We read about Amazonia kitchen and bath on Yelp and decided to try them out based on their near perfect reviews. We reached out to Randy to do the tiling work for both shower and floors for our bathroom remodel, and also for the fabrication of 3 custom bathroom vanity countertops for us (of varying sizes) out of a black granite slab. Both jobs were executed to perfection. For the tiling, we wanted a wrap-around look in a 1/3rd offset pattern - such that the floor and the walls form one seamless piece in an almost invisible transition. We did not realize how mind boggling the math behind this would be - until later. The tiler understood our vision and executed it to sub-millimeter precision. The layout and the cuts and the ratio were so exact - that there was 0 error no matter how you looked at it, making the tiling a mathematical wonder (accurate) from every viewing angle. The work was done painstakingly meticulously, not a single step was rushed. The black porcelain tile was laid out so intricately all the way to a black window - that the tile became indistinguishable from the window at some subtle point.. The grouting was done skillfully and evenly as well to give us that invisible grout look we were looking for. We feel it was the best tiling job* we have ever seen - that too at the best price. *caution: pictures don't do justice to the in-person look. The countertop fabrication and install was exceptional as well. All the inquiries, planning, job estimation, scheduling, payment etc. was done entirely over phone & text with Randy - it was frictionless and extremely convenient. The project was completed in 7 weeks, from the time I selected Amazonia as the contractor! Please note the that this project continued during the end of year holiday period! From stone selection and various changes I made regarding design, Randy did an amazing job working with me and being flexible throughout! Randy is a middle man, who will never visit the worksite and just hired subcontractors to do the work. He is quick to demand payment but will not do his part in following through with promised timelines. He also promised me my job would be less than 10k and then told me it would be 14k. The subcontractor he used is all the way in hemet..1.5 hours away! They didn't lay out the template in the way we wanted and we had to drive all the way there to have it done correctly. With 4 slabs of marble we weren't going to take the risk of them messing it up. He promised us he would meet us there and of course he didn't meet that promise. I had to constantly follow up with him to find out when they would show up for the install. He promised me a 3 week turn around and a Friday and Saturday install. Which ended up being a 5 week turn around. They came on Friday but the guys said they would come on Monday and finish installation. Monday I waited all morning for them to show up and then I finally reached out to Randy and he said oh they're coming Thursday. Just very poor communication and unprofessional. I would rate the work as 8/10 for the subcontractors. However the hassle of dealing with Randy was not worth the whole experience. read more

Had Randy at Amazonia do my kitchen with over 5 slabs of 5 x 10 foot porcelain tile. I can't tell you how hard it is to find a good craftsman for such a difficult job. His team came out to measure, template and install over the course of 2 days - including a full waterfall for my island and a large backsplash. I have to say that with the size, complexity and difficulty - Randy's team did an amazing job. *Update: So I had a part of my kitchen island's seam that appears to be debonding from the epoxy after 3 years. I texted Randy and he had a team come over to my house within a few days and they fixed it right up. LESSON LEARNED: Hire a licensed contractor with great reputation for customer service and will be around for years.
