Tom Schaudel seems to be quite the man on this end of long island, i'm suprised i hadn't heard of him prior to my visit. We wandered upon a Mano quite by accident, happy that we did. We started with the cheese course appetizer, the truffled honey + truffle pecorino is otherworldly delicious, although the cracker like flatbread it's served on was bland and tasted "stale". I'm assuming it's there more for presentation, but i'm not a fan of unedable garnishes. The spinach salad was good, but the goat feta didn't provide enough saltiness, so it was a bit under seasoned. My wife's smoked duck carbonara was the highlight of the night, it was perfect in every way. My seared duck + polenta was good, but the portion size was lacking. I wasn't expecting to get more than 1 duck breast, but for $32 i was expecting a nice serving of creamy, cheesy polenta. What i got was a smear of the dreaded spoon push, i was lucky to get 3-4 bites. The huckleberry agrodolce was excellent, not too sweet, with just the right balance of vinegar. The wine pairing offered by the waitress went perfectly with my duck. Overall, the ambiance was nice, and we enjoyed ourselves, but next time i getting a pasta dish. read more

I love a mano! The cheese board is awesome with portions. The truffle honey is out of this world as is the chutney. If you run out they never have an issue with giving you more. The bread they serve is also really good. I've had several salads and all have been good. I usually get the prosciutto pizza minus the broccoli rabe but last time I got the chicken milanese and it was phenomenal! The drinks- peach cobbler and a mano spritzer are great. read more

I reaaaaaaallly want to love amano but the last two times have not done it for me. After my last post the manager quickly responded offering me a gift card in hopes my next experience would be better than my first. A move I obviously appreciated. After ordering drinks and our meal we never saw our waitress again until we were looking around waiting for the check. Maybe i would have enjoyed the bland carbonara if My waitress was available for me to ask for cheese or pepper. My man did enjoy his braised pork special. The bite i had was tasty. Thankfully, this experience was quick. Still, no rush to return. read more

Walked in at about 9pm on Saturday night at sat at the bar table area. The bartender Matt was great. The food seems to have deteriorated since our last visit. We started with the marinated tomato salad. The tomatoes must have been soaking in balsamic vinegar all day! They were soft and mushy. Then we had the linguine and claims with pancetta. There were only 8 clams in the dish? Worse, the pancetta was chewy and cut into 1/4 inch cubes. Last time the pancetta was thinly diced and sauté d so it added a nice flavor to the clam sauce. I am not sure what happened to this place, but tonight it was not good. read more

I've been going here since they opened years ago. I've NEVER had a bad meal here. Last night we came in and had the scallops with risotto, the branzino, and the orecchiette with spicy veal sausage. BEST MEAL EVER. New chef Kristi McDonad is killing it. You gotta go. Amazing. read more

Lunch was amazing - nice girls brunch. We ordered way too much food but everything we ordered was great. Definitely recommend to all.

Food good... service not so much. Waited a very long time for order, then they got the order wrong.... Not rushing back to this one ! read more

We've always enjoyed aMano but they have gone above and beyond during the Covid crisis. Their food travels well and they prepare it promptly. They are offering discounts and delivery. They even threw in some extra goodies for our especially large order. When we called in recently and they were out of an ingredient, they went out to buy that ingredient so that our dish would be complete. We are so thankful for local establishments like aMano. read more

This place checked all the right boxes for me. Free pizza that tasted amazing with an entree, tasty rigatoni and strawberry sorbet and to top it off, the waitress and management were very sweet. They gave us free desserts! I would go back again and recommend anyone in the area who are looking for some yummy italian food to give the place a try. read more

After a nice day at the wineries, my wife and I had dinner at aMano. The staff was attentive and extremely pleasant. The food was well prepared and made fresh. Great location right off of main rd. read more

Recommended by our Realtor who knows the area inside out. We had a delicious lunch and a terrific server with personality during COVID which is tough for them. We are excited to have bought a house nearby so we can put aMano on our rotation!!! read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time just a few days ago. The service was pretty fast. We sat in the outdoor area which was nice and the tables were appropriately distant from one another. The bread came quickly and was warm, (a little too tempting after the quarantine weight gain). My table got the cauliflower to start. Nothing too special. Lastly, I got the salmon as my entree. It was excellent. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Tried this place for the first time, was impressed with the food. We tried the meatballs and Caesar salad for appetizers. The meatballs we tender and served in a delicious tomato sauce that was so tasty, the focaccia bread that came to the table was perfect for sopping up the deliciousness. The Caesar salad had a touch of radicchio in it and shaved Parmesan on top, it was so tasty and a notch up on the usual Caesar salad. We tried the strip steak with green beans and roasted fingerling potatoes, the steak had a nice char on it and was cooked to perfection! The green beans were fresh and crisp, so delicious and the potatoes were also good. The other entree was the Tom's carbonara, wow, wow, wow! The smoked duck, pancetta and sauce were delicious, the cheese in the sauce had a slight twang to it., I would order this amazing dish again. I'm not from the area and was glad we stopped in. read more

We enjoyed a delicious lunch! We had the fried calamari order - fresh and lightly fried; fried burratta; meatballs appetizer; brunch special pizza. For lunch entrees we had chicken cutlet sandwich, quiche salad and the meatball hero. Everything was freshly made and tasted great! Definitely will return and will recommend this restaurant to everyone who comes this way! read more

Dined here for the first time today for dinner. We had the beef carpaccio, charred broccoli with garlic, gnocchi with lobster in truffle cream sauce, and linguine with shrimp and crabmeat. Every dish was absolutely wonderful. Professional service in a casual atmosphere, the wait staff was very sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

Great neighborhood dining! Always good food, great drinks and friendly, attentive staff. Adam, the owner, always tries to keep the foods locally sourced and healthy. The Osso Bucco in the fall is amaaazing! I'll be doing an article on them soon. After a day on the water four of us were seeking a great meal. Being that it was a Sunday evening at 8:30 and many local restaurants close at 9:00 we were concerned about finding a restaurant to accommodate us. No issue at A Mano. One phone call was all it took for us to hear that they would be happy to seat us. The scallops were outrageous! Five large scallops arrived over a delicate risotto that made you want to lick the plate clean. We began with an appetizer of the daily pizza special. Four slices of melt in your mouth thin crust pizza were totally enjoyed by our crowd. The wait staff was attentive and the drinks were awesome! Highly recommend A Mano. read more

Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. The chef came out and was very accommodating. Food was excellent. Would definitely go here again.

The food is very good. The service is just incredibly slow. Our appetizers took about 45 minutes to come out, and the dinner an hour and 15 after that. The place wasn't all that busy either. It wasn't the waitresses fault, she was great. Something tells me it's on the kitchen staff. read more

Great food, good wine list. Service was a bit slow but had a great evening. The mussels that were on the specials for the day were great. Lots of flavor and perfect size for appetizer for one or sharing. Pasta dishes were great as well. Is recommend the spicy veal to anyone who likes a bit of kick to their dish. read more

The flavors here are on point! Pizza and pasta were both very good. Portions were generous too. Must try the fig pizza!! Amazing. Would definitely return if I'm in the area. read more

Greeted by the owner Adam, an amazing man. very professional and warm. I don't drink, he offered me a non-alcoholic drink that looked like a real one so I can 'fit in' with my boyfriends closest friends for a wedding party. the place was beautiful, food placed out was incredible. their pizza.. I'm blown away. for antipasti I had their simple green salad with heirloom cherry tomatoes, radishes and scallions. second corse was sautéed local flounder with spinach, capers, and tomato in a white wine butter sauce, and last I had the flower less chocolate cake. no complaints, everything was perfect. you'd be a fool not to eat here. read more

Great pizzas. Loved the mushroom truffle pie. Thursday's pizzas are half price. Everyone we tried was deliscious

Went to A Mano last Saturday night. Called last minute and the hostess was professional, said she would call me back to see what she could do. Sure enough, she did, and notified me that we could sit in the bar. I said fine, and off we went. This review begins and ends with one word. Overpriced. I don't care what the price, food, location, service, etc. if the quality of the food seriously lags behind the prices, then I become an unhappy patron. We all ordered pasta specials, they were all over 25.00 each. For that price, they better really sing. They did not. Average at best. We shared the risotto appetizer, and it was pedestrian. Risotto is one of those foods that when it's not spot on, it's bad. This was bad. Flavorless, and undercooked. I don't think they tasted this dish before serving. My dinner companions ordered salads that were haphazard and flat. I hate giving a place a negative review, but when you charge manhattan prices, you better serve manhattan quality. If this place ever tried to make it in manhattan it wouldn't last 6 months. Sorry A Mano, bring up the quality or lower the prices. read more

Fairly good, they screwed up a lactosefree dry pork chop. Their pizza is good enough but pretentious - mushroom, fontina with truffle oil - nothing special bit not horrible. Looking forward to when they change chefs read more

Either they've dropped off over the past few months or someone has it in for aMano (it's one word), as their last 5 reviews have been damning. Have been holding off on redeeming a Restaurant.com giftcard here until the offseason hit, as tempting as al fresco dining on that patio is. Happy I didn't let the recent disapproval dissuade us, for the most part, once we stepped foot inside. (Sadly, the entrance and exit (both one-way) are kind of in disrepair, and the lot lacks any demarcation so there were some old folks dangerously emerging from their vehicles in the exit-bound turn as we left.) Water was plentiful (we opted for 'local', an inquiry that also caused pause at the 2 tables surrounding us)...that is, far more so than the horseradish-crusted bluefish entree (assuming the dish size is the same, as I ordered this a la carte rather than with the prix fixe, which seems like a solid deal if portions are fair), which was a nice dish for the first 3/4, after which it gelled into something very odd texturally (to compound the already-crumb-y consistency). The candle was a nice touch, added while we were enjoying our entrees next to an empty bread basket and empty bread plates, both of which had been there for the entire meal - the tables aren't tiny, but this was unnecessary. In a similar trend, said focaccia was also too crumb-y for my taste, emerging from the nearby open-concept woodburning oven, which seemed inefficient given the distance from the kitchen (but assume this was for ventilation and/or showmanship). Decor is inviting but not contrived, offering a warm feel despite some oddly placed tables. The bar can get loud even on a slow night when you're at the other end of the joint, slightly more distracting than the tad-too-loud holiday tunes overhead. The osso buco $26) drew raves, but the aforementioned bluefish ($24) was more like ponyradish-encrusted, as it lacked zip. Damage came to $37.13 after the 20% compulsory gratuity...not sure I could justify a return even for the prix fixe, but would consider a patio outing if we were nearby and strapped for options, just not sharing the review with friends/family. Fan of the decor/ambiance, qualified-complementary of the food, take-it-or-leave-it on the friendliness/overall service (aside from the water, the hostess greeted us indifferently and the person I spoke to before coming gave me an 'I think' with a pause before checking after I asked them to verify), and a stop-putting-customers (or their cars)-in-danger parking lot (it's that bad). A summer visit here might have me whining 'if there were more food and fewer people, this would be a perfect party'... read more

I am never disappointed! You have to try the risotto del giorno (risotto of the day). Each time I have ordered it the flavor was completely different and I loved each one, but my all time favorite was the duck risotto. Plus the perfect way to end dinner is always with a chocolate bag! read more

It took our food over an hour to get to our table, which I would understand if the diner was busy. Including my party there were only 5 tables with customers. When we finally did get our food, my burger came over cooked and the bun itself was disgustingly burnt on the bottom. If it didn't take so long to get the order, I would have complained about this read more

Hugely disappointing. I was expecting authentic Italian cuisine, but the lasagne was below average and the salmon was flavorless, as were the side vegetables. The couscous was actually pearl pasta, but no one bothered to mention that -- also tasteless. Even the wine, a simple glass of Montepulciano was below average. The waitress was very nice and apologetic but receiving 10% off an over-priced meal of $110 for two, didn't really help too much. I was told by the hostess that the owner was a very well-known restauranteur on the North Fork, but it looks like the chef he has in place doesn't really care too much. Save your money, or just order the pizza. read more

The price-fixed lunch consisted of only two choices. My husband chose the one consisting of pasta with broccoli rabe, and veal sausage (without the sausage). I ordered puttanesca with cappers and chile off the regular menu and my daughter ordered a personal pizza. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and had to wait about twenty minutes for it. When it arrived it was slightly chewy but good. The fried lemon slices and crisped sage were an excellent touch. We waited about another 25 minutes for our entrees to come out. My puttanesca was too spicy. My husband's pasta dish was tasty but sitting in a puddle of olive oil. He actually tilted the bowl and poured at least 1/4 cup of oil out! My daughter's pizza was very good. The manager walked from table to table and asked the customers how their meals were. My husband brought up the fact his pasta was swimming in a puddle of olive oil and showed him how much he poured off. The manager apologized and said the reason that happened is the shape of the bowl causes everything to sink. read more

Came for dinner, service was horrible and they weren't even that busy. We ordered steamed mussels app which was OK, kinda bland. We had to ask 2 servers and food runner just to get bread. By the 3rd time we had already finished the mussels. You know what goes great with bread.... wait for it.... that's right, bread plates. It's a little difficult to dip bread in mussel broth when you're sitting at an outdoor table with a metal mesh top with no table cloth, and avoid dripping broth on your legs. It took 5 more minutes to get bread plates. You cant make this stuff up. Pork chop entree was great and their desserts were tasty and pretty creative. unfortunately I don't remember more detail about the highlights because the horrific service overshadowed the entire experience. read more

I ordered delivery from A Mano since I have enjoyed the restaurant and wanted to support them through this health crisis. It was the best food we have had in two weeks and was delivered to our door. My husband and I don't particularly love Italian food, but this place seemed cute and cozy. We didn't have a reservation, and on Sat night, it was pretty packed. We got on the list for 2 seats at the bar- which we kind of like anyways. Mike, the bartender, was AMAZING. I don't know how he moves so fast and keeps everyone's orders in check, all while staying calm, and running the entire bar by himself. We ordered a few dishes to split- warm mushroom salad (UNBELIEVABLE!), meatballs, and grilled octopus. All of the apps we ordered were delicious. Super flavorful, good value, etc.. But I couldn't possibly say enough about that mushroom salad. read more

With reservation made went to Amno hoping to not to relive some of the dining horrors outlined by other guests. We ended being placed at Ed. M table of shame after noticing another couple returned to the bar that must have turned down the table before us. The flickering light still lingers and a stack of chairs in front of the exit along with the table bus station / pizza oven ambiance is still presented a viable dining option? We finally left when the unresponsive hostess never returned when we suggested we would prefer to sit at the bar? Which when we were leaving after 30 minutes of waiting was empty on the way out the door? Have crossed off Amno and Alure from our East End restaurant list. Ended up with fresher salad, tastier meatballs, and a much better tasting pizza (not prepared next to dirty dishes) at 1943 Pizza Bar in Greenport. read more

I really really like aMano. The service has been consistently great, all the servers are friendly and helpful, and on Thursdays there's Happy Hour at the bar and 1/2 priced pizzas all night - you can't beat that! The salads and mains are huge! The sea food is always cooked on point. And it's open year round. read more

I was very excited to have a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner with my fiancé at Amano. I made a reservation a week in advance for the late sitting at 745. We arrived a bit early and they seated us at this non balanced table, under a flickering light, a few feet from the rear service exit next to the pizza oven in the back.... I talked with the manager and reminded her we had a reservation and didn't just walk in. She said that's all she had for us but we could sit the bar and eat. Really??? We left and never to return!!! Huge disappointment!!! Horrible New Years experience....! Ended up at Cooperage, wonderful meal! Thank god they could fit us in... Amano really sucks!! read more

I had been to aMano years ago and I did not like it at all. With a raving recommendation from a friend I tried it again and I'm so happy I did! The food and service were both amazing! I cannot believe the flavors bursting out of every dish we had. Instead of ordering entrees we shared 2 appetizers and a pizza and we were stuffed! I totally recommend the mushroom and truffle pizza and the meat balls they were hands down amazing!!! The third thing we got was the mussels special which was delicious. I highly recommend coming here. Our server Helen was so sweet an absolutely amazing! Wine prices are reasonably cheap. I recommend getting the bottle instead of glasses definitely more reasonable and you can cork the bottle and bring it home if you don't finish it. Overall I will be back everyday for that pizza and meatballs!!!! read more
