Spent several hours working with a salesperson looking at used Jayco Alantes and was wanting to buy one on the lot. After negotiating a base price they of course wanted to add ridiculous extra charges to the price which I had a problem with and finally we were at a difference of about 300 dollars that was clearly still a money grab on their part. I asked the salesperson to send me an email explaining the charges and what the benefit was to me. So the "professional" sales guy decided to ghost me for 3 days. No reply to any texts etc just silence. So after 3 days the clown texts me, this was the day my inspector was to inspect the RV, saying it was ready for my inspector and he just wanted me to be happy! What a joke I never texted him back and ended up buying a 2024 new Alante for not much more than what I offered for the used one. I watched that used Alante lose tens of thousands of dollars of value at PPL and all over 1 single email over 300 dollars! So take note of this if you are thinking about selling your Rv through these clowns! The actual owner got royally screwed by Ppl since that motor home was basically sold for a much higher price many months before it disappeared from the lot. All over 300 dollars! read more

Terrible customer service! They're fine while you're there during the purchase BUT you can forget about any follow up repairs that they didn't catch on your walkthrough. Dropped the Ball Over and over each person I had contact with, dropped the ball. It started with Jennifer in February. She texted me after I inquired through their online sales group. She texted up until the moment I showed up to see the camper-van. When I showed up to meet with her, she wasn't there and neither were any other sales people. It takes an hour to drive there from my home. I was able to see the van, but couldn't drive. No one was there to help me at noon on a Saturday. Then never received a return text from her. So I watched the van online through RV Trader. Sent questions, made offers. For a month and a half no one contacted me. The price dropped twice. In April, I was able to get a sales person to return my call and was finally able to test drive. I made an offer and was ready to close. That took about a week. in the meantime, numerous people called to give me quotes for upgrades and said they would call me back. No one called back. When we came to pick up the van there was a walkthrough. First thing was some one had taken a crap in the toilet, so that had to be cleaned. Then they left all the tanks full so I had to pay to have the tanks emptied after I left. I paid almost $700 for an inspection that should have found that there was a dead auxiliary battery. The auto part of the van, I was told they had done an inspection, but I had to pay $2,500 for a new A/C compressor. When I left, I was told it would take about 2 weeks to get my tags. After 3 weeks I called and was told the paperwork had just gone out that day and I should be fine since my temporary tag was good until June 23rd. On June 10th there was a message saying my tags were in. I called back immediately and spoke with Tracy. Tracy told me the tags would go out the next day mail. I checked the mail every day. On June 23rd, I called and asked Tracy if she mailed out my tags, She said she had. When I asked for a tracking number, she transferred me to Gladys. Gladys told me that she would send out my tags that day FEDEX and that Tracy had never notated that I returned the call. I told them to hold on and I would drive once again the 2 hour round trip to pick up my tags(with expired tags by the way). I gave my card info over the phone and I had fraud charges the very next day! they also tried to get us to sell our trailer for a lot less than what we actually sold it for. they don't care about you at all! we bought and sold there. In November 2023, we consigned our 2016 Winnebago Forza with PPL Motorhomes in Houston. We were assured it would be well cared for--kept clean, checked regularly, and maintained in sell-ready condition. We trusted them with our RV based on their reputation. Over the months, the only updates we received were requests to lower the price. No serious offers were presented--until May 2024, when PPL themselves offered to buy it for $80,000 (far below the original valuation). Shortly after, we were shocked to receive an email stating that the RV had mold and water damage, including a soft floor. This was the first time we were notified of any issues. We've since had the RV inspected independently. The damage appears to be the result of prolonged water exposure--something that likely could have been avoided with the regular upkeep PPL promised. We are currently giving PPL Motorhomes the opportunity to take accountability and resolve the issue fairly, either by repairing the RV or honoring their purchase offer. Took our travel trailer to PPL for service on dining table, side panel, electric tongue motor and door locks. Bill was $500 and change. Was called 5 days later with the 'estimate' now $1600 and change. 3 days later the call came saying the BILL was $2400 and change - without authorization!!! Almost went postal! Turns out it was very poor communication on their part -BILL was just another updated 'estimate'. Needless, I said 'no' to the estimate and went to pickup the trailer. It took over an hour to have it brought to me. They did 'check' the tongue motor and work on the table which was done very badly - for $500. After a long discussion with Ricky (the service manager), he agreed to remove $109 and change from the bill for the poor work done on the table. This was supposed to have been done a week ago. Three phone calls and messages left with the staff (Ricky wouldn't answer the phone) and still no refund. Just piss poor service, work and communication. Accordingly, will not be returning to this place! read more

***Do not buy insurance protection policies from PPL.*** We bought the top-of-the-line plan for our Itasca Solei RV, but when we had a legitimate claim after a breakdown, their insurance provider (National Auto Care Corp.) plan denied 2/3 of the charges, would not return phone calls and deliberately misstated what happened as the reason for the denials. The contract is so full of exclusions and legal loopholes, you would be far better off finding a legitimate 3rd party provider. read more

Was not a good experience. Sales person fell ill early in the negotiations, there was no backup. Information was not shared properly, communication was horrible. Surprisingly, after quite a process, we did successfully buy the RV. Both my wife and I agreed that it was one of the most frustrating and disorganized transactions we had ever done. Then, to add insult to injury they mailed the plates to the wrong address. Instead of fixing their foul-up, evidently they will "reimburse us", and we must go deal with the DMV to re-register the RV. I am very disappointed in the lack of effort given to sell our motorhome. We paid to have it kept clean, it wasn't. The doors were left unlocked and looky-loos were left unattended, which resulted in damage, which was inadequately repaired, and minor theft of small items. There was no effort made to sell, other than the posted ads and photos. It's a big ticket item, however there is no way they would have earned the $20,000 commission if it had sold!! That's a ridiculous amount out of the seller's pocket for posting an ad, and potentially processing the transaction. It's the same amount of work for a $200,000 coach as it is for a $10,000 trailer! Their "service" dept charged us over $300 to simply re-hang the rock guard, and quoted $450 to replace the deteriorated wiper blades, which we refused! Criminal! read more

After 2 years of having my Rv doing repairs for a electrical fire near the fire place/entertainment center I have a entertainment center/cabinets that's 3 different colors and no longer hav glass in the doors , I no longer have a sound bar and there's still debris in the floor vents/ducts.. There's problems with the rear AC along with a long list of other work that wasn't done which they billed my insurance company for or looks like it was done by a 4th grader at best. I am extremely disappointed in the whole process of how PPL handled the sale. I felt like we were pressured to the extreme. Very high pressure to fix things that worked when we dropped the RV off. Parts were thrown away and we were charged ridiculous amounts to spray WD 40 on the jacks and awning. The techs did not know how the new 12 volt refrigerator functioned and charged a ridiculous amount to figure it out. Same on the furnace. Ended up costing $5000 to sale. bought a used 2020 Alpine Keystone 5th wheel in sept of 24---1st extended warranty issue was taken care of promptly in October 24--- since Thanksgiving of 2024 the refrigerator had issues! They kept the RV a total of 115 days(4Mos.)! I think they finally got it fixed- they would take things apart and NOT put them back!!-- they told me a number of FAIRY TALEs all of which was not their fault!!! I can't get a meeting with GM-- the service dept is embarrassed to tell the GM i Guess, we were without the RV at times, but I had to make a 70mile round trip to pick it up and same to take it back!! I would NOT recommend the PPL complex to anyone after this fiasco nor the service dept. I would call once a week to check the status--- NOONE in service dept would pick up the phone!!!! PPL Motor Homes and a Senior Citizen's Sad Experience Last Spring I was in the market for a used Airstream Interstate. My kids were not happy that their 80 year old mom was still pulling a 19' Airstream Bambi. On the internet I found a used Interstate I could afford at PPL Motor Homes on the Southwest Freeway in Houston. When I showed up I was assigned to Paul Daron. He is a charming salesman, but ultimately dishonest. I was prepared to pay cash for the 2018 Airstream. Paul gave me a persuasive pitch about helping his family by financing a portion of the price for six months. He did tell me that he and PPL would receive a finder's fee and that I could pay the balance off after six months. Oh, he forgot to mention that the interest rate would be 12.9%. Next came the pitch for insurance. I initially said no as I was happy with USAA. Paul told me that for $1000 everything on this used motorhome would be covered for 12 months. During his pitch he took a "call' from a recent buyer. His side of the call went like this: "I am sorry that you are having a problem. When I offered you the insurance you declined. Unfortunately you are on your own." Hearing only Paul's side of the 'call', I reconsidered and said yes. I found to my chagrin that no such one year policy even exists. The service manager warned me that I should always verify what a salesman says. The policy Paul sold me costs $10,000 for 3 years. It does not cover 'as is' problems on a used motorhome. I discovered this after my first trip. I brought the RV back to PPL with multiple problems. The insurance covered $229 on a $1500 bill. I wonder what Paul's commission was. I should have had one of my children with me when I was signing the very large stack of papers. The person who handled the closing failed to explain either the 12.9% interest nor the $10,000 insurance plan. I trusted Paul so I just signed on the many dotted lines. When I discovered that I was paying $10,000 for insurance, I tried without success to get in touch with Paul. He did not return my calls. Finally I showed up in person and asked to talk to the General Manager. Geno Mazariegos is also charming. As I told my sad story he listened carefully and even took notes. He promised to have the insurance charge removed from my balance at Members Choice Credit Union. That was in July. In August I made another long trip to PPL to see Geno. He reassured me the charge was in the process of being removed. "Please give it another few weeks." It is still on my loan balance. The 6 months required to earn PPL their finder's fee is now up. Purchased a complete awning kit. The cost was over $1000. Product that was ordered was not sent or received instead only received an awning that was not the correct one trying to rectify the situation with management. They do not stand behind their sales or product. Apparently female sales person who I dealt with makes these mistakes often and they support her. I wouldn't recommend spending one dime with this company.I guess I should have read ALL THE NEGATIVE reviews on this company prior to doing business with them.regardless of when it was purchased, all of the parts should've been in the box. read more

If I could give them a negative 10, I would. On 1/31/25, Thursday evening they did not sign until after closing, my son signed the papers on a 2021 Keystone Hideout 21ft travel trailer price at 12995, and I specifically said that I did not want a warranty and they said I could get extra insurance that will pay me $5000 if the RV was totaled or stolen . We were told what the payments were, we got copies put in a folder and we left because I was told I could not take the trailer because my truck did not have a manual brake to pull it. I did not need an electric brake I have and F250 3/4 ton truck and the RV weight was only 3300 lbs. I left it there and got a brake installed on Sunday. Monday evening the CEO of PPL, GIO called me at 5pm, almost closing time to inform me the the unit had been stolen on Saturday morning 2/1/25 and that I needed to file a theft claim on my insurance, and by the way you got the extra insurance that will pay you $5000 in your pocket. This sounds fishy to me! Tuesday I called the lender and found out that the deal had not been funded and when and they did not know the RV had been stolen. The lender Iron Horse Lending, told me that the were not going to fund the deal as I advised them because the RV was supposedly stolen. Later that evening I received a call from Gio the CEO and he said they were undoing the deal and would return my down payment. When I looked in the folder at the documents they had not given me copies of there were absolutely any of the financing papers but that they had put a buyer page and they had added a $5700 warranty, which I had told them I did not want. It is now Friday 2/7/25 and I still do not have my down payment back. There is nothing in the world that can convince me that this was not a scam and that were trying to get funding from the finance company for $19,000 before they knew it was stolen, trying to get me to file a claim with the insurance company so lender would be paid, and tell me I will get a check for $5000 from the optional insurance that was on the trailer. I bought my travel trailer back in March of 2023 and have yet to receive my License plate. My temp tag has expired now! And on top of that, I just recently got my title in the mail. They want to finance you so they can get $1,000 back from the bank. I call that a kickback! I paid cash, and they were very insistent on financing! Also, they sold me stuff for the traily I didn't need. The slider did not need support according to the manufacturer, so that was a waste! My rv sat for 6 months priced well under market value and when someone finally was interested in it, the battery was dead, the generator was gummed up, the window had leaked and damaged the slide wall, the list goes on! Terrible communication, finding ways to charge you for service and labor and parts, the do not keep your battery charged or do regular checks or plug it in to make sure systems keep working properly -- all in a way to make more money off you! $10k in service bills and $4k in commission and you walk away basically owing them for selling your rig! I bought a 2020 Winnebago from them and in their fees they charged a $300 VIP detail and walk through to show everything works and is clean. There was black mold in the fridge, and it looked like someone spit dip in the sink and there was stuff all over the toilet. The guy who was doing the VIP walk through and described as their best said all they do is a wipe down. Well a wipe down and a detail are two totally different things. A Detail is a professional job and a wipe down is a trip through the youth sport donation car wash. Actually they did a better job. The guy they sent acted like we were wasting his time and didn't want to be there. When I pointed out the missing screw from the dangling oven rack it was was cosmetic which I found under the stove later when troubleshooting the broke water pump. So, We took it out to a local camp ground to test the unit before we took it on a big trip. So, I was trying to sanitize the water tank and the water pump did not even work. After bring it back home and looking at the water pump I discovered that the water pump and the Carbon monoxide detector were not even connected. The wires were just dangling around in the cavity where they are located under the sink. So after some more testing stuff there is a rocker switch that should turn on a light but does not seem to work. So, after some research I discover there is suppose to be led lights under the awning. I found the wire in the channel that goes to the non existent lights that the vip walk through did not find ! By their Best guy , RIGHT! I also discovered one of the speakers don't work. I am sure it was just over looked. Hmmm If you buy something from PPL don't get the vip walk through it is a waste of money. They don't do a detail cleaning. Which is how it is described in their paperwork. Take a check list and check everything yourself!!!!!! As far as Winnebago quality ha. The couch was uncomfortable during our short test trip. So, we took it to a upholster. And the straps they used to support the seat cushions were the plastic packing straps used to ship boxes pictured Below. I had heard PPL would be the best place to sell my RV. Their deal is they would show my unit, keep it clean and safe. Their communication during the process of getting my unit onto their lot was good then it all went downhill. The only time I heard from them was when they wanted me to reduce my price. They were talking 10% and would pass on a deal rather than working together and giving up some of their commission. After 10 months, I finally picked up my unit. In the course of this time, my unit became filthy, has a TV shattered, and developed a leak that ruined my roof. They were supposed to be the stewards of my property and failed miserably. When picking up my unit, they refused to take any responsibility. They were sure to point out that any their agreement states any damage that occurred on their lot was not their responsibility. They let the public move freely in and out of these unit and if someone vandalized an RV, too bad. I would never recommend this business. read more

Honeslty do your own research on whatever you buy because the sales reps don't know much and even if the did they don't care. I luckily ran into the previous owner of the trailer I purchased while I was browsing. Don't buy the extra add ons especially the wax option because they won't even do it. Sandra with parts will recommend incompatible tow hitch parts for an upsale. The mechanic told me that a WDH could twist the frame of my trailer but they didn't care. She completely ignored my email. Shane with finance was even worse. Unprofessional and sent one worded emails to honest questions. I'm still waiting for my money to be returned to me. Expect a change of attitude when you change your mind on the extra warranties. Maybe just don't shop here. read more

Three items found on buyers pre inspection were quoted at $450 to diagnose. I fixed two myself (rubber washer missing on water inlet and broken safety stop cable) for about $15. On November 29, 2021, we took our RV to PPL to be sold. At the time we took it, we were told it was in good condition & would sell quickly. Then it began. We felt pressured to agree to repairs as there were potential buyers on two different occasions. We kept coming down on the price every time we were called there was a potential buyer. Then got a demand call for more than $10,000 in repairs. Made an appointment with customer service representative & was told we would not have to pay until RV sold. Spoke with Nikki about an adjustment on all the charges. Was told she couldn't do that as the warranty had ran out while on their lot to sell. We received $3962 for our RV on 03/06/2023. That was sixteen months after we took our RV to PPL. We feel totally taken advantage of as a senior citizens. I feel that PPL thinks they can continue to take advantage of their customers & not anything will happen. I know the reply will be "they are sorry I feel this way". It is chilling to see all of these reviews have similar outcomes. Even to the point of saying we needed to buy new furniture as a selling point. Maybe this will help one person from getting taken advantage of is all any of us can expect. read more

They had our trailer for 7 months, it eventually sold for $10k under their initial evaluation. $60k toy haulers are not easy to sell outright. That is the only reason we didn't do it ourselves, they can provide financing to prospective buyers and we cannot, of course. They did NOT earn their commission! Between the agent and the service department, communication was terrible. They wrecked our trailer and didn't tell us, they only planned on fixing half the damage. We bought a couch through them to replace the original, asked specific questions about the function and what we received did not work in the space at all. They damaged the front cap while performing a paid service on the roof and did not fix it in the 6 months it was noted. Never again will we do business here. I went to check on my trailer monthly and I suggest anyone who does take something to any PPL do the same. Hatches were left open by service when they were working on it. Thankfully we had a dry summer and they only got a sprinkle into the trailer between my visits. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED We took our class B RV to PPL with great hopes that we would be able to sell our coach. On our initial visit they gave us a price that we thought was a bit higher than it should be, based on the research we had previously done prior to taking it in for consignment. We listed it for less than their recommendations. Our initial contract was for 90 days. We also took it in on a promotion "List you motorhome by this date and we'll give you $350". Needless to say we didn't sell our motorhome and picked it up recently. We kept our motorhome on the lot for 5 months. Any contact that was made was by us calling to request an update. We had several price reductions along the way. Our motorhome was in excellent condition and clean but we paid the required $575 cleaning fee. You would think that if you are under contract and paying a business 10% of the proceeds they would make some effort to maintain the motorhome. When we picked it up...ALL of our batteries were completely dead. The van battery, the back up jumper battery, and the house batteries. We have spent about $1000 to replace batteries when it could have been avoided had they taken the time to just start the van on occasion while it was on their lot for sale. I can imagine if anyone looked at it and they had to jump the battery to get it started that would throw up a red flag for a potential buyer. With getting a commission they should have some ownership in keeping it in a running manner while in their care. On top of all that, the promotional credit, 6 months later, still has not been paid as agreed upon. The only call we received was 2 weeks AFTER we picked up our motorhome giving us an update that it still hasn't sold and not getting much traffic. We had to inform the caller, not sure if he was the manager or not, that we picked up our property. He didn't know. We were very disappointed with our experience. read more

The Service Department at PPL has a terrible lack of integrity! They tell you something and have no idea if it is accurate or not. They tell you they have to charge you industry standard - who makes this supposed "industry standard?" They overcharge, they lie and they tend to make thing up as they go. I very seldom write a review but I feel like I need to write one this time. I took my 2008 Country Coach Intrigue 530 Motorhome to PPL in Summerfield Florida to put it on consignment. PPL had just taken over that location. I signed a 90-day agreement and left it in their hands. I agreed to put tires on it and fix some minor issues that were needed. The coach wasn't listed for sale for one month after I left it and the photos on the website were so bad that no one would even come to see it. I complained and new photos were taken that were not much better. I did not hear from PPL at all during the three-month contract, no offers or any movement at all so I notified them I would be picking it up. There is a switch plate missing inside that I cannot replace because there are none available. The door light is broken and is literally hanging from the side of the coach. I picked it up and was presented with a $12,371.39 bill. I replaced the wiper blades 6 months ago and PPL replaced the wiper blades again @ $167.00 I had the roof re-sealed one year ago and PPL charged me for a reseal@ $ 1375.77 The bill has a total of $10,039 labor . I had to pay $12,000 to get my motorhome back which was a shock to my bank account. I did sign an agreement to repair some items but not to redo items that did not need repair. I was also charged $495 for a premium cleaning which was not done. When I picked up the coach it was dirty inside and out. There are white streaks coming down from the "newly sealed" roof. The windows are dirty, the inside smelled like cigars, and it was never smoked in by us, we don't smoke. The inside was not clean. The wheels were dirty. I didn't see any evidence of a $500 clean job. I am posting this as an FYI to others who may be considering using PPL and is only my experience with this dealership.
