Ordered 18" "Cheese" pie ($28), "well done." Was cooked impressively accurate to order with very good crispness, but found the underside a tiny bit over-done. Probably due to being made "well-done," there was nothing excpetional about the pie; it was seemingly a slightly inferior pie to F.B.I. pizza. The dough was nicely thin but not very airy. The sauce was nicely savoury without being to plain "tomatoey" or watery. It wasn't very noticeable (likely due to pie being "well-done.") The website claims they use Galati cheese (not sure if its mixed with Mozzarella) but the cheese flavour was not exceptionally noticeable. Would reccomend avoiding ordering a "well-done" pie to have a better experience. "Mac's Pizza" is nearby to the west and "Levant Pizza" is nearby to the east. Lots of pizza diversity and choice along Bloor in this area, and worth a visit to all 3.

I came on 2023-08-24 and 2023-10-27, both times at my son's request. He came once before me. The pizza slices are huge! It is bigger than our faces! They mostly sell 14" or 18" whole pizzas, but you can buy a cheese slice ($7.50) or pepperoni slice ($8.00). We ordered pepperoni slices both times. It is possible to buy a whole 14" pepperoni pizza for $25. The pepperoni pizza slices were delicious. They have you shakers to add your own chili flakes and/or cheese. The service was attentive. The kitchen and takeout-only were opened on Feb 2021. The tavern portion (with indoor and outdoor seating) opened on Jun 2023. The tavern also introduced an extended menu (wings and hanzerotti) and a bar with bar counter seating. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms, but they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-356

This place does Windsor style pizza (shredded pepperoni & canned mushrooms). The names of the pizzas are all Windsor references. Got the Real deal. Small is 13". The shredded pepperoni meant every mouthful got some pepperoni, but also that the pepperoni taste was less concentrated. So whether this is good or not depends on your preference. The pizza sauce was good & it was well integrated. The crust was light & crispy & the cheese was more gooey than elsewhere.

So it's a soft opening. You can find on Instagram. @ambassadorpizzaco Windsor style pizza. So of course I had to try it. https://beltmag.com/cheese-please-how-did-pizza-become-one-of-windsor-ontarios-hottest-exports/ From this link I read this "A Windsor pizza place, Armando's, was named the third-best pizza in the world at the 30th International Pizza Expo in Vegas in 2014. " So not officially open yet lol. But I got 3 pies on valentines. Good: definitely yum. Soft crust chewy, tasty Bad: not cheap but that's what you get. Looking forward to being able to select my own toppings. Current offered 3: cheese only, pepperoni-mushrooms-peppers?, super has a bunch.. Anyways I got all 3. One was for a friend. If you're near ossington worth getting. They are in defunct gelato place.

Windsor pizza - known for shredded pepperoni to ensure you get pepperoni on every bite and canned mushrooms to ensure your mushrooms don't burn. It's a thing. But they do offer fresh mushrooms for the less adventurous. Cheese is extremely gooey. Crust is crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. Website mentions five specialty pizzas. Been boosting Windsor pizza for years. Once restrictions are lifted, there are gonna be some epic face offs soon. Windsor pizza vs Toronto pizza. Best of luck!

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS from Ambassador Pizza Co. is loaded with tomato sauce, cheese, ham, bacon, pineapple, and hot peppers (18" large pie for $36 plus tax). Though their tomato sauce is on the subtle side, their abundance of other ingredients really kept each bite flavorful. Thankfully this pie was not too salty despite the double meat, and the pairing of hot peppers really gave it that slight tangy kick, which paired so well. Oh, and I also requested for the garlic brushed crust finish which was mild to taste but free of charge, so why not? To further elevate flavor, I paired this our with their GARLIC DIP but it wasn't my favorite version, as it was quite heavy on the vinegar. Overall, the crust is where this pizza falls short. Though the outer edges were prepared nicely, resulting in a decently airy (but no wood oven bubbles) crust, that was soft on the inside with a crisp exterior, the undercarriage was not well done. This meant a floppy pizza that broke apart upon handling. Note: I had preordered online for 8 pm but the pizza wasn't ready upon arrival. Just a 5-10 minute wait.

519 - Shredded Pepperoni, Canned Mushrooms, Green Peppers and Mozzarella

Growing up in Windsor but then moving away for school here always made me miss Windsor style pizza (known for shredded pepperoni and canned mushrooms). Even after being in NY and trying a bunch of pizza spots, Windsor-style pizza will always have my heart. I was so happy to find Ambassador Pizza here in Toronto! Feels like a slice of home. My order was the 519 - Shredded pepperoni, green peppers, canned mushrooms and mozzarella. I also love how the pizza names relate to various places around Windsor. I just wish they opened a location closer to King West!

Small hidden pizza place across from Baker Bots. I've always seen that place, but because its pretty lowkey, black storefront I never really knew it was even a restaurant until today when I saw people walking away with Pizzas. I love pizza and I'm always willing to find the new best pizza. So I walked up to their small little window and asked if they any slices left. Luckily they still had a veggie slice, the owner said hes not a vegetarian but even loves this pizza. The owner and workers were actually really friendly and they told me about how their location in Windsor was even better than the one here. He said it was like night and day, as if comparing risotto to fried rice. Apparently one thing they do differently is thinly sliced pepperoni so it covers more surface area. I've always been more of a fan for small cuppy pepperonis but I'm intrigued to come back and try their pepperoni slice one day. On to the pizza slice, tomato sauce was good. Veggie slice comes with onion, green pepper, olives and mushrooms (I believe). The crust when fresh out the oven is pretty nice and crispy. The dough is made with 00 flour according to the owner, however I usually like to test the crust after it cools down a bit to get a better taste for the dough. For me, one of the most essential parts of a pizza is the dough, since it's basically 90% of the pizza. The crust to me should be like really good bread, so good that you're willing to eat it alone and not throw away. For me, this crust was just ok. Not amazing, but good enough. It gets a solid 4/5 for now, but I can't wait to come back and try other things they have or their better store in Windsor.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
