We had a fantastic lunch here while In Burlington. Our server, Shavonne went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She was kind and helpful. We ordered the lunch specials and we were not disappointed. The salads were crisp and refreshing. Our pizzas were flavorful and creative especially the carrot pizza! Very happy we checked out American Flatbread and would return in the future.

Everything about this place works. The friendly service, the beer selection, the cheddar potato ale soup, the medicine wheel flatbread pizza, even the Rootin' For Spring, which despite the presence of parsnips was met with resounding cheers from my dining companions. My porter was coffee-inflected but clean. A chainlet for the ages.

This spot felt so cozy yet it was spacious. We stopped in before heading to the airport and took advantage of their lunch special. I had a personal pizza (with Vermont maple sausage, caramelized onions, and some other yummy ingredients) with a seafood chowder, both of which were delicious. I also got a side of their homemade hot sauce which was also really good. Our server was friendly and attentive, checking in regularly and making sure our water glasses stayed full. It was also a great location to walk around a little bit before heading out. Will keep this on my list for next time we visit.

We were in Burlington on a very snowy night. Found this place on yelp and the reviews didn't steer me wrong. It had a very cozy feel with creative choices for flatbreads We ordered the New Vermont sausage. Such a tasty combination of House maple sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, cheese and mushrooms. Noel or server was quick and helpful, with local beers on tap it was the perfect stop.

The New Vermont Sausage flatbread was absolutely incredible. The flavors from the sausage, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and herbs all shone through and melded so well together. I would come here again just for that pizza. The Evolution Salad was fresh and crisp. I got the lunch combo and honestly the flatbread was more than enough. The service was also fast and super friendly! And the interior was beautiful. Brick-oven and brick aesthetics everywhere.

The pizza was so yummy! We had three different kinds, pepperoni and peppers, new Vermont sausage and my son made up his own with jalepeno peppers. The service was great, attentive and friendly. The open fire pizza oven was impressive just to see how the pizza was cooked. It gives a great atmosphere to the place. We really enjoyed our food.

Decent pizza - hot, fresh, thin crust. I didn't wait long like others did. Local rootbeer was very strange - tasted like licorice - but that's just a preference thing.

Really creative pizzas with quality ingredients. I also loved the Evolution salad which reminded me of German salads. Service was attentive and it was very cool to watch the pizzas being made in the wood fire brick oven.

I've eating plenty of their frozen pizza but never fresh and yummmmmm. Awesome bread, large choice of toppings. Half and half option is great! Our server was very nice and efficient. Def a go for wood fired, my favorite. We chose the Dancing Heart plus jalapeno and the Revolution.

Great flatbread! We were quite happy with the food we ordered. Inside has a nice warm ambiance to it and the staff was friendly! What we ordered (as of 6/2024): - 1/2 PEPPERONI & PEPPERS and 1/2 NEW VERMONT SAUSAGE - $27 - While the pepperoni and peppers was good, the star was definitely the Vermont sausage which had a nice sweet and spicy kick to it. Can't go wrong with either! - Evolution salad - $9 - Simple and refreshing. Good balance with the flatbread! - Garlic oil - $2 - I really enjoyed this. Perfect for drizzling on your flatbread. The punchy garlic really makes this worthwhile as an add-on. - Organic tomato sauce - $3 - Also a nice addition if you're missing the "pizza" aspect to your flatbread! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and would 100% recommend this place!

I came during UVM's graduation week so it was filled with reservations already, but I would definitely love to eat here again one day. The restaurant was spacious and cozy with a bar and fireplace on one side, and a wood-fired pizza oven on the other side. Although the pizza was cold by the time I got to it, it was still good. I ordered the large half and half with the New Vermont Sausage and the Revolution. Whether it was the flavors, how it was cut, the thickness of the flatbread or the sweetness from the caramelized onion, it was super delcious. The brownie from my brownie sundae was soft and rich. The meatball appetizer was a little hard so I would just stick with the flatbread and desserts next time. The food was good togo so I could only imagine having the best time with some freshly baked flatbread while enjoying a nice cold beer at the bar. One day .... I will be back American Flatbread.

    Excellent NA beer.

Their vegan pizzas are amazing! The vegan cheese source is top notch. I always order a Margherita pizza and 9/10 times they have fresh basil, too. I also love that they have Rescue Club Pilsner, a non-alcoholic beer that knocks all others out of the water. The atmosphere out on the patio is so lovely as well. Perfect space for any occasion. The wait staff is also very kind.

    Deena J.

I loved the variety of toppings and pairings of the flatbreads. We got a large Punctuated Equilibrium pizza [added red sauce] & it was superb. Neither of us particularly enjoy Italian sausage on pizza, but this fennel pork sausage was prepared in a way that it gives a pleasant taste while not being chunky or over doing it. Although this restaurant was bustling on a Sunday evening, our server got to us in a reasonable amount of time. Great cozy ambiance.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.

Vermont, as best I can tell, excels at three things. Producing elite-level cheese, perfecting brick oven pizza, and fully committing to a very particular political personality. Two of those things directly benefit me, so I leaned in. One immediate observation. If you are looking for anything other than wood-fired, artisanal pizza, you may want to adjust expectations. That appears to be the law of the land. Naturally, I adapted by eating pizza two nights in a row. Night 2: Folino's Pizza The next night I pivoted and ended up at Folino's, which turned out to be the value correction I needed. I ordered the MK pizza, which comes topped with caramelized onions and impressively large pepperoni slices that do not believe in subtlety. The difference was immediate. I paid less than the night before and received a pizza that was easily twice the size. This one actually acknowledged that I had not eaten since breakfast. The caramelized onions added a great balance of sweetness, the pepperoni brought both flavor and coverage, and the overall product hit that ideal intersection of quality and quantity. This pizza was not just good, it was filling. I left satisfied and with leftovers, which later doubled as an elite cold hotel breakfast. That alone puts it in a different category. The atmosphere at Folino's was laid-back, clean, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I showed up earlier than I had said I would, fully expecting to be told to wait, but they immediately jumped into making my order without hesitation. The location has a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel, but that seems consistent with parts of Burlington. It adds a little unpredictability to the experience, which at this point felt on brand.

I told my husband that there was a review saying there was some rude people that work here and we absolutely disagree with that reviewer. We walked in and were immediately asked if we were picking up an order or staying to eat. The young lady told us to choose a table because they weren't very busy at the time and only 2 other couples were there. There were a few young men behind the counter making orders up for people ordering take out and they seemed like they really enjoyed working there. They were laughing and smiling the entire time we were there. It made the place feel very homey. My husband ordered a 12 inch cheese pizza in hopes that it would live up to his love of a good New York City pizza. He grew up there. Papa Frank knows how to make a pizza!! My husband found his new pizza place and we will be always ordering pizza from here. He absolutely loved it and even said it's the best pizza in Vermont. We've had pizza from absolutely everywhere. As for myself I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It was fantastic and came with just the right amount of pasta and sauce on the side. The eggplant was very good and my only complaint, which isn't really a complaint because, it's just the way I prefer my eggplant, sliced a little bit thicker. Regardless it tasted so delicious and I didn't leave any on the plate. I even ordered a keylime pie to take home and boy do I want more of that! Key lime is my absolute favorite but I am soooo picky with it. No need to worry here because it's some of the best I've ever had! Next time Im definitely ordering some cannoli's.
