Yesterday evening ,August 28 , I picked up two pizzas from Amato's. I never thought I'd have to lift them up and look underneath. They both had burnt crusts underneath. One was totally black. My husband had even given a tip. My family was leaving to travel back home. It was 7:40 pm . So they had to eat it. My little grandchildren had to eat burnt pizza...I paid $44.00 for burnt pizza! I called and the girl said to take a picture and send it by email. What??? Shame on you , Amato's. You gave me, a customer, burnt pizzas. It was my first time going there. I felt terrible that my little grandchildren had to eat that. Amato's is Sicilian and so am I. A Sicilian cares about what her family eats! I decided on the Amerigo pizza this evening. Very good pizza but just a tad too much sauce on the margherita side of the pizza. No flop on the crust and overall a solid 4. I will definitely try other variations on my next visit. read more

"Out-of-this-world" doesn't even begin to cover it. Last night, on my actual birthday, I walked out of Amato's carrying two steaming boxes that basically turned my 2025 into a perfect year in one bite. First, the Large Cheese. This is the pizza your childhood dreams of when someone says "pizza." The crust is thin but has that magical leopard-spotted char on the bottom, the kind that makes a satisfying crack when you fold a slice. Sauce is bright, just tangy enough to keep you reaching for another bite, and the cheese... dear lord, the cheese. It's a molten blanket of whole-milk mozzarella that stretches like it's auditioning for a slow-motion commercial, then snaps back with that perfect oily sheen. No grease pool, just pure dairy glory. I ate three slices before I even made it to the car. Zero regrets. Then I opened the Sicilian and actually said "holy sh*t" out loud in my kitchen. This thing is a glorious brick of happiness. The corners, those fabled corner slices, are basically fried cheese cubes hugging a pillowy, olive-oil-soaked interior. The bottom is crisp like focaccia that went to war and won, and the sauce on top has that slow-cooked sweetness with little specks of herb that make you feel fancy even when you're eating it straight out of the box with your hands like an animal. The cheese caramelizes right at the edges, turning mahogany and nutty. I'm 99% sure this pizza added years to my life. I've had pizza in New York, New Haven, Naples, and Detroit. This random Tuesday-night birthday pickup just kicked every single one of them down the stairs and took their lunch money. If you're within 50 miles of this place and you don't go get these two pies, I'm sorry, but we can't be friends anymore. 11/10. Would sell my remaining birthday cake for another one right now. Go. The only pizza in the area with a vegan option which I am super grateful for. They do have a tendency to get very busy so make sure you place your order in advance! The workers are so friendly and kind. They let us know they were grateful for our business and always had a smile on their faces. As far as the actual food, it was fantastic. It's hard to admit it but I did eat 5 slices...not my finest moment but it does tell you just how good this pizza truly is. read more

Would not recommend at all. Ordered 12 inch Sicilian pizza and Stromboli. The Stromboli was entirely charred black on the outside and the inside was too salty. The Sicilian pizza used sauce that tastes like it came out of a can. The crust was ok but also burned. read more

Spoke to Madelyn by phone the day before I needed to order and she patiently explained to me everything that I needed to know about Amato's Pizza. Next day I ordered two pies to go and picked up at a time given to me. The pizza was very good, lots of flavor, well done crust so no flopping pizza and no grease running out of the pizza. The pictures of the pizza looked too good to pass up. Being a hop, skip and a jump from where we are staying AND their late hours made this a no-brainer to try. Ordering at 8 pm on a weekday night was only a 20-25 minute wait. I like the pizza. The super thin, chewy crust is the best part. I'd give it 5 stars, but IMO, the sauce is too light. Makes the pizza kinda dry. But I'm sure may people may prefer that. The sausage was the pellet looking stuff, but larger. Still tasted better than the franchise pizza sausage. I was naïvely hoping they'd use raw sausage and the the oil cook in. All in all, I like the place. It's small and run by a couple. I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality and a small business. Walked in when I got off of work and they were so friendly and accommodating. I ordered in advance and they had my pizza hot and ready for me when I came to pick it up. True pizza! This place is the real deal. We order takeout from here at least once a month because we CRAVE their pizza specifically. I get the gluten free pizza (which is always hard to find) & my family likes the pepperoni + sausage pizza. We have also tried the white pizza which is outstanding too. So just as an FYI, everyone must order as soon as they get there on Saturday when they get to the house they rent. The wait for pizza was 2 hours. At first we decided that was too long but after trying to get food elsewhere we called back and ordered. The pizza was worth the wait reminded me of a local pizza spot that we frequent.
