My husband walked into this locksmith to get a car key copied to include the fob to unlock doors. They originally quoted $180.00, they negotiated further and finally settled on $140. After looking at the receipt, they charged a $4.20 SURCHARGE!. When he got home he noticed it wasn't a Toyota key, it wa a generic key with a "trunk release" for a truck??? What a pleasant experience I had recently in dealing with my FOB. I expected to need a replacement which turned out was not the case. The friendly man at AM PM Locksmith on Crow Canyon San Ramon saw that one of the pins that was holding the battery was damaged. He was able to make an adjustment and also put a new battery in. He explained what had occurred and with a smile. He said, "No charge." I was so surprised and thankful. Took my boyfriends original German quality key and thought he wouldn't notice only to say that they "broke" it after being confronted about it. BEWARE CHEAP QUALITY KEYS -- I've bought four replacement keys from this store for the same car. On the first two, the remote lock/unlocked stopped working soon after I bought them. I returned them and they told m it wasn't their problem. They sold me two more for a discount and within only a few months, the rubber over the lock button has come off, and the other remote lock/unlock rarely works. I have resorted to using the key to open the door. I don't want to pay what the dealership is asking, but this option is not working. read more

They broke my iPhone! The back of my iPhone was cracked and they said they have the big expensive machine and years of experience fixing iPhone glass. They said it would be ready in 4 hours. I drove there and they need 2 more hours. I drove there and my phone still isn't there and they said my phone was no longer working! Finally I get my phone and I turn it on and it says both cameras not recognized. The it turned off and gave me the apple signal of death. The worker told me they put after market parts in. The Apple Store said there was no reason why they should have taken out the front camera. Plus the front glass was taken out and put back incorrectly, making it not water proof. Apple said they took the parts out and put back in crap that doesn't work. This place is horrible at fixing phones! Now I am out $1k! They said that's what could happen, it was my risk. My fault for trusting them. You need a phone fixed, take it to an authorized dealer! read more

AMPM provides mobile locksmith services. We needed 2 new keys for our 2012 Camry. The car has been in my family since it was new. The locksmith "Coby" responded quickly and he met me at my house. The quoted price was $125-150 per key. This vehicle has an immobilizer key with a fob to unlock/lock as part of the key body. Coby completed the work and I checked the new keys and they worked great. When we got to the payment phase of the visit, the price had increased to $525. His explanation was that the keys were not "regular keys" and that he added a "trip charge" of $125. I told him that those were the only keys that came with the vehicle and that he didn't tell me about the trip charge until it was time to pay. I was about to tell him to keep the new keys when he said he would knock off $100 for a total of $425. Thinking about the time it would take to go back to the dealer I accepted. The work was completed well but I recommend that you get the total price for the job by text before using AMPM so you don't get any price surprises. read more

An old style locksmith who actually has the knowledge & skill to do his job. I took an old garage key to a chain hardware store. But since the key was very old it wasn't in their machine's program, sooo they were unable to make a copy. They were kind enough to recommend AMPM to me. I drove to their shop and could immediately tell it was run by old time locksmiths. Lots of antique looking locks and keys on display along with a 5,000 Lb SAFE.. Its for sale if anyone is looking..! I purchased a used car which had quite a number of mechanical issues and had previously been broken into. I noticed that the key that fit the ignition did not fit any of the doors for my Honda Element?.?. I took it over to AM PM, and the technician who worked on replacing the locking mechanisms for all three doors had to work on it for 2-1/2 hours. Mo fixed my original Nissan rogue key fob at no charge, since it was an easy fix. He just needed to readjust some of the metal inside. An easy fix that the Nissan dealership and another locksmith couldn't figure out.. They serviced me right away and then they gave me a great price on buying a spare key fob (since I only had one). It was a quarter of the price the dealership quoted me! I'd highly recommend these guys for their price and service. read more

My mother went in there to get a Ford keyfob battery changed, and the salesperson claimed the key was completely broken and needed to be replaced as new batteries didn't fix it, she refused to get another replacement key and i just popped new batteries in them and they work fine! Thank God for these guys who are able to come over with very short notice towards the end of the night and help me out with my door handle that broke.
