Sarina's is truly a hidden gem in downtown Salem. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with an atmosphere that feels elegant, warm, and inviting--almost like stepping into a refined neighborhood in Florence, Italy. The décor and artwork throughout the restaurant are beautifully curated, adding a sophisticated touch without making the space feel pretentious. One detail I especially appreciated was the lighting. The light fixtures are thoughtfully arranged throughout the restaurant, creating a beautifully balanced ambiance that illuminates the entire dining area while still maintaining that intimate, upscale feeling. The service was just as impressive as the setting. The waitstaff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. They checked in at the right times and were very timely without ever making the experience feel rushed. It's clear that customer service is something Sarina's takes seriously. The menu is another major highlight. It's clean, easy to read, and offers an excellent variety of food and drinks, making it easy to find something whether you're looking for a classic Italian favorite or something a little different. And honestly, everything we tried was 5 out of 5 stars. The quality, presentation, and overall value were outstanding. Speaking of value, the prices are surprisingly affordable considering the quality of the food and the upscale atmosphere. You get the feeling of dining somewhere much more expensive without the hefty price tag. Parking is also incredibly convenient. There is plenty of free parking available near the parking garage in downtown Salem, which makes visiting Sarina's even easier. Overall, Sarina's checks every box: excellent food, affordable prices, beautiful décor, thoughtful lighting, a welcoming atmosphere, and genuinely friendly service. It's the kind of restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal while feeling like you've temporarily escaped to a beautiful part of Italy. Absolutely 5/5 stars. I am happy to see a restaurant in Salem busy. On Friday evening, around 6:15, it was very busy. I walked in with my mother in a wheelchair and my sister. The host/hostesses at the front desk were hospitable and immediately took us to a table somewhat in the center of the room. The room was extremely loud; it was very difficult for us to hear each other at our table. The server was competent and friendly; our food arrived hot and looked delicious, but the portions were exorbitant. My mother had the chicken piccata, which was so heavily covered in sauce that it was hard to find the chicken, and there was enough pasta on her plate for 4 people. I had the sole puttanesca, which was delicious but again smothered in sauce, with only a tiny portion of fish and a huge amount of pasta. My sister had some sort of sandwich I don't recall, but the chips were delicious. We splurged and shared the Marion Berry Cheesecake, which was spectacular but, again, a giant portion that even the 3 of us couldn't finish. Again, I am so pleased to see a thriving restaurant in downtown Salem, and I hope it lasts long-term. The noise level in the main room is awful- far too loud. The food is very good, but the portions are far too large and too heavily sauced. I cannot say we will be running back in the near future; sadly, the acoustics are horrific -- at least in the main dining room --and the entrees are over-doused with sauce. The food was great. My children loved the Alfredo and spaghetti. My husband has the shrimp & sausage jambalaya and said it was good but he wished it was spicier. I didn't love my rigatoni allá vodka, it lacked flavor. However, the short rib & beef grilled cheese was AMAZING and we are quite addicted to their freshly made potato chips. I highly reccomend this dish. Next time, we won't sit out by the mall, as it's a bit overwhelming but will sit inside instead. We will be coming back regularly. ‍ read more

We dined at Sarina's based on the reviews. Ordered the Tuscany Lemon Drop to start off with. Our server inadvertently gave me a margarita instead. Wish she let me keep it. Oh well... My husband and I shared a bowl of minestrone soup, a half portion of spinach salad, Sarina's combo entree (lasagna, spaghetti, and chicken parmigiana), and tiramisu. We enjoyed the soup and salad more than the main entree. The dessert was okay. We've had better tiramisu elsewhere. I think if there was a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top, it would have tasted better (in my opinion). Our server brought our entree before our salad and soup. She apologized for putting a hold on the wrong items. She held the salad and soup, but meant to hold the entree. We appreciate honesty, and know that these things happen sometimes. At least the wait wasn't long. Which we appreciated. Our server was really sweet, and checked in on us often. We had plenty of food to take home for lunch the next day. Prices were reasonable. Parking is along the street. We dined on a Sunday evening, so parking was convenient, and free. The room was bustling and noisy. We would dine at Sarina's again. Next time we'll probably try the espresso martini (and/or cafe amaretto, or tiramisu latte), and share the baked italian meatballs, calamari fritte, short rib ravioli, and lemon berry cream macaroons cake. Enough for dinner, and also lunch (or dinner) the next day. Perhaps next time I'll give Sarina's 5 stars, instead of 4 stars. Time reveals all things. read more

Great opening day! Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Prices were lower than we expected and portions were quite generous! Favorite at the table was the Lasagna for sure. Short rib ravioli also very good and crave-able. Vodka Rigatoni was very tasty but could use a little more sauce. Great first experience and we will definitely be back! If I could give this freezer dinner "food" place negative stars, I honestly would. The food was extremely disappointing and had almost no flavor. Everything tasted bland and, honestly, like it came straight from a grocery store rather than being freshly prepared in a restaurant. I expected much more, especially considering the prices. The food lacked seasoning, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing about the meal made me feel like I was eating authentic Italian food. I know Olive Garden isn't exactly what I would consider a traditional Italian restaurant, but I would choose Olive Garden over this place any day. At least you know what you're getting. For the price, there are way too many better options out there. I genuinely regret spending my money here and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Italian food. Amazing soup, entrees, sauces, portions, cannoli and service. Very pretty inside and out but a little noisy. Most things don't come with bread. The only restaurant spaghetti I have ever liked. Chicken piccata was superb. Lots of leftovers. Can't wait to try more. read more

We are new to Salem and have been looking for a good Italian restaurant; Sarina's may be it. This is out first visit and we were impressed with the overall experience. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes above average and the food was flavorful. Our waitress, Maria, was excellent and very helpful. We will definitely return. read more

I was excited to try this new place but I did not like my meal because the seasoning on my salmon tasted funky to me and was a little bland, and the broccoli was very watery and cold. I asked for Alfredo sauce for my pasta and it was more of a butter sauce. My husband liked half of his trio meal because the chicken parm was salty for him. My kids liked what they ate, the meatball sandwich and the chicken Alfredo. We were seated quickly before the dinner rush, but our food came out really late. It would have been ok if we had a starter, but without bread at the table to nibble on I was getting hungry. We were there last weekend, they were extremely busy but service was very good, friendly, and the food was good - lasagna was right up there with our all-time favorite and the portions were generous. Nasty why did the chicken Alfredo have green onions in it. And the sauce was so runny they wouldn't stick to the noodles. Won't go back.
