My favorite part was definitely the sushi section, as all the rolls were super fresh and reasonably priced! They are also now serving teriyaki rice bowls, which are also great. To my surprise, the bottom contained fried rice instead of just plain white rice! This is a very large, brand-new grocery store with huge aisles for good camera visibility. The shelves are filled with a variety of products, and the store seems to carry a large stock. It's very much a standard, large grocery store with the only notable difference being their special Amazon Fresh check out system, and their Amazon returns desk. If you're uninterested in automatic check outs, it has plenty of self-check out stations, though. As a grocery store it's pretty average, and seems to lean heavily into packaged items instead of having a large section for produce. The prices are comparable to Sprouts or Whole Foods (maybe a little higher for their cheapest eggs specifically), but it's lacking in deals and the items that have sales are sold out. Regarding the parking lot: be careful of the eucalyptus trees if there's a breeze. I've been hit by falling branches before. read more

I had them deliver groceries for the first time. I usually have Albertsons or Sprouts deliver my food. The cucumbers were mushy , slimy, got Italian parsley instead of cilantro, apples were bruised, and substitutions were made without my permission. Was self checking out at store earlier today and had an item priced incorrectly, so I pushed the edit basket button on screen at kiosk. Literally waited for 5 minutes, the only staff over self check out was helping another customer, so I waved at those cashiers who were giggling with each other, three of them, at the time the traffic at store was very slow, then the lady was looking at the only staff, didn't want to come and help, I told her that staff was with another customer which she saw it too, then she dragged herself over, and told me the code I used was wrong, I had to choose another item. Bad stuff first; employees are rude and don't know what they are doing; cashiers are rude; the return window is horrific; the return window manager is the worst manager in history; every order I placed ahead of time to then pull into the spot and wait TOOK OVER TWO HOURS OF WAITING; THE MANAGER OF MOBILE ORDER PICK UP DIDN'T GET TO MY ORDER UNTIL THEY CLOSED AT 10 PM AND I ORDERED IT AT 3PM AND WAITED IN THE CAR SPOT TO PICK UP FROM 645 TO 1030 AT NIGHT; the mobile order pick up manager just kept asking me to cancel it; AS IF WAITING FOR THAT LONG AND PICKING OUT A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS OF ITEMS WAS JUST SP EASY TO CANCEL AFTER WAITING HOURS; it was time invested at that point; I strongly recommend to never ever order amazon fresh for pick up. Additionally, this store has high tech carts, you can shop and scan as you go and use your cards stored on your Amazon account when using the self check out carts. $10 Brisket Meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me? Where have you been all of my life! Enough to feed 2 normal people and 1 really HUNGRY person. You must get this meal. It is crazy delicious! Depending who carves the meat but you still get some crazy delicious soft tender and the right ratio of meat and fat. It comes with your choice of sauce and the sauce we picked was their Korean Style BBQ. So so so tasty. I haven't tried other locations yet but I will report back. I am so sorry that I have a horrible photo because I forgot to take a photo. Additional to that, their sides: roasted corn with red peppers, scallop potatoes and stuffed baked potatoes were delicious. The whole family loved it. I know their rotisserie is only $4.95 but honestly it would be better if you get their $6 chicken meal that comes with two sides instead. I never thought that shopping for groceries could be so much fun! Gone are the days of pushing your basket through the store and waiting in long checkout lines! We have finally reached a whole new level of grocery shopping! Amazon Fresh is located just off of the 5 freeway. Take the northbound exit on Jamboree and then you'll see the large signage indicating that you've reached your destination. It's literally visible from the freeway! Since this is a shared lot, parking won't be an issue as you can park on the other side, if necessary. Amazon Fresh is a step in the right direction, considering the issue that the world is currently facing. Of course, they limit the number of people that can be inside of the store at one time. This has basically become the norm for everyone at this point. Two lines form outside, one to just go inside and shop sans technology and the other is for the Dash Cart. Let me tell you about this Dash Cart!!! It's the greatest thing EVER!!! So you have to make sure that your Amazon Prime account is linked up. You'll get the Dash Cart and scan your code to it. Anything and everything that you load into this cart passes a sensor. It indicates what the item is, the quantity, and the price. Seriously, it's the best thing ever!!! You can delete items from the cart as you remove theme as well. Everything is automatic! When you're finished shopping, the employees will help you bag your groceries, if needed. Your cart is totaled up automatically and then you're on your way! It's all charged to your Amazon account! Isn't that amazing??? As for the selection of food and other grocery items, you'll find everything that you'd see at your local grocers and so much more! Fresh fruit and vegetables are beautifully displayed. Plenty of organic food is also on site. Of course, you'll find toiletries and personal care items. Pet food and even some nifty electronics are available for purchase. You also have the option of picking up your groceries after placing your order online as well. I really have to say that I enjoyed our experience at Amazon Fresh. This is why I never like people bringing their "non-service dogs" to grocery stores. This young woman was shopping here with her puppy and the doggo urinated inside the store. There was a big paddle and she grabbed this big roll of paper towels and started wiping it but geeez, I simply think it's so uncool. Welcome to the grocery store of the future! Automatic shopping cart tracking each item you put in the cart? Check. Cart getting angry when you put an item in too fast or take something out? Check. Cart transforming into an autonomous robot and taking over the world? Not yet! But maybe soon. Generally, it is "kinda" like Whole Foods but different in a few key respects. When you first enter you can choose from an old-school shopping cart, or a futuristic cart (pictured below) where you actually log in to your Amazon account, and it tracks you and what you put in the cart. The futuristic cart option allows you to simply exit the store when you are done shopping, by walking through the "fast lane." There is a person there who helps you verify the total, and after clicking "ok" on the purchase amount shown on the cart's display, you are done! It is true contactless payment, taking away the one of the biggest hassles of going to the grocery store. Around lunchtime on a weekday, the place was an absolute hive of activity, with Amazon Fresh shoppers, regular shoppers, and numerous employees milling about. This location is definitely a hub of commerce. It looked like the employees were putting out items as fast as they could sell them in some areas. Maybe they just got a shipment or something. Who knows. The store itself is easy to access, and the inside is immaculate. They had just about everything a fairly large supermarket would have. They also had many tasty choices for lunch, including fresh food, with hot stuff also. I imagine the spread is a bit toned down due to COVID but it was still nice all the same. And speaking of COVID - yes, masks are required; employees are wearing masks and gloves, and sanitize carts when people are done with them. Shopping aisles are "one way" directions, and social distancing is required. There is also a little section in the back with Amazon products, and a return counter, where you can take your other Amazon purchases as well! Very convenient. Overall five stars. Is this the future or...? This was my first time entering an Amazon Fresh. I've heard people talk about it and read articles but I never set foot in one until now. First impressions I thought it was pretty cool. I wish there was someone to greet/ help you especially for first timers. This grocery store is complete with a deli, fresh meat section, sushi bar, etc. Because it's Amazon they also do returns and have an area of Amazon lockers! The prices on the items are digital and it shows you the review of the products. From my experience the store was well stocked and VERY clean, almost sterile. They also have restrooms located at the back of the store. I couldn't really find too many workers though the ones I did see were stocking. There was one person working a register. If you need help finding an item you ask one of the Alexa machines and she will tell you which aisle the item is in- pretty futuristic stuff! I feel like the experience was okay, it just felt "weird" and "dry"? I can't really explain it but definitely a convenient store to get your groceries with a unique experience. read more

I was impressed by how the dash cart could weigh produce correctly even when other things are in the cart but otherwise I was unimpressed by Amazon's grocery store. My mom, sisters and I waited in line for a dash cart for 15 minutes even though there were only 4 other groups in front of us. It was terribly slow and the woman at the door said it can be even worse when the dash carts run out of battery! People using a traditional cart could walk right in so I admit we made the choice to wait for the special cart. As for the dash cart, it only fits 2 paper bags. The workers at the door tell you that everything must stay under the sensors once you put it in. Well that's certainly impossible when you put the $0.89 French bread in! We had to try multiple times to get the baguette-like bread scanned. Besides that the scanners did work pretty well. For the grocery store, I definitely sensed they took notes from Whole Foods on the layout and pre-packaged food selection but it also gave me bad Aldi vibes (poor quality) I won't be back but I'll be curious to see whether this place succeeds or fails. read more

The produce and vegetables are quite expensive but their have all the national brands for packaged food unlike Whole Foods and we use the Dash cart for the first time which was interesting. I love this place. I've been here a few times already and seem to be walking out with things I don't need. Things to keep in mind, there is a line almost all the time if you want to use the smart cart. No lines if you're okay with regular shopping carts. Fully staffed, you can find them everywhere in the store pushing their standing carts around (reminds me of healthcare workers charting while walking from station to station, HAHA). Great selection of grocery items. Great price. Pretty much set up like a Whole Foods. Great selection of baked goods (my favorite). Pizza by the slice or you can place an order for a whole. You can pay with your Amazon account, just pull up the QR code on your app and they scan it for you. If using a smart cart, you don't have to check out. read more

The 2nd Amazon Fresh opened in Irvine at the Marketplace, where Babies R Us used to be. We went on the Friday that it opened, and was pleasantly surprised at the ease (and fun) of grocery shopping! My first impression was it looked like the old Fresh n Easy, but on steroids. There's plenty of variety in all the departments, but definitely scaled down compared to a major grocery store. You will need to be familiar with prices, as not all prices are better here than at the local chain markets. In order to use the DASH cart, you will need an Amazon account with a card linked to it. That's how the "DASH" cart can be used for quick grocery shopping, and quickly checks you out. Remember its not a Costco cart. So those who complain that the DASH cart doesn't hold enough groceries... go use the regular cart. The DASH cart is weight sensitive, so you can purchase your produce using the cart instead of the community scale. Simply enter the produce PLU number, place the produce in your cart, confirm the weight and presto! you're done. Since the opening, we've been there twice, and have had an excellent experience. The reason for not 5 stars is the shelves aren't always stocked, especially the sale items. It's not to say staff aren't restocking, but the sale items they are promoting are bone dry. Perhaps we were shopping too late (7 pm on a Friday)? Aside from sale items being picked clean, it's close to a 5 star experience. read more

Like many yelpers before me, I wouldn't be here without the amazing $20 off $40. Therefore, that alone deserves 4 stars! Its such an amazing deal in this economy and they keep doling out these specials. I've probably shopped here over a dozen times just at this location and all with the coupon. I've never had a bad experience at this store, the employees are always nice, and how can you NOT like the 50% off going on for 3-4 months now. Yes it's true, the items are limited and I honestly would not do my daily shopping here. Amazon fresh is not made for affordable cooking for a medium family, it is made for the young single yuppies. Yup, if you're single, lazy, don't cook, but like some form of fresh food once in a while, this is the place for you! There are many pre-made meals here that you bring home and throw in the oven/microwave or there is the fresh deli section. Although I do have to warn you the fresh deli section can use an overhaul. The food isn't very good, the pizza is horrible, the cheap in house 0.89 cents baguette bread is crap, but the soup is decent. What I do get is the milk. Organic milk has gone up $1 or more everywhere and it's really expensive. The eggs, yogurt, canned goods, bread, medicine, and lots of items on the dry aisle are all good choices! Than there's also the technology. It's cool shopping around with a cart that reads your items and charges you as they go in. I've never used it myself since there's always a line to use one. The original thought around first creating the Amazon fresh store was to have cameras and technology that recognizes your purchase and automatically charges you and all you have to do is walk out. The second Amazon Fresh in the United States opened near home so of course we HAD TO go! Located right next door to Ulta. If you're familiar with Tustin Market Place.. this used to be Babies R Us. Plenty of free parking in a large lot. We came on a weekend evening which so happened to be the last day to use a $10 off $35 coupon so we waited 40 minutes in line. We received the coupon in the mail and staff was handing out the same coupon to everyone in line. There is a line for using a regular standard shopping cart and another for the Dash Cart. The Dash Cart line was much longer and moved slower. For the Dash Cart: You need an Amazon account with a linked payment card. Log in before entering the store and pull up your Amazon Fresh barcode. Scan the barcode on the Dash Cart and start shopping! The Dash Cart is the super cool new cart with a screen where it automatically scans the items when you place it in your cart! It will also erase an item from your list when you remove it from your cart. You can also check out on the screen without having to line up. I thought this was a fun experience and loved how I can see my total before checking out. There was a staff member at the entrance to walk us through the process as well as many staff members throughout the store. Checking out with a touch of a few buttons was a breeze! As for the prices.. some items were cheaper and some items were more expensive from our usual shops like Ralph's and Target. For example, gingerbread Oreos and gingerbread Belvitas are more expensive here than Target. I also noticed Hormel chili is cheaper here than Target. You just have to do your homework to get the most bang for your buck! There are Amazon brands for many items which had good deals! We specifically purchased Amazon brand ground beef and cheese for less than Albertsons and Ralph's. Due to this new store's popularity, there was a very long line which stretched past Ulta and quite a lot of people inside who walked in all different directions. "One way only" and "do not enter" signs on the ground were not followed or enforced during our shopping trip. However, the staff outside managing the line to enter did a great job in enforcing social distancing. read more

There were 2 lines outside, one for regular carts that immediately got you inside and one for the dash cart which had about a 15 minute wait. Employees were very friendly and extremely helpful on how to use your phone app and the dash cart. Ready, Set, Go! I was on my way grocery shopping inside the store where there was plenty of fresh produce, a great deli and bakery section and a wonderful diverse selection of grocery and essential items I can simply place in the dash cart and it will scan and tally up all the items in the cart for a simple checkout at the end! The only complaint I have is you can't roll out the dash cart to your car to unload and need to transfer your bags into a regular cart if you can't carry the items out with your hands. read more

I had the chance to visit the first Amazon Fresh store while under construction in Woodland Hills, California months ago before the shut down. This new location is full of technology just like Woodland Hills along with the upcoming stores. The grocery card is not only smart, you can check out through the cart. The cart is very smart. Put your item in the cart, and it's added to your shopping list, removed it, and the smart cart removes the item so your not charged. The prices here are okay. I feel on major brands you can find better deals at Stater Brothers (for example). Amazon Fresh does carry many of your favorite major brands, but I think other stores will draw higher grocery receipts. You will find everything here from seafood, meat, fresh produce, bakery, hand made sandwiches, Amazon products, plus package pick up, and returns. The only reason they wouldn't get 5 stars is because pricing seems high on many major brands. People are loyal to brands, and grocery stores. Only time will tell if Amazon can get brand loyalty for the Amazon Fresh brand. read more

So i have been trying a few different items throughout the store and while some are really good others are just so so. Premade salad from the Deli Counter- most of the options average about $7/lb. I tried the pesto pasta salad which has fresh cherry tomatoes and small balls of mozzarella cheese in it. It was decent but could use a little more pesto flavor. Aplenty Snacks- Tried a number of different snacks including the potato chip and pita chips. The kettle style chips are pretty good but some of the flavors just dont arent strong enough. For instance the sour cream and onions and salt and pepper are lacking. The ghost chili could have a spicier. Favorite so far is BBQ and the garlic and parmesan. The pita chips are ok but rather thin so it doesnt hold up as good as stacy pita chips when used to dip with hummus. Brookie- This can be found over in the bakery area where the rest of the packaged pastries are located. Normally my expectations for store bought cookies is pretty low but i was pleasant surprise about this specific item. It was actually very moist but not greasy and not overly sweet. Many of my coworker and i agreed that for a store made cookie, this was pretty darn good. Premade hummus- The classic version has a very strong garlic taste. The red pepper one is ok as well. Anyways, this place sucks. The lighting is sterile and awful makes you feel like you're in a psych ward, half the dash carts are broken so you're always waiting if you want one of those carts, the registers are also insanely long, shelves aren't always stocked, the carts in the parking lot is a giant mess, and the employees aren't pleasant. I never thought I would write a review on an Amazon Fresh, but here we are... If you are an old school person like me, you will not like shopping at this futuristic supermarket. The entire process from entering the supermarket to checking-out was extremely confusing. It's so confusing that they hired several dedicated personnel to explain the process to customers. If you plan on entering an Amazon Fresh store, make sure you have a linked credit card to your Amazon account. Without it, you can't enter. The complicated process is below: 1.) Scan your phone with a linked Amazon account and a linked credit card into their Amazon system. This will generate a QR code. 2.) Once you scan your Amazon identity into the system, the holy Amazon gates will grant you access to the supermarket twilight zone. 3.) Pick up empty shopping bags for your groceries. 4.) Walk around the store while thousands of cameras watch what you put into your grocery cart. (It's borderline creepy and weird) 5.) Go to the check-out gate. 6.) Once you are at the check-gate, an employee will guide you to the check-out scanner. 7.) Scan your Amazon account information back into the system.....AGAIN. 8.) Leave the store. 9.) Receive your receipt 30-minutes to 3 hours after you depart the store. Note: upon checkout, you do not know the subtotal for your groceries. Amazon will send you an itemized receipt after you depart the store. This is because their creepy cameras have to calculate what you spent and then auto populate it into their system Yes, you read that correctly. You pay for your groceries upfront without knowing the total. If there happens to be a mistake with the total on your delayed receipt, you have two options: -You can request a self-refund through the app or contact customer service -You can call Amazon customer service (Who wants to waste time calling Amazon to dispute your grocery bill for 2 dollar apples??) Again, the entire process is made confusing for no reason. All in all, this was one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. On top of that, it was expensive which was pretty surprising considering their produce and meat department didn't look all that fresh. Amazon is a good company, but this business model and digital concept is not their best work. If this is what the future of supermarkets aspire to be, I won't be going grocery shopping often. This location gets more frequented than others because of it's prime spot in The Market Place. As a result, inventory is limited and a lot of the items I was looking for, as advertised for sale, were out of stock. Additionally, a lot of the items are simultaneously pulled off the shelves to fulfill Amazon Fresh online orders so it's like a constant competition with online shoppers. The Amazon shoppers who are pulling the items for the orders will help you if you can't find something, but they seem distracted because they're being detracted from their job of prepping online orders. I do like the fact that this location is one of a few with the famous Dash carts, which allows you to checkout without having to go through a cashier's register. The technology works well but sometimes there are a few technical issues. read more

I finally went in this store, wanting to see what all the hoopla and coupons were all about. Very disappointing, they had a sushi chef that seems to run the sushi counter with his stubborn arrogance. He stands there making sushi filling the refrigerated bin with pre-made sushi packages. I asked if he could make me 2 rainbow rolls without the cucumber just avocado. He said NO! We got into it, and I thought why does Amazon try so hard to get new customers in the store, and then hire a sushi chef that treats customers so terribly. While looking for Lavazza coffee, and seeing the various strengths, I asked one of their employees if they had the Classico (there was a slot for it but the bin was empty). He said he doesn't know, and was filling an order and couldn't stop and look it up on the hand inventory machine they carry. On another aisle, I didn't see Ponzu sauce and asked two employees, just standing chatting amongst themselves if they had it. They laughed at me, and repeated the name of the sauce like it was a joke. Strangest responses I got for a product that could have been in the back and the shelf needed to be restocked, since they had a bin for it. I don't know what this store pays their employees, but by the experiences I had, I would think not enough to treat customers so rudely! Why does Amazon waste so much money circulating coupons to bring people in this store, when they can't keep the shelves stocked and have rude employees? The prices were much higher then any of the local market too, but I justified it with this coupons they send out. Without a coupon don't waste your money here! I was told Robin was the Store Manager when I asked who the Manager was, but she wasn't around when I was leaving and wanted to talk to her. I was really excited to grocery shop here! I've never been to an Amazon fresh before. I'm a huge fan of whole foods and wanted to see if this was similar. Even though they carry things from the Whole Foods brand, this Store was harder to navigate. My partner and I were having a hard time finding items in the store. When we do ask someone for help they two were not able to locate the items. We found most of the items we wanted. I really wish they had more at their hot bar! I ended up getting a side salad with the nachos and Mexican rice. The team here was really friendly! The cashier who rang us up was very nice and helped us navigate using the cart that checked out all the items for us. I definitely wanna give this place another chance, but I would recommend not going in the middle of the day on a weekend. It was really busy! read more

The prices are here are not cheaper than other grocery stores, so there's not much of a point to go out of your way to come here. The variety is the same as other grocery stores. They have the special technology that's different than other stores, but I don't really care about that. Get the item, scan it, pay, and leave. You don't really need all that amazon tech stuff. Their pizza is also gross. Taste very strange and undercooked. Won't return. read more

I am enjoying this place and at least for now i think this place is sneaky cheap. Pro tip: Currently if you return items from Amazon you get $10 off any purchase of $40. That's amazing! Not to mention any purchase over $50 can get a 20% discount. Not sure how long it lasts but there are some savings opportunities here. The store is very nice, and the staffs and the cashier also. Today we left our watermelon and banana at the bottom of the cart, when we couldn't find it at home, we drove back and ask for help, even it is well after store time, the cashier still did everything possible to help, cause we can't find it at the carts so the cashier gave us a brand new watermelon and banana.
