We had reservations for a private dining room. Apparently the folks who had the room before us were camping there. After waiting for 20 minutes to be shown to our dining area, we went elsewhere. The restaurant really needs to establish firm time expectations with its guests if it is going to continue to offer this option. Had dinner with a few friends. The scallops were excellent as well as the salmon. The asparagus that came with the salmon had a propane flavor. The couscous is the large pearl version not my favorite. The lamb dish was good same couscous. We all shared a price of cream cheese frosting chocolate cake. Loved this place when they were in their original location, but since they moved downtown (quite some time ago, mind you) I always forget about going here. We had a quarterly dinner with friends and it was their turn to choose and I'm glad they selected this restaurant. The food and service were both excellent. The wait staff was attentive , but not overly so and there was no feeling of being rushed out the door. The food tasted every bit as good as it looked and they were very accommodating to dietary needs. So glad to have the reminder of this dining gem in downtown Salem. read more

They have an outstanding happy hour here and I enjoyed coming here with my friends. Most of the items listed were not pictured in my yelp review but we had Strawberry Mojito (which was delicious), Popeye Pizza, Petite Mac and Cheese, and Sweet Pot Fries. I wish we ordered more, but we walked over to Sweet Smith in the same building for dessert. The food was delicious and vibe here is perfect. Not too fancy, but not too casual. As our first dining experience in Salem, we picked a winner! Happy Hour till closing and I had the best margarita with real lime juice at Happy Hour prices. Traveling north on I-5 and spending the night on Salem, we decided to return to Amadeus for dinner (had great experience previously). On a Thursday night, they weren't real busy, so we were seated right away. Our wine and Cesar salad came right away along with delicious hummus and chips. I ordered the cod with gnocchi and sprout in cream sauce- amazingly delicious! My husband had the tortellini which he truly enjoyed (but suggested that mushrooms would have elevated it even more). They close at 8, but nobody hurried or rushed us, and we didn't even know that they closed an hour before we left. Top notch custom amazing drinks and the food was absolutely to die for. Our apps were artichoke dip which was good but not great, we didn't taste the truffles at all; the baked Brie that was out of this world, and some mince pie type tart which was also outstanding. The entrees were amazing and all perfectly cooked. We were all over the board with fried chicken, salmon, Korean ribs, steak, and Mac and cheese. I tried most of the dishes and they were all mouthwatering and outstanding. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of the meal. We will definitely be back! The restaurant, chefs and staff were exceptional. Especially given the constraints the industry is under. We were seated outside with a great vantage to people watch. The heating was ample given the time of year. They have patio seating and a more enclosed option. Definitely make a reservation! Dress a little warm and you will be fine. Cocktails were crafted to perfection with many traditional drinks and a few spins. Our dinner was executed to perfection. My other half had the risotto with shrimp and bacon. Need I say more!? I had the beef medallions in a demi glaze. Served with a hard char and a medium rare inside. This folks is how it is intended. The wait staff was enjoyable to chat with and on point. We have lived in Salem for 3 years. My family and I have tried a good number of restaurants throughout the area, but this is hands down, the absolute BEST! We enjoyed the fig crostata (I do not like fig but I really loved this appetizer)! Amazingly light and fluffy, savory with a touch of sweetness, served with a small bed of arugula- divine. Hubby had the panko crusted cod. It was perfectly cooked, served on a jalapeño corn base. Outstanding! I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel. Great tasting chicken, cooked to perfection served over red mashed potatoes and with grilled asparagus unlike any other I have ever eaten! We finished with the macadamia Carmel dessert. Oof, I'm disappointed in this place. My BF and I had a random Friday date night where we just start at one place in downtown and kind of move our way through. We just finished drinks at a couple of bars and we were walking past Amadeus and decided to have dinner here since it was on our to-go list. It was pretty early still, like 5:30pm and majority of the tables were empty "but reserved," so the host told us that there were a few table tops open at the bar. We sat there which was fine. DO NOT order the "ceviche." I have high expectations for ceviche because it is one of my favorite summer dishes and it fell flat. Unless you are looking for cucumbers and avocado soaked in lime juice, then by all means order it. There was barely any fish in it and it was just sad and an embarrassment to what ceviche should be. I should have sent it back, but I ate it all because it took our meals so long to come out. None of our dishes were memorable. I had the Spiced Lamb and it was just drowned in sauce that I couldn't really taste anything besides the sauce. BF ordered the Summer Sofrito and didn't tell me anything whether he liked it or not, so it must mean he didn't hate it..but also didn't love it? Dinner was very pricey considering it was not satisfying. Anyway, we are both disappointed and not sure if we are willing to come back to give them another shot. read more

Omg, what a wonderful experience my wife and I had here on our anniversary. The waitress was absolutely amazing and so attentive. She Had knowledge of the food she was serving and was able to answer any and all questions. The margherita pizza was on point!! This pizza was perfect. One bite and it made you want to kiss the chef's in the back and thank them for a pizza that mf slaps!! Can we talk about the twisted sister?!? The server never came back to our table to see if all was good, until our meal was pretty well picked over( we didn't order any alcohol ?) They say, "all's well that ends well." Certainly didn't start out well. Okay, so it's the night before Mothers Day, and it's prom night, and it's the night before my son's college commencement ceremony, but dammit, if you don't have the capacity, don't take the reservation. After an annoying wait during which time the hostess was mostly not around (probably to avoid people complaining about the wait), but when she did emerge, she was quick to tell me, she was seating all the large tables first, presumably, regardless of reservation time. When we were seated finally at 7:30, for our 6:45 reservation, I was not in a good mood. Our server, Alena, was though, and her charm and manner, made us all calm down and have fun. We started with celebratory drinks. Unfortunately our first appetizer pick Crab Puffs- Pate choux, lump meat crab, fontina, jalapeno aioli, jwas out and our second pick the chick pea fries was also sold out, so we ended up with the Artichoke & Black Truffle Dip- Artichoke hearts, secret cheese blend, black truffle oil, baguette bread. $7 very tasty. I was not so sure about that combo, but it had the right ratio,and was very tasty. They skimped on the bread, but were quick to bring more when we asked. 4 stars I had the Jumbo Prawns- Fresh large prawns, herb gremoulade, forbidden rice risotto, popped cherry tomato confit. $25 with 1/2 Caesar Salad. $4.50.: 3.5 stars. The prawns were a little over cooked, but the flavor was great, and the forbidden rice risotto had a great nutty flavor and perfect texture. Liked that they offered the half salad, and I thought the price point on both were very good. Son had Stroganoff- Chargrilled Snake River Farms steak medallions chargrilled, rich portabella and crimini mushroom cream, pappardelle pasta. $24: 4 stars. Not overly sauced as this dish often is. The beef was excellent quality Hubby had Harvest Dinner- Chargrilled Frenched Carlton Farms Pork chops, stone ground mustard potatoes, vegetable ratatouille, warm carrot sauce, bacon apple compote. $24: 3.5 stars. Lots of unrelated elements on the plate. Needed some editing, but each by itself was tasty.
