. This was a very disappointing experience. I dont really have any complaint about the cleaning itself. However, the business practices and tact of the company are very poor. I received a quote in March from Xtra Maid. I received quotes from other services as well. I gave the business to Xtra Maid. However, last week I received an email ahead of my next visit advising me that my price had gone up $50 (26.3% increase). Price increases happen, but this was less than 3 months after my first visit. I asked for an explanation​ and if this was a firm decision. I was told that my prices were from 5 years ago and the decision was firm. I inquired as to why Gabriel quoted me with pricing he clearly planned to increase and didn't​ win my business in a clean way. I can't​ even say that the new rate is absolutely terrible vs other​ competitors. I will have to check into that as I look into a new service, but decided I will absolitely not do business or accept the price increase from this service as the business practices and tact are highly unprofessional. read more

I have used Xtra Maid for a couple of years. I have seen some really excellent maids come and go. Apparently, they have one team now. Wednesday before Thanksgiving they were scheduled for between 11-12, my usual time. My daughter waited from 9:30 until 4pm, when they showed up. They went through my home fast, in 1 hour and did not clean the kitchen or take the check. My daughter spoke to them harshly so I was dropped from their service. I am disabled and counted on them to do their job. Gabriel has been uncooperative in resolving this matter. It pains me to leave a poor review because they have been really good until now. read more

Scheduled for make ready. Drove from Leander to property in Austin early in the morning to meet the maid as scheduled. NO SHOW...NO responses to phone calls and voicemail messages left. FB link on the website sure doesn't look like a legitimate business. Stay away from this one. 3:16 update: they finally showed up after multiple phone calls and an angry email. Gabriel sent 3 maids out. They arrived while we were out for lunch. Maids claimed they were there from 11-3 and in that time they couldn't manage to completely clean an empty house. Scheduled with Gabriel to perform maid services at 8:30 a.m., 1/26/15. Didn't show up, didn't call and didn't answer emails asking what happened. Don't waste your time dealing with these people, especially if you have to rearrange your schedule like I did. Too many other reputable maid service companies available that do show up and act in a professional manner. Update: He eventually emailed and said he had to go out of town for a family emergency(?) We have been using Xtramaid a few times a year for close to three years now. This is the second time that they have been extremely tardy. Last cleaning they showed up an hour and a half late, and it appears that this time they will not be showing up at all. They do an excellent job of cleaning when they do arrive, but I cannot stand this kind of tardiness when I am paying for a service. Not only is their lack of professionalism rude, it is also an inconvenience. I could have worked an additional shift at work today, but did not in order to be here when they arrived. The way I see it, attempting to use this poor service has actually COST me additional money. I am currently accepting recommendations for a new cleaning service in Round Rock. read more

So i used these guys while in South Austin under a different name. I searched for them when I bought a house a month ago in Leander, but they did not come up. I figured they did not go up that far north and it had been a couple of years so I did not have their contact details anymore. Then I have a major issue with paint spray being sucked up through the intake and dispersed through my whole house via the ventilation system. (That would be another review). I called several places who would not help me because of the risk of making things worse. ServePro said to just replace everything. That would be not just all of the furniture in my house, but the hardwood floors, carpet, rugs. In my brand new has not even been completed for a month house. I noticed I recognize the name of the main contact for Xtra Maid and give them a call. Sure enough it is the same service I had before. Gabriel came out on a Saturday to look things over and give an estimate. We agreed upon limitations to make sure they did not make anything worse and a price, the ladies were out on Sunday with Gabriel explaining to them everything that we had discussed the day before. 4 women, and 8 hours later my house is immaculate. Such a great job I even set them back up for weekly service. Thank goodness they go out to Leander. I was thinking about getting a maid from care.com who could charge hourly but also do laundry, dishes, maybe cook, but all I found there were people who lied about being smokers and people who left me waiting and had their phone disconnected. I am very happy to have a clean house again and going forward. read more

The Angie's deals are a SCAM with these folks -- they come in, clean as slowly as possible for the hours, don't seem to understand when you ask them to hurry and finish certain tasks. They failed to complete cleaning of a tidy 2700 sq ft home in 4 hours with 2 workers. In 6 hours I finally got them to leave, after paying an extra 130 dollars for them to clean 2 bathrooms on the second floor. Nothing else upstairs was touched. The owner, when I explained, apologized for them being slow, but insisted that the total would stand and will not make it right. The original 'deal' was 8 hours of cleaning for 160 dollars, putting my total out of pocket for approx 1400 sq ft cleaned at 290 dollars. RUN AWAY!!! read more

Xtra Maid sent two friendly, hard working women to clean our home. They arrived 15 minutes early with everything necessary to clean. They needed very little instruction since I had texted my expectations to the company prior to their arrival. Their quiet, efficient work left us with a clean smelling, dirt free, dust free, leather couch conditioned, fresh scrubbed kitchen as well as clean sheets on the bed and fancy folds to the bathroom towels......we are very satisfied and looking forward to having them in our home next month. read more

I had a kitchen remodel done and my house was covered in dust, so I hired Capital Cleaning Service to clean the house after the remodel. Gabriel came out to do an estimate and was professional and on time. They were very understanding in that I had to change the date multiple times because the remodel was running behind. Once the cleaning day arrived, Karen came early and did a fabulous job! There was some confusion where Karen did the amount of work expected on her next house, but she quickly recognized her error and returned to complete the work. I've been using Capital Cleaning for almost a year now, and they do a great job. Anna cleans my house in North Austin and she does wonderful work. I have two cats and lots of cat hair all over my furniture and beds, and she vacuums it all up. I've had a hard time finding someone to clean that will vacuum the furniture, and it does little good to clean every other surface but leave pet hair on the upholstery. I've been very pleased with Gabrielle too, who schedules my cleaning, and is good about sending me reminders before they come. I've used several cleaning services over the past several years, and this company is by far the best I've used. The cleaning team does a thorough job and is very pleasant. The owner, Gabriel, is extremely accommodating. I've had to change dates at the last minute and on a couple of occassions have forgotten to leave the door unlocked for the ladies and they are always very understanding. Also, Gabriel agreed on a lower price for me because there are 2 out of 3 bedrooms in my house that I don't ask the girls to clean. I was very impressed with his accommodating my request. I've rated them a four because the girls aren't always on time-- they are sometimes a bit early or a bit late (but never more than an hour). Also, you are not guaranteed the same cleaning team each time. Some girls clean better than others, so it would be nice if you could request a specific girl and have her be responsible for the cleanings each time. There was one occassion when the house was not cleaned very well at all. In fact, when I walked into the house, my first thought was, "They forgot to come today!" However, the check was gone, so I knew that they had been there. I sent an email to Gabriel with photos showing the poor cleaning job that was done. He was very apologetic and sent a team out the next day to completely reclean the house. Also, it is difficult to get in touch with Gabriel by phone. Your call almost always goes to voicemail. But, emails are returned promptly so I haven't had an issue. So, all in all, this is a good company. The owner is very pleasant and accommodating. The girls do a thorough job. And, when last minutes changes are needed, they are eager to help. And, the price is right! read more

The good thing, they showed up on time. Downhill from there. After checking my upstairs after they left, you can see vacuum marks, but apparently their vacuum doesn't pick up stuff, and apparently they don't look where they are vacuuming. I am now having to redo 3 rooms. Bought an Angie's deal, and 5 minutes before their 3 hours (2 girls-so 6 hours of cleaning) they started packing up and walking out. I asked them to stay and finish and I would pay the $30 per hour that the deal stated. They didn't want to stay. I then called the number of the office they gave me, and no answer, but then asked them to call, and of course he answered right away. He said they could stay another hour, but then said it was $60 per hour. So, now I'm cleaning my downstairs that they didn't finish. Not impressed. read more

We hired this company to clean our apartment before a new set of tenants moved in. We did a walk through of the entire apartment with Gabriel and pointed out a few items that would be staying in the unit during and after the cleaning including an antique desk and a BRAND NEW set of golf clubs. When we returned after the cleaning, the items were gone and Gabriel now claims that we are lying and the items were never there even though we EXPLICITLY showed them to him during the walk through. The woman who came to clean appeared allergic to my cats (and was dealing with cleaning dust/fur), but continued without a word. Didn't show up for 3 hours and when they did, they weren't able to complete the job in an empty house that was to be made ready for real estate listing. When they didn't show up there was no response to phone calls. When Gabriel finally answered a voicemail message, the maids were already en route and his only excuse was that he was in a meeting. The company would send two ladies to clean our house every 2 weeks. They did a great job getting our pet hair up and were fastidious about every detail. They worked for us for 5 years, and never failed to show up on the schedule day. Best of all--a dispatcher/manager was always available for us to contact online for schedule changes, special requests, and cancellations. read more
