James our server arrived and was friendly, attentive, and aimed to please for this TGIF. We ordered up some Rhino chasers. The Rhinos were stacked high and easily enough for a table of four. The white truffle aioli was the cherry on-top for the Rhinos! I ordered up the Point Judith lobster roll. The Point Judith was a tasty roll. Let me begin by saying, we have always been huge Ripieno's fans. It's a place we rave about and…read morehave always brought family to or suggested they dine at while in OCMD. The Greek salad and Margherita pizza is our go to, but we have had their cheesesteak subs, lasagna, and their various assortments of desserts. Ripieno's special-brew chai iced tea is something else that has always kept us coming back. That is until today. While the pizza and salad were still very good, they weren't as outstanding as they have been in the past. Customer service is not the same as it once was. When we ordered the chai tea, this evening, no orange and lemon slices were offered. As we were dining outside, I walked in to ask if they had orange and lemon slices for the iced-tea available. The cashier first seemed as though he didn't see me, and then when i caught his attention and asked about the slices of orange and lemon for the tea, he looked at me as if he didn't not know what I was talking about. I looked at the girl behind the counter that walked over with the salad dressing that had not been delivered with our salads and asked her about the fruit. She looked confused as well and said they didn't have any. The iced-tea on its own is very good, but the slices of orange and lemon really make it great! Back to the food...when our pizza was brought to the table, the gentleman that delivered it, (I think he may have been attending the wood-fire oven) threw our paper plates on the table. Next came the Greek salads. We were short two sets of silverware which was noticed by the second server. She said she would return with silverware, but didn't. So, I went back inside and asked for the two sets of silverware we needed. I was asked if I wanted plastic. I responded that I would prefer metal silverware. The girl disappeared and returned several minutes later with the silverware. I realize it is the busy season, but the restaurant was not busy. We've been during the busy season and in the off season and have always had wonderful experiences. I am truly hoping that this was a one-time thing, and that Ripieno's will return to the same familiar place we used to love to go.

I ended up scrapping that idea when I saw the menu of cheesesteaks that could be made with a GF wrap. It was SO SIMPLE with just steak and my choice of cheese provolone or American. Yes you can add onions and peppers if you'd like but it wasn't automatic which for me is the hugest or the huge pluses. A simple American cheese and steak wrapped up into melty goodness was delicious. I super enjoyed it, came out piping hot. Hubs ordered a canoli which I cannot have but I THINK I can eat the filling so I had one bite and WOW can I just order the filling not the pastry? Sooooooooo yummy. They also brought a pizza out for hubs and told him they overcooked it, asked him if the crust was too done and if so they would make him another. I thought this was amazing service as they took accountability right away. Hubs said it was fine and enjoyed his pizza, may or may not have been even better with a not "as done" crust. I think I will return tomorrow night, my last night in town, for another cheesesteak.

The beautiful photos throughout the restaurant added so much character and made the space feel inviting. We enjoyed the lasagna, pizza, wine, and handcrafted mixed drinks, and every bite was absolutely delicious. One of my favorite touches was watching the fresh cheese being hand-grated right at our table--it made the meal feel extra special and authentic. The owner personally took the time to walk us around, share recommendations, and make us feel right at home. That level of hospitality really stood out. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the restaurant was spotless, including the bathrooms. Everything, from the food to the service and even the packaging for our leftovers, reflected attention to detail and pride in the customer experience. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, exceptional hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere in Ocean City, Lombardi's is a must-visit. We called in at eleven for a 6:00 pickup and were already the fifth order. They only take a single order per fifteen minute window, so it can be multiple hour long waits during the dinner window! We ordered a cheese, a pepperoni, a white with roasted peppers, and a pomodoro special (pepperoni, sausage, bacon, green peppers, mushroom, and onion). A true New York style pizza. The slices are huge. The toppings are thin. A folded bite is essential! The interior is just a small pickup counter, a cooler of soda bottles/cans, and a refrigerator of some off-menu salads and cannolis. He told me that "I was lucky it had any basil on it at all because they didn't have any!!!" What?! Shame on you! I explained that was very rude to tell me that and as a business owner, he should have better customer service and either explain that they ran out of basil, instead of leading customers to believe they are getting what they ordered. I first discovered Pino's during a beach trip in 2020, when COVID restrictions kept most of the beach experience limited to our house or condo. Their enormous 28 inch pizzas were perfect for feeding our group of ten and quickly put Pino's on our regular OCMD rotation. Fast forward to 2026, and our group of five wanted a few smaller specialty pies delivered after a full day of drinking our way along Coastal Highway. Pino's delivered in record time, and everything arrived ready to crush. The taco pizza and Buffalo chicken pizza were both excellent and disappeared quickly. If you are feeding a big beach house, the 28 inch pizza is hard to beat. If you have a smaller group, ordering a few specialty pies gives everyone something different to try. Pino's continues to be our reliable pizza night choice in Ocean City. Highly recommend!
