My friends had a burnt in taco, and a brisket, taco with jalapeños. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable, and we had a table by the window, so there was plenty of light. The Al Pastor is one of the best versions I've had, with pineapple chunks enhancing the flavor from the crispy pork. The barbacoa is tender and fatty, an big punch of flavor. The red salsa that is super spicy as well. A bit too spicy for me, but has wonderful flavor. This place is looking to be our newest default taco place.

Decent Burger, But Not a Smash The burger here earns a modest 3 stars. It's not terrible, but it certainly isn't the "smash burger" they claim it to be. My patty turned out much thicker than anticipated and was cooked gray throughout, missing the juicy interior and crispy edges characteristic of a true smash burger. I also question their assertion of using locally sourced prime grass-fed beef, as I've experienced superior quality from my local butcher making my own "smash burger" at home. The texture is difficult to describe, but its somewhat dry and crumbly, like a poor meatloaf. It certainly does not melt in your mouth or have that typical crispy crust expected from a so called smash burger. While the fries were decent, they didn't stand out, and the portion size was underwhelming for the $4.50 price point. Plus, the addition of their Cajun seasoning cost an extra 50 cents. The combined price of a burger, fries, and drink surpassed $20, making it a poor value for the quality provided. To make matters worse, the picnic area lacked napkins and condiments. Although this food truck positions itself as a premium dining experience, for the Austin area, it falls short of fulfilling that promise. read more

It's Saturday night and I put in an order around 8:30pm. The website currently says they close at 10pm. First off, I get to the establishment and they've completely changed spots. Same trailer in the lot but in a different spot. Not the biggest of deals, but they didn't say anything about it. So I go to the new spot and I am greeted by no one. Finally the guy comes to the window and I tell him I have an order. In a rude manner he proceeds to say "Yeah you do. You're cutting it close". I said "What do you mean? Online it says y'all close at 10pm". He then has the audacity to tell me "That's not correct, because of daylight savings we close at 9pm". This is the most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. He was absolutely wrong trying to make it seem like he was right. When he should've taken full responsibility from the get go. Terrible experience and they could never get my business again! read more

You guy's have to try this place! They've just opened and are already killing it. They get a ton of online orders so if you walk up you might get stuck in a line for a little bit because of the demand for this stuff but OMG it's so worth it. Wish I could give 1,000 stars. I look forward to seeing these guys on Triple D in the very near future. Gourmet burgers and brisket coming out of a tiny trailer. You've got to see it or should I say taste it to believe it. Ambur Fire delivers when I want a burger that doesn't feel like it just came off a frozen shelf. The Smash Burgers are juicy and flavorful, with tasty crust from being cooked on the flat-top, and their brisket sandwich is moist and rich without being greasy. Fried pickles and onion rings hit just right -- especially with their house blackened ranch. The amount of DoorDash and Uber Eats orders coming out of Buddha Burger is insane, and for a burger joint, they seemed pretty on top of getting orders out in a timely manner. My buddy placed his order first, getting the California Classic and their Chocolate Toffee Cookie. I ordered the Big Buddha with their poutine purely out of curiosity. In about 10 minutes, both of our orders were ready. Inside the gas station, there is one large kitchen island style table where everyone can sit. The Big Buddha was good. It didn't wow me by any means, but it was solid. I think the hype around it being the best smash burger in the area led to some disappointment because it was fine. It didn't make me melt or blow my taste buds away. The California Classic my buddy ordered was also good, but nothing extreme. As for the poutine, I do not see myself ordering it again. Ever. The cheese curds were not as melty as I would hope, even with hot gravy poured on top, and by the time we got to it, the fries were completely soggy and lacked any crispness. I know poutine is inherently soggy, but this just did nothing for me. Maybe I'm not a poutine guy and that could be on me, but I'm just being honest. Neither of us cared for it. I know most of their business comes from delivery apps so this probably isn't seen often, but for a place called Buddha Burger, there was no awakened state from the staff. I've become weary of most especially if they get special treatment and don't talk about the plus and minuses. Everything is a lie these days. At least they didn't put generative AI in the burgers.
