This slice of pizza (I got the Frank Costello) was fresh and very authentic. The crust was super thin with a perfectly crispy undercarriage.

There is a lot of good pizza in the Berlin/OC/WOC area. This is my favorite. There are so many creative pies available by the slice. Thin crispy bottom. Crust you actually want to eat. Good solid cheese. My favorite has mozz, ricotta, and hot honey. Mmmm-MMM! read more

Outstanding slice of pizza. That coming from a North Jersey gal. The crust was cooked just right, thin crust style, crunchy end on crust and chewy, nice size slice. Pesto was not overpowering. Plentiful pepperoni and it was not that greasy. This was a re- heated slice that tasted fresh out of the oven! Very good tasting pizza. Very small place with stools against the wall and window. We finished a long camping trip from out of town and decided to head to Cap'ns Slice for a quick bite before our 3-4 hour drive back. While the Pizza was very good, The customer service was not. We ordered about 5 slices. We wanted to eat a few of the slices in store but was unsure if we could finish it all in one sitting or not. We could not, so we asked for a smaller box due to our inability to fit the large box into our car already packed to the brim with camping equipment. The Bald headed man, then gave a snarky reply saying keep the box that we gave you, and it's only 1 box per pizza is what he told me. The other employee who attended me, while initially kind, was absolutely adamant that you could only eat here or take it to go and repeated that's why I asked you that. This store seems to care more about their boxes than their customers, and are very cheap about it. It seems from other yelp reviews, reflect they have an attitude problem. The pizza may be great, but they're not worth tipping for and won't go the extra mile. It also doesn't help that they have no pictures of the pizzas they list. Just a long obtuse list of pizzas with just the ingredients, and only what's available in the window display. Just raw ingredients sitting unheated is what your options are for the day. read more

Some of the combos don't work on the pizza. All pizza is reheated to serve you, so that is not always optimal. Dough is bland and doesn't stand out for flavor. Prices are on high side, they really aren't reinventing the wheel here and the biggest problem is they don't keep their hours. Today for instance Sunday August 31st, it list open till 8pm and they actually were out of pizza at 2pm and closed for the day. Holiday or not and especially a business that also caters to tourism, keep your hours. Many times we have arrived at 5-6 pm and they are gone already. Sometimes a bs sign saying sold out. Not everyone lives in the town of Berlin and it's a 15 minute drive from OC. Not hard to keep place stocked and open Thursday - Monday and then if you let dough run out Monday late, okay. But when you're out the rest of the days after being in business this long, well it's either poor planning or you don't give a shit about your customers. It's one or the other. The absolute best pizza I've had on the eastern shore and my personal favorite. The owner is here everyday putting in the work and whipping up new creations. All the freshest and highest quality ingredients and handmade by the owner himself. You can get a regular cheese and pepperoni or try something that you have never tasted before! I agree with some of the reviews, where at times the slices have been out for a little bit, but when it comes down the flavor, taste choice of ingredients, etc. etc. The flavor combos are outrageous, artisan pizza for sure. I think at least in the top 5 on the whole coast. If you can, get it fresh, or order a whole pie, if you order there mid day the slice selection is going to be fresher. Still worth five stars in my book. Bear in mind it's basically a carry out. read more

Was recommended here by some locals, and quite honestly, they under sold it. The smell when you walk in the shop immediately lets pizza lovers know they are in the right place. We left for a cocktail while they prepared our food and returned right as they were putting the finishing touches on our two pizzas. It was like watching an artist at work. The meticulous detail the chef put in was incredible to watch. He wouldn't pull the pizzas from the oven until they were perfect. Each dollop of cheese had to be placed in just the right spot. The drizzles of hot honey and pesto were spread so meaningfully, not so that just every slice was perfect, but so that every bite was perfect. The crust would be enough, it's perfection, still soft and slightly doughy in the middle with the perfect amount of crispness on the outside. The toppings are clearly extremely fresh and of very high quality. The menu is creative, but not at all random. Everything about these pizzas had purpose, and the combinations of toppings and flavors are amazing. I look forward to coming back as often as possible to work my way through the entire menu. At the risk of sounding dramatic, my dinner transcended beyond the realm of pizza, this was truly a one of a kind culinary experience. One of the best meals I have had in a long time! wow- was this pizza excellent!! We were looking for a place to grab something to take to the local brewery to eat. not a lot open in town on a Sunday. Happened to walk past this carryout place and I couldn't decide if it was a sushi place or if it was a pizza place. Apparently it is both . they had indiv slices for sale behind the glass and the toppings looked unique and fresh. Apparently they make their own sauces by hand here since they had just used the last of the pesto . no problem at all since there were so many choices. we ordered a whole pie . I can't remember what it was called, but it had chicken,spinach, garlic, tomattes , red peppers , freshly grated parm and the most flavorful crust I have had in a long time. this pizza is special, the staff is so friendly and helpful. There is something in the making here. Before I start I wanna address that this place comes off as a SLICE Place, meaning they specialize in SLICES. I've seen a decent amount of reviews that are upset because they can't order full pies. Any way as I said there is something in the making here, saying this place has a lot of potential but they can't make a bunch of whole pies because of the small pizza oven when they upgrade this place to metal/stone/wood fire ovens there is a lot of competition for being "best pizza" had a cpl slices earlier today and loved them can't wait for this place to level up!!! I've had pizza all over the world, including Italy, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Jersey, Chicago, California hundreds of other places. The best pizza in this world is here. This is the Smollett. It starts with roasted pancetta who's fat is used to fry the fingerling potatoes and provides the crunch that is a different crunch from the crust. Includes locally raised quail, eggs. I would have liked to write a review about the pizza BUT, it was a challenge ordering one. They say they are open until 8pm and this was a Saturday night. We called at 710pm to order 2 pizzas for pickup. They said they are not making any more pizzas. We had been told the pizza was pretty good and had friends in town and said lets try it. The only thing available were a couple of slices. Maybe they should say they close at 7pm? Not sure but still trying to understand what time you have to call by to order a pizza. This place has potential. Pizza is okay, but it's reheated. On a Friday night when I don't want to cook, I want a fresh hot pizza. The only option I was given was to come in and pick a variety of slices from the case. So I did, and they heated them up for me. Stone cold by the time I got home, and it was just okay. I know it would have tasted 10x better had it been fresh. If I'm paying over $54 for 2 pies it should be a fresh hot pizza, not reheated. I would try them again if they start cooking to order, until then it's Pop's for me!!! read more

There's a lot of potential for a pizza place in town but this is just ok. It all sounds good in the menu. My pizza was decent albeit very greasy. You are either warming up a slip or ordering a pie but you can't make your own. Anyway, they have stools and a bar top if you want to scarf down your slice. On this day I was going to take my slice for a walk back to the car and home. I get I only ordered one slice (pretty big) but I asked for a small box to put it in and got an attitude. It was very windy out and she handed me my heavy greasy slice on the flimsiest paper plate with another one placed on the top. I asked for a box and she said "I can give you a bag". She slid it sideways in the bag and there was grease all over the bag leaking and I could see how this was going to go so I walked back in and asked again for a box and she reluctantly got me one with an attitude. I walked out and said never again. They charge enough for a slice so I think they can part with the box. They would do well with a little customer service training. Next time I will get my pizza at POP's kitchen down the street. read more

Discrimination/ADA violation. The new Pizza owner, @Yancey Carapico, engaged in discrimination against me for a hearing loss (deaf in one ear), military service related. When I said something, he snapped at me and told me he did not like the way I was speaking (too loud? Saying hey, buddy)? and that he did not want to serve me. When I noted that I was partially deaf, he did not care, took away my pizza, and said he did not want to serve me. He did this in front of my six year old daughter. I was astonished, walked out, and said to my wife, "did you hear what just happened," and an older man, sitting on the bench just outside the store said to all of us, "he was just rude as hell to me too." TL;dr: This place is crap, the owner is a discriminator, I TOLD him I had a disability, and he did not care. This is no different than calling someone the N-word or any other discriminatory behavior, its just a disability instead. Eat elsewhere. read more
