They were quick, figured out how to make the tight spaces work, and were super patient the whole time. Nothing got messed up or damaged, not one thing. On top of that, they just had great energy and great personalities. Made the whole move feel easy instead of stressful, and I felt like my stuff was in good hands the entire time. 10 out of 10. I've used Atlanta Home Movers a bunch of times now, and this team is hands down my favorite. I'll definitely be booking with them again.

David in the office told me what to expect when I booked and answered all my questions: it all went exactly as he said it would. I paid a simple hourly fee for the labor, and a flat fee for the junk removal of the old units. No hidden costs. Richard was the team lead, and his experience was clear; they arrived on time and they handled the job with speed and assuredness. They quickly took out the old units with a lot of care to my property, then they fully installed the new ones for me. They made all the connections and tested it, so I didn't have to worry. I can't say enough about how well they treated me - they were all true pros every step of the way. AHM handled each detail, and I ALWAYS knew what to expect and what it would cost in time and money. They were transparent with everything and took great care of me. I will happily hire them again whenever I need labor, junk removal, or moving services.

I reported it to the lead mover the same evening I realized it was missing. He apologized and told me they must have forgotten it somewhere at my apartment complex. When I later obtained the building's surveillance footage, it showed one of the movers carrying my chair after it came off the elevator. The lead mover confirmed the person in the video was one of his employees. Despite this, the chair has never been recovered. I declined the additional valuation coverage because the lead mover assured me I didn't need it and told me they wouldn't damage my furniture during the move. I never imagined I needed coverage for a chair disappearing entirely while it was in the movers' possession. After reviewing the situation, the Operations Manager called me, apologized, and told me he agreed with me that the company was completely in the wrong for what happened. However, Vladimir, who is both the owner and the manager handling claims, has refused to take responsibility for losing my chair and has refused to compensate me for its value beyond offering $36. There were other issues during the move as well. The truck they sent wasn't large enough to complete our move, forcing us to leave boxes, plants, and other belongings behind to move ourselves. In addition, the movers smelled strongly of marijuana after arriving at our new home, which was very concerning. This entire experience has been stressful and incredibly disappointing. Losing an expensive piece of furniture is one thing, but the lack of accountability afterward has been even worse. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to think twice and carefully review the paperwork before trusting them with their belongings.

AVOID USING THIS COMPANY…read more I have moved several times over the years. This was my first time using College Hunks. It will also be my last time. Everything was smooth for setting up the move. The person (Scott) who came and gave the quote was professional and it was a positive experience. The day of the move, we had 3 movers show up (we were quoted for 2). There was a strong weed smell around them upon arrival. One of the movers was in socks and slide sandals, which isn't proper mover attire. We had everything boxed up and furniture ready to move (beds broken down, things staged for easy moving). They said in multiple occasions this would go quicker than what we were quoted. However, the time dragged on as one person was left to handle things in the apartment. Not sure if the others were loading the truck or what exactly they were doing during this time. When the items were moved out - we were told they would take their 30min break and meet us at the new building (0.5 miles away). They would let us know when everything was loaded and the 30mins started. This never occurred. After getting to the new building and waiting over 30mins, I called the number I had and was informed of the time they left the old building for their break, which 45mins had already passed. I explained I only had the loading dock and service elevator for a set amount of time and had to be finished within that window. They eventually arrived at the new building, again there was a strong smell of weed. They quickly began unloading using the carts provided by the new building. They also assured me they how quickly unloading goes and they would finish within the window. We explained the building clearly stated we could be charged a fine for going past the reservation window. As we neared the end of the reservation my partner went to talk to Concierge since the unloading had not finish but was nearing the end. Thankfully the concierge assured us we would not be fined since they were almost done. Once they told us everything was unloaded, we realized our outdoor table and 1 lamp (from a set) were missing. They told us the table was left at the old building by mistake but that we should be able to go back and get it on our own. They did not have us do a walkthrough of the empty truck, which is normally standard procedure. I have no way of knowing if these items were broken or stolen. But overall it is gross negligence on their part. The move went longer than we were quoted, despite having 3 movers instead of 2. We were told we were only being charged for 2. We later realized we were charged for mattress bags, when we provided those. That charge was not mentioned to us when the lead mover was going over everything. Additionally, the carts supplied by the building were just left in the hallway on our floor by the elevators and not returned to the loading dock like they should have. We had to do that ourselves or risk getting fined by the building. I raised these concerns with the point of contact I had (DJ) and was told to follow the claims process in the paperwork I received. He also made a point of saying "I hope you don't hate us, at least not me." That is just a weird statement to make - I had a terrible experience and would never recommend this company to anyone. But to be concerned about whether I "hate" you instead of trying to correct the situation is astounding. I sent everything via the claims email. I received no response and after a few days had to send a follow up to ensure it was received. I had to resend all the photos of the missing items and then was told I would only get $0.60 per pound of lost item. That was the default reimbursement. Since we moved 0.5 miles the idea/risk of things being lost or broken was minimal. Additionally, the table was estimated at 52lbs and the lamp at 15lbs so the fact that this moving company lost around 67lbs of items across 0.5miles should make anyone question how well they can handle any distance of a move.
