I strongly advise against using this company for RV rentals. Our experience with them during Prairie View's Homecoming was an absolute nightmare. Michael and Lindsey misled us, repeatedly claiming they were en route for delivery (for which we paid a $600 delivery and pickup fee). Hours passed, and they still hadn't arrived. When we tried calling, they either put us on hold indefinitely, didn't answer at all, or told us someone would call us back - which never happened. After repeated calls, I finally reached someone who said the RV was supposedly "there." However, no one had ever asked us for a specific space number or directions, so how could they even know where to deliver it? Despite our calls, no one provided a clear drop-off time, and by then, it was too late. We were frustrated and disgusted with the complete lack of customer service and attention to detail. To make things worse, they charged our card while we sat on campus waiting. Eventually, they told us the RV was "on the way" - but this was one hour before tailgate entry closed, after we'd been waiting in the heat for four hours with cars packed full of supplies and perishable food. Then, Michael and Lindsey casually informed us they had switched our RV to another vehicle, without notifying us. Only after bringing this up did we receive an email about the switch, which felt incredibly dismissive. When the RV finally arrived, it was much smaller than expected, old, filthy, and completely unfit to accommodate us and our gear. It hadn't even been filled with water, and the delivery person broke the generator upon arrival. Even without the break, the generator's breaker kept tripping, so we would have had no power. Despite paying for water, dumping services, and a generator, none of these were delivered as promised. We were so fed up that we sent the RV back and ended up without an RV for the entire weekend. After ten years of tailgating at Prairie View's Homecoming, this was by far our worst experience. Michael and Lindsey's lack of customer service and disregard for their clients is appalling. Use this company at your own risk - they'll take your money without delivering the services you paid for. This is not where you want to spend your hard earned money. On 10/23/24 Wednesday @12:10pm spoke w/Lindsey (who was helping at the office) called again @ 14:26 spoke w/Cruz he said he would relay the message on needing a generator cord that was not in the RV. @ 1730 my sister and fellow customer of your company Lindsey said rep would be at my RV by 1800/6pm. Lindsey gave my sister Jonathan's number bc he had the cord to the generator. By 2000 still no Jonathan. After contacting Jonathan we had to walk at least 1.5 miles to find him. Jonathan gave us the generator cord. Cindy opened the slides and awnings while Jonathan figured out why the AC was not blowing cold air. After troubleshooting for 20/30 minutes Jonathan tells me the LVRM AC is not working. He's gonna have someone come out by 9:30am on 10/24 Thursday to fix. Jonathan also tried leveling the RV but the sliding doors to the shower would not stay closed and frig kept on freezing and icing up-(found this out after Jonathan left for the night-- RV was not leveled properly). We lost an entire day of use and a portion of our food went bad because our ice melted and could only salvage a portion by using another customers refrigerator. 10/24 Thursday called Jonathan at 11am no answer. By 12pm still no technician. Jonathan and technician showed up around 2pm by 2:30pm on 10/24 Thursday Jonathan said it can't be fixed it will need to be replaced. Around 2:30pm Jonathan called Mike (owner) to relay the news. Jonathan said we would get a call from Mike at 5:30pm on 10/24 to find out when they will be out to replace the part. Mike did not call at 5:30pm we called at 5:55 and spoke with Mike. Mike relayed he couldn't order the part because the company closes at 4:30pm. So the part would get ordered on 10/25 Friday and was told there would be a technician to replace by 11am on 10/26 Saturday. No tech showed up nor did we receive a phone call about the status. We called Mike at 12:47pm on 10/26 Saturday he said he ordered the wrong part and was unable to repair. By this time, we only have less than one day left; all the while no AC in the primary spaces. I was hosting friends and family, cooking and couldn't be inside the RV bc it was too hot. The awnings both front and rear didn't work. The space was not cleaned. I had dirt/hair (shower) and empty bags of trash inside the cabinets and when pulled out the couch there was an overwhelming amount of trash and items left behind from other guests. This was not a good experience at all. I'm requesting a reimbursement of $1150.00. I only used 35% of the RV. The other 65% was either unusable, dirty or broken. Follow up coming in regards to our experience with Mike and this company. After chasing down Mike because he dodged my calls for a few days or would say I'm going to call you in a hour which did not happen. Instead of negotiating a reimbursement amount he tells me, this is what we did. Wait, why wasn't there a conversation about what happens next. We paid $2000 for 5 days and we expected 100% usage of the RV we rented. Mike tells me that I will receive a 1 day refund and a 2 day gift certificate for future rental. When speaking with Mike on Saturday 10/26 of said rental we discussed that we did not want any credits, he said he understood and would see what can be done once the rental was returned. He tells me he has no control over the RV not having working AC on delivery and that he rents the RVs from other people. I told him that was not my problem. As a paying customer I expected to use 100% of the RV we rented and that didn't happen. He was very dismissive and tried to tell me that my perspective was not the same as his. He's exactly right my perspective was not the same bc he's the owner of American Dream Vacations in Houston and I'm a paying customer and I'm not happy. Had I read the reviews prior to this experience I would not have booked with him. My sister had a few challenges with her experience as well. The Albq branch took my $3k and reserved a unit for me. Then emailed me just before pickup and said the unit was not available. Wanted to give me a smaller unit. I asked for a refund. They refused. Posting here because I see that the owner occasionally responds and may address my concerns. I chose ADV because of their location and pricing. There didn't seem to be a ton of little extras like other companies. When we arrived to pick up the unit 7 weeks ago there was a line of clients furious and wanting to complain during their drop off so we were nervous but hoping for the best. We didn't experience great customer service from anyone. They were all radioing that they were ready to go home but that wasn't our focus, we were just excited about our trip. Our unit had several minor issues but nothing that kept us from enjoying our vacation. Sometime during the trip one of the access flaps fell open over the muffler. It seemed like it was on fire so we were so grateful we stopped when we did to discover the issue. Naturally we started googling the cost to replace and we couldn't find anything over $115 so we felt like it was a relatively minor issue and again were just tremendously grateful because it seemed like it could have turned into a bigger situation. When we checked it back in they also assured us it wasn't a big problem. A couple weeks post trip I asked about getting part of our refund back and was told they were waiting on the price from wherever they order the doors and they would get back to me once they had it. At most I'm imagining a $200 door and installation I was thinking we might get $100 returned. Now it's been 7 weeks. When I followed up again Kim stated the door just arrived and they want $1158.75. There must be some other damage uncovered during their review?! No. The door arrives white so they'll paint and put a sticker on it and that is going to cost us $1158.75??? This little door seen in the picture. There's just no way. Her emails were so short with absolutely no explanation. I've asked for an itemized list of these repairs but haven't heard back yet. RENT SMART! I say this because my husband and I had some ups and downs that you can avoid. We rented a travel trailer from this company back in April. The experience started with a high note as one of the workers there, Eugene was AWESOME. He was very helpful and went what my husband felt was above and beyond helping get everything ready for us. There was a problem with a fuse in the power jack on the front that showed up but it seemed to be a one-time issue. Chelsea went through paperwork with him - she was very nice and seemed to know her job well, but as hindsight would later reveal she didn't make certain items crystal clear that should have been. After the initial excitement was over, and my husband got the trailer home, we discovered a few things about the trailer we weren't happy about - we found a few roaches, a very soiled mattress, and the trailer had a few bangs and scratches and just generally looked like it had been through a lot. After buying fumigators, disinfectant, and a mattress cover, and choosing to move forward, we set out on our trip. The trip was mostly enjoyable. On the way up, we didn't have any further issues (except a couple more roaches) and the annoying fuse issue which would occur at almost every stop, so we had to buy fuses. We also lost a bumper cap and the sewer hose along the road which seemed odd because we checked the caps at each stop, which we replaced at our destination. As instructed, we also checked the tire pressure at every stop and everything for the most part seemed to be fine. On our way back, as we were driving, one of the tires blew out. We didn't hit anything, the tire tread just separated. As instructed by the manual, I contacted roadside assistance who came out pretty quickly (nice local kid) and changed our tire. The blowout also caused some damage to the skirting which he removed for us for safety's sake. The real issue was the water line had also apparently been damaged so we had no fresh water inside the trailer for the remaining two days of our trip (no shower, no toilet, no sink). Still, accidents happen, so we carried on back to home. When we returned to ADV is when the experience took a serious tone. I expressed to the lady in the office (Kim) who checked us in that I had a few items we had purchased that I wished to be reimbursed for (the bug sprays, mattress cover, etc). She immediately got a tone with me and acted as if she didn't care at all about some of our experiences, just told me to "fill out these forms." When we discussed the tire blowout with her, she told us we would be responsible for the tire, the roadside assistance call, and the damage to the unit, and that it would "get pretty expensive" and that "it was in the contract." We were FURIOUS! After gearing up to fight with them about this, my husband received a message from Bart, the owner, who was trying to investigate what was going on. After Bart got involved and realized the treatment we had received, he stepped up and made things right, as any reputable business owner should do. So, long story short - one really good employee and a responsible owner helped rectify any bad things that happened. But, take time and READ the agreements you're signing, EXPLORE and INSPECT the unit you're renting, LOOK at the interior and the tires. After waiting for over an hour while they were trying to fix the 25 -foot slide in the RV we were taking, they told us we were good to go and it was all fixed. It was not!!! The slide never worked. That was not the only thing wrong with the RV...I don't have the patience to go through all that was falling...literally falling apart on the thing. The RV being in terrible shape is not the worst thing about American Dream Vacations!!! Not only did they keep our deposit they demanded $10,000 for a 1/4- inch scratch on the back bumper that was already there. Why should a scratch cost that much to repair? You ask? Well, it's not the scratch we were paying for; it's the lost revenue from that RV, so they said. Needless to say, we are now in a lawsuit with American Dream Vacation. They are suing us. read more

Every summer for the last six summers our vacation has included a motorhome rental from American Dream Vacations. Each vacation has been an incredible journey that has provided a lifetime of memories for our family of 6. We find no other type of vacation that can match the untold adventures found in a road trip. Our experience with American Dream Vacations has been exceptional and we look forward to the continued tradition of renting from them for many years to come. This is not to say we haven't encountered challenges along the way, but when we have, American Dream Vacations has been tentative to our needs and done all they can to ensure the impact on our vacation is minimized. I have read the other reviews and I think the challenge often starts with expectations. This is a different type of travel, a different type of vacation. When renting an Airbnb (as we do often) you should expect a different experience than when renting a hotel. Airbnb is our preferred choice for accommodations given the unique experience, but it comes with its own set of challenges as well. The same is true of RV travel, but for those that know what to expect I suggest there is no more rewarding type of adventure and vacation than an American road trip in an RV. We have seen things, done things, eaten places, and shared experiences that would have never been had with any other type of travel. read more

I have rented from this company 2 times. The first was ok but they did not provide enough information on the rental unit. The 2nd time was terrible!! It was December with temps in the 20s and heat did not work. Carpet was wet from a previous leak and they didn't bother to dry it. Unable to use the rental unit but company refused any refund. In fairness they did offer 1 free day on my next rental, however, I doubt that will happen. It took a month of calls and forms to even get that offer. Very disappointed! read more

My family and I reserved a unit from American Dream Vacations for a week long road trip. On our third day we had to conclude our vacation and return home due to their faulty generator. We called to report the issue and they stated they were sending someone to assist and no one ever showed, but they returned our call the next day. With the week retail you are given 1000 free miles; however, due to the faulty generator we only utilized the unit for 3 days. Since we returned the unit after three days that voided the 1000 free miles for the week rental. Upon returning the unit we were asked to complete a form requesting reimbursement of the mileage fees (which we were charged .35 cent per mile and we did over 1200 miles). The company denied our request. Instead, we were given a gift certificate of a free one-day retail for later. It was a nice gesture, but did not compensate for ruining our vacation nor does it show a reliable company that stands behind their product or business. I would not recommend this company to anyone because their lack of customer service and satisfaction is a horrible. They ruined a fun filled family event and made what was supposed to be a special outing with my husband and children a nightmare. read more

Be Cautious. American Dream Vacations doesn't support their RV's. Ours had problems with escalating RPM's with no power - their answer was "we can tow it and you find your own way home" The AC stopped blowing - their answer was "turn it off when you are not in it". The windshield wiper (just driver's side) had a broken arm. They wouldn't even reimburse our cost at AutoZone to make it drivable (while it was raining across Texas) with Rainex. RV was DIRTY. Had a broken acrylic nail on the bed and a bullet casing on the floor (we have young children). I would give zero stars if possible. First, I did not get the unit I reserved because that unit flooded in Hurricane Harvey, but the company didn't even have the common courtesy to tell me that. They just delivered an inferior unit with no explanation at all. The contract does say they can substitute units when necessary, but good customer service says they should at least inform us. But that is nothing compared to the rest of our experience with them. We arrived at the state park after dark on a Saturday evening and found no trailer on the site we reserved. The company was already closed until Monday. They do not provide an after hours phone number, and apparently they do not check email or Facebook all weekend, either. We left messages at all three places asking where the trailer was. We drove around looking for the trailer, but it's very dark in state parks at night since there are no street lights, so we didn't find it. We thought they had not delivered it at all. We had to make alternate arrangements for four people and two dogs on short notice. The next morning we drove around and found the trailer. They had delivered it to the wrong site. We reserved a spot with full hookups. It was site 13. They delivered the unit to site 113, which is a tent site with no hookups. The slide on the unit was not out, since there is no electricity on that site AND the battery on the trailer was dead. They did not even chock the tires. They literally dropped the trailer on a tent site and left. We couldn't have used the trailer in that spot even if we wanted to, since it was not level and the slide could not be put out. It wasn't set up at all. You would think the delivery driver would figure out that there was some kind of misunderstanding, since it doesn't make sense that someone would want a trailer with a slide on a site with no electricity and no water hookups. He could have called me, or he could have asked at the park office for confirmation of our site number. But no, he just dropped it on site where it was not usable at all and left. Since the company was already closed and does not provide an after hours number, we had no choice but to find someone with a pickup and ask them to move the trailer to the correct spot on the other side of the park. But first we had to jumpstart the battery on the trailer so we could hook it up to his hitch. Then we had to set up the trailer on the correct site ourselves, using our own leveling blocks, since they do not provide any. When we returned home we filled out the forms provided by the company to request a refund. I thoroughly explained the situation and requested a refund for the one night that we did not have use of the unit, and half of the delivery fee, since we had to jumpstart it, move it, and set it up ourselves. They claimed that they delivered it to the site I requested. They actually believe I wanted a trailer on a tent site with no hookups. I have camped at that park several times. This is not my first time having a trailer delivered there by this very company. I know the site numbers in the section with full hook ups. But yet they claim I told them site 113. Again, if there was any question, they could have called me or asked the park office which site number was ours. They also said that according to the contract they cannot refund any days of rental unless the RV is in a repair facility for 24 hours. That part of the contract is talking about a breakdown. I never claimed the unit had a breakdown. That section does not apply to this situation at all. I am owed a refund of one day's rental because I did not have the use of the unit for the first night that I paid for. Why should I pay when I couldn't use it that night due to their major mistake? I am also owed half of the delivery fee because I had to do half of the work myself. The bottom line is, American Dream Vacations has awful customer service, hires drivers who can't think for themselves, and doesn't care enough about their customers to make it right when they know good and well they messed up. They would rather lose a customer and risk a bad review than do the right thing. read more

What is the equivalent of negative 5 stars? - 5 moons Equipment wasn't working properly when I showed up for pick up. Two choices either you delay your vacation and reschedule or you wait 4 hours, only for them to offer temporary fixes. They seem to think that what equipment you think is broke is not essential equipment in their opinion. Don't choose to pick up right before closing time you will get no help if there is problem. When you're on the road good luck getting any reasonable support. You are pretty much on your own., any repairs you decide to make are out of your pocket unless you get it in writing. Watch out when you return your rental. One of the tactics they use to keep your deposit: The porter will add damage notes after you sign the completed check in form. Just Count on loosing your deposit no matter what. @ American dream vacations. Don't bother to respond with more BS answers, Not interested in dealing with anyone from American Dream Vacations of Houston ever again. This review is long over due! my family rented the RV for memorial weekend and it went well. the RV was functional and spacious for the family. The main reason I write this review though is because of the wonderful help I got from the staff. I had lost my AirPods and was sure they were in the RV, I called and talked to someone and she told me she would look and let me know. I did a check up call a week later and someone answered and had let me know that they were still searching. Fast forward weeks later, my dad gets a call that they had found the pods in the RV lodged in one of the slidings. Weeks had gone by and they remembered to keep an eye for it! This was my first time renting from Amercian Dream Vacations. Rented in March for Easter weekend. I had rented from a different much smaller RV place in Humble last year but wasn't that happy with them, also rented from a small place in Spring they weren't that great either but American Dream does RV rentals right. Motor home we rented was clean, new model, functioned great. Staff knew their stuff when it came to the motorhome, they did a really thorough, helpful orientation . When we paid the deposit they told us we could use the deposit towards any rental at any "American Dream Vacation" location but when we called the Flordia location they said we could not. Owners beware! I turned over my new camper to them knowing it would have wear and tear. What I didn't know was they wouldn't take care of it hardly at all. On the first rental it suffered such damage that I cried. It had tremendous hail damage to begin with. Ok I understand stuff happens. I had to force their hand to get them to replace the exterior. They had insurance for goodness sake. Then they only replaced the minimum. They never did replace the stickers.. They did not replace the front severely damaged (rock guard). They said it was from the road. That damage was not there before that rental. Then the guy who replaced the outside told me he'd never done it before. This was his first time. It suffered terrible water damage after that over time and still leaks. When I decided to take it out of rental was when I went to check on it after a rain storm one day and there was water all over the counter which was now so warped that it had come unglued. The couch was soaked. I asked the owner to meet me out there the following week. He did and it had rained more and there was still water on the counter. He had the gaul to say, oh, that's from the last renter. OMG! Really?! I'm a woman but I'm not stupid! That renter also put a hole the size of a fist in my entertainment center. They did fix that. I guess I didn't check it well enough when I took it back because I found a hole in the wall to the outside in the bedroom cabinet. Why inside a cabinet is beyond me. The mattress was so bloody when I took it back that I had to throw it out and buy a new one. I would have anyway but it was disgusting. They had to replace the front window. GOD only knows why and when they replaced the curtain it didnt even match and was not properly attached. It still falls off easy. All the mini blinds are messed up. Every single one. There is rust in the fridge. The heater doesn't work. There are gross stains on the dining room cushions that were supposedly going to be cleaned. NOT! The floor looks like someone poured clorox on it. The stereo had some kind of sticky something all over it and doesn't work most of the time. Wear and tear my you know what! I suffered such aggravation and real mental anguish while my trailer was in their fleet so much so that I removed it. It did make good money but it wasn't worth it. Just to name a few of the things that went on were.. When I would take it out for a trip, more times than not (and I do have a witness to all of this) it was dirty including the toilet was full. One time I waited for hours. No one came to clean it (because they were busy) so I just took it and left and had to clean it myself. Is this how you they treat all owners I thought. I always gave them MONTHS PRIOR notice. Another time, I was going to TX Renfest also with a few months notice. I did not have a truck and when I put it in the fleet, I was told they could/would deliver it for a fee. Renfest is not that far from their location. I reconfirmed it a week before with their front office staff-Kim. The day before I called to reconfirm again and was told they couldn't do it because again, they were so busy....REALLY!!! This is my vacation and the day before you say you can't. Why wasn't I called? Then they said they would have an employee take it home and deliver it the next day. NOT! Also, when I put it in the fleet, he talked me in to letting them use my hitch. BIg mistake because when I took it back out of rental they said they never got one from me.. I had to really push the issue to get it back and it was a good expensive one. When I did go to pick up the trailer to remove it, they said they didn't have it and they would make me one. Again, I had to wait hours for the guy to get whatever they needed to "make it". It's a piece for crap. They had weeks notice that I was coming to get it and now I have to wait hours? I could go on and on with stories. I was charged for new tires just a couple months before I took it back. Well, they weren't even close to new tires when I picked it up. It was filthy dirty when I arrived to retrieve it. I'm not exaggerating either. I made them wash it. It looked like it had never been washed since it had been there. Seriously.. When I took it back, both propane tanks were completely empty. I did notice and made them replace them. I had the extra large ones when I gave it to them. Of course I had the normal size when I took it back. I have more stories but I'm going to stop now. It caused such strife in my household.. In the end, I just felt like they didn't give a damn about my unit or customer service by any means. I work for a Fortune 500 company and if I treated my clients this way, I'd be fired. If I had it to do all over again I would not. The aggravation alone was not worth the money. read more

When booking a motorhome for a one week rental in Albuquerque, NM, I told the company that we wanted to go to Chaco Canyon and we would be dry camping most of the week. The motorhome was not capable of that and was generally in poor repair. i.e. A screen fell out of a window before we left the city. The front tires wore beyond safe use withing 150 miles on highway driving. Coach door lock wouldn't open from outside and we had to remove it in order to use the coach entry door. A piece of a window frame came off in my hand the first time I opened a sliding window. The cups were paper and the dishes were flimsy plastic. The handle came off the large fry pan and there was no cover for it. The furnace would not run the entire night after boosting the batteries to 100% before retiring and setting the thermostat at 55 degrees. I was told about the rough road to Chaco Canyon and it would be OK to drive it if keeping the speed between10 and 15 mph. I drove that road under 10 mph and would never do that again in a motorhome. If I were an owner, I would not permit anyone to drive that road in my motorhome. There were other things I could also talk about but you get the idea. I still have not been able to get my $500 deposit back after more than 3 weeks. The manager said they couldn't do repairs immediately because they had to continue renting the unit and that after the rentals that they would do repairs and refund the remainder of my deposit. The windshield did have 2 small chips in it when I returned and I did not check the windshield before leaving so it is possibly my responsibility. The "T" handle also broke off the greywater valve when I pulled it to dump the tank. I will take responsibility for that as well - reluctantly. I have to wonder how they could continue renting that unit with a door that won't lock and in need of a front end alignment. This serves as a warning to be very careful when considering renting with this company. Read the contract thoughly and carefully as there are inconsistancies in it. read more

Run away as fast as you can. The staff is dishonest and the mechanics are incompetent at best. Everything is great until you have a problem, then their true colors show up. They have no interest in helping you with a problem. Since it is not their motorhome, it is not their problem. They will lead you to believe that the "Corporate Office" will review your claim, but all that happens is the local office gives you a voucher at their location so they can ruin another one of your family vacations. My family and I decided to take a RV excursion at the beginning of this year - a good friend of mine recommended American Dream Vacations since they have rented from them in the past and had an amazing experience. We decided to go with them and Bart and the crew were fantastic. From the initial contact to the drop off of the RV, everything was perfect. There were actually a couple of times we had questions during our trip and Bart was able to assist us quickly. On January 23, 2015 I called American Dream Vacations inquiring about renting a travel trailer for a family weekend trip. I spoke to a gentleman named Michael Velazquez. I had already been on their website browsing around at the different trailers, when one popped out to me. The 26' Spree, It was immaculate! It looked brand new, and looked like a good fit for me and my families weekend getaway. I spoke to Michael about the trailer and he assured me that everything was as it should be, so I went ahead and gave him the required $200 reservation fee. For two months my wife and kids could not wait for our upcoming weekend camping trip. Seemed like all we talked about! Our whole trip had been planned around this Travel trailer, even down to reserving the spot at the camp ground. On march 25, 2015, the day of pickup. Two friends and I arrived at American Dream Vacations to take delivery of the trailer, with plans to head out of town with it the very next morning. I walked in and spoke to a lady behind the desk, explained to her why I was there and explained which trailer I was to be renting. She handed me the keys to it and told me to walk out on the lot to have a look at it. As soon as I rounded the corner and saw it I knew we were going to have problems. It looked absolutely nothing like the pictures. When I walked up to it there were two men trying to get the awning to closed (not a good sign). They explained that this was indeed the 26' Spree that I had reserved, so I walked inside for a further look. The thing literally looked like it had been flooded. Lets face it, travel trailers arent built the best. Mostly composite lightweight materials and particle board. All the decals on the exterior were either peeling or gone, all the base board and door frames appeared to be rotted and falling off, the carpet was nothing I would want any of my family walking on barefoot, and there were tons of things broke and scuffed up on the inside. All the while the two gentlemen were still outside trying to get the awning to fold in. (You cannot tow a travel trailer unless the awning is fully folded in) I walked back inside and explained to the lady that there must be some kind of mistake. That thing on their lot was not what I reserved, per their pictures online. She said "Its just normal wear and tear" but that he pictures of it on their website were from when it was new. I told her that I didnt want that one and asked what other options they had, so she sent me out to look at a different one. It was definitely a nicer trailer, but was alot bigger and was going to cost quite a bit more money ($300). At this point i asked to speak to a manager. After he finally finished his cigarette he walked over and asked what the problem was. I explained the whole situation to him, and his exact words to me were "So what do you want me to do?" I chuckled, trying to hold in my extreme anger and frustration at this point and explained to him how badly the trailer was mis-represented on their website. He explained how they do not own any of the RV's, that they are all individually owned, and that they had just had a conversation with the owners of this trailer about its condition. But yet, they are still renting it out and taking peoples money. I explained to him that we were leaving in a few short hours to head out of town and asked what he could do for me as far as a discount or maybe even renting me the larger trailer for the same rate. Keeping in mind I was still willing to rent the thing being that I was pretty much out of options and my time constraint. He basically told me that he could knock off $10 a day on the Spree and there was no discount he could give on the larger trailer. That was going to save me a whopping $30 on a $700 bill. I was so angry and frustrated at this point I walked back inside to the lady behind the desk and she explained that we would loose our $200 reservation fee due to their 90 day cancellation fee. I HADNT EVEN HAD IT RESERVED FOR 90 DAYS! She said, that was policy and it didnt matter. So extremely angered I felt best that i just left their lot before I got myself in trouble. We did still make our camping trip, but it wasn't until I spent another $300 on a tent and other camping gear at the local sporting goods before we could get on our way. We filled a claim with our bank to get back the $200 deposit we made. 2 months later Visa sided with American Dream Vacations because I signed a contract. Visa didn't care that the contract stated the trailer would be in good condition, but the trailer home looked like a dirty meth house. Now we are out $200 for trusting a company to post accurate pictures online. My wife attempted to resolve this with Kim at American Dream Vacations, but they are impossible to work with. Paid $1500 for 3 days in a class A 40 ft that was billed to be top of the line, it was disgusting. Hardly functional, my husband had to put the console back together on the leveling system, no water hose, water tank was empty, more than half the lights didn't work, carpet was FILTHY, stains that looked like blood- linens were stained (also looked like blood), mattresses had holes in them, there was an air bleed on one of the jacks so we had to manually re level every hour(auto system was bust) cabinet doors missing, trim missing, wasn't clean AT ALL when we got it. Seal assembly on toilet was broken allowing the smell of raw sewage to fill entire motor home for the duration. Sliding doors were off their tracks and not functional. Kitchen package was worn and gross, toughed it out one night but had NO WATER. thank God we brought some. NEVER EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. Took THREE HOURS to check out to boot. AWFUL AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We have disputed the charge with AmEx. This was probably my husband's 4th time to rent from this particular establishment and had had good experiences prior, we will be sure to let all our friends and family know to steer clear from now on. Rip off. I rented from the Boerne location for a weekend trip in June 2016. Everything went fine and we had a good time. The trailer we rented had minor damage all over it but we didn't care as it was only to sleep in. We brought it back and went on our way. Since then I had rented again only this time from the Houston location as it saved me a couple days charges on travel time. Now, four months after the 1st rental, October, They call me up claiming I caused $1100.00 in damages. I blew a gasket! They claimed I signed off on it which I didn't, so one can only assume they added the damage after I signed. They had even gave me back my damage deposit. After I blew up and hung up on them they called back a couple hours later saying they had went through other customers who rented the unit to see if they may have caused it. Now why would they do that if they already claimed I signed off on the damage? And why give me back my damage deposit? Beware! A den of thieves. At least the Houston location went through the initial walkthrough with a video camera. read more

I would not recommend renting from ADV to anyone. It took 4 hours to get on the road. After they set up our vehicle correctly, the guy changed the hitch and we had to go get another truck to tow the trailer. (now that we own our own trailer we understand exactly what he did wrong) The office people wouldn t even come out to help in this instance, we were just told to get another truck. (Which we did so that we could get on the road) Three months after we returned the RV they sent us a bill for over a thousand dollars in damages plus over $100 in toll charges. (If they had told us right away about the tolls we could have easily fix the issue since that was HCTRA s mistake, we had added the trailer to our account) It took another two months to get the bill down to $200+ and our deposit for damages we did NOT do to the trailer. Our bank account has been charged without our authorization for the $200+ We are tired of arguing and figure this was a lesson learned. I repeatedly asked to file a formal dispute and was told that they did extensive research and that there is no formal dispute process. Be aware if you aren t careful you will get stuck paying for damages you did not incur. If you are a first timer to the travel trailer RV world ask someone who knows about them to go with you if you rent. The people at ADV do not go over much with you about the trailer or it s operations. They DO NOT help you by pointing out damages that are already there. My husband had to point out to them the broken level and I noted it on our check out paper, if we hadn t we would have been paying for that too. Just because they take video and you write down damages you know of does not mean you will not be paying for things you did not do. Again I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to rent from. read more

More like American nightmare vacations!! I rented from these guys twice thinking the first time was a snag! NOPE they proved to be incompetent yet again. The generator was ancient on the RV so there was no air on a 5 hour road trip. Repairs were made at our destination- temporary. At our next destination - generator out again! Ask the snot nose lady for the owner shes says..oh well I am in charge right now! they didnt bother calling us early in the day to inform us there was an issue instead they waist-ed our time and then tried to stick us in a complete piece of sht!
