It's so hard to find good honest trades anymore. My security screen door lock seized last week. They were able to get it moving again and didn't even charge me as it was an easy fix. Thank you so much! Will be calling again and recommending to neighbors! read more

Scott was able to cut my 2024 Ford truck key that Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware were not able to do. Better yet, it only cost $25 and they provided great service despite being busy at times. If you are in Tri-valley and need a key cut, save yourself time and money and give them a call first. Thanks. read more

I lost one of my keys to our house so we needed to get the main door to our condo changed. I called Art answered and said come right down and he would take care of it right away. He even explained how easy it was to remove the lock assembly. I arrived at the shop and Art greeted me and was just finishing up another job. I handed him the tumbler assembly and asked for 4 keys. He completed the job in less than 15 minutes which was awesome. This is small shop but large in taking care of his customers. Social distancing signs are enforced and Art is masked. I am a very happy customer. He even carries customer key blanks and a few other lock items. Thank you Art. read more

Rave review! Needed car door & trunk keys (3 sets) created after ignition cylinder was replaced (so my new ignition key didn't unlock my doors & trunk). They got the job done in 20 minutes with no appointment, and the cost was VERY reasonable! read more

Awesome small business. 10 stars! I made the drive out there to get some car keys cut. I bought the blanks on-line and was going to program them myself. I called them ahead of time and they verified they could do it. They wanted to know the make & year. Quoted me $10, but when I arrived, only charged me $10 for 2 keys! How awesome! :) Keys were cut quickly and worked perfectly. Parking is easy in front of the business. In the past, we've used them to duplicate keys for a rental property. Always quick, excellent quality, and a great price. Support your local business! read more

We had our locks rekeyed by Scott. Scheduling was very easy; I was provided a quote for how much it would cost and I was able to get an appointment within a few business days of when I called, which was very much appreciated. The process took less than an hour, service was kind and friendly, and the cost was very reasonable. Scott was wearing a mask the whole time, which made me feel very safe. I would gladly recommend Art's to friends and family! read more

I have passed this business for years and have never required their services. I like staying local when possible. Last week I added a new tumbler lock to a bike rack. I jammed the lock and needed some expertise. I went into their shop for assistance and was immediately disappointed. The guy working the counter told me he had never seen a lock like I brought in. Weird, because I see them on every bike rack I come across. He barely looked at it and said, "I guess you can drop it off." I asked for my lock back knowing he could careless about helping me. I walked out puzzled for his lack of enthusiasm. I drove 1/2 mile away and the next shop had it fixed in no time. Went with 2 stars instead of 1 because at least the curb appeal is nice. Even if he was having a bad day, you can still be somewhat interested. read more

I mean they're your local locksmith and key maker (I think that's a term?). I brought over my older model van that needed a second key w/a chip. They were able to take care of that. I also had an issue with a door lock. They were able to explain how to fix it, and with that advice I solved the problem. All in all, I left with a new key and the ability to fix the lock on my door. So I would say that's a successful trip. I'd come here again. For sure. read more

The reviews are true! I need a car key programmed and called ahead. Art told me what time to arrive and when I walked in he helped right away. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Great value and terrific service. Highly recommend. read more

I just bought a new home in Livermore. I had these folks come out. They were able to come out the same day, do a great job, do it fast, and do it for low cost. I highly recommend them. read more

Scott and Steve both know their stuff. You can ask scott a question about a lock and he has an answer. Very helpful locksmith.

Art's Security Locksmith provides great service at very reasonable prices. I recently needed a new key for one of my vehicles ( 2003 Toyota ) and was pleasantly surprised that they were able to check that the existing key was not a programmable one. So I was able to get a "regular" key of my new extra key. read more

I went to get my ignition key programmed. They suggested that they clone my current one instead of programming my old one which was much cheaper. They saved me time and money without me having to ask. read more

I brought my new car fob in to have it programmed, Art was quick and very friendly. No appointment needed, I was able to drop in. His prices were very affordable. I will definitely be going back to him for all my key needs. read more

Art's was recommended by a competitor in Pleasanton who did not have the blank that was needed. I made the mistake of giving the master for my surviving storage space in Paradise to a relative who lives up there but can't find it now. The copies do not open the lock and cutting off a round lock for a storage space is $85. 8-( read more

Very good locksmith. Explained the issue and repaired my front door lock with no issues. Also lubricated the lock for easier use and did not have to replace the lock. Arrived on time with the allocated time slot agreed upon per appointment request. The price was fair and reasonable for the repair completed. This locksmith is recommended for all your locksmith needs. read more

Great job on our rekey project. It was fast efficient and thorough. So glad we called him.

I lost my key fob to my car and bought a replacement on Amazon. I tried to program it at home using advice from the internet but was unsuccessful. I took it to Art's and he was able to quickly program it to my car using a computer that he plugged into the car. He finished programming it within 5 minutes. He then cut the emergency key that comes with the fob. The price was reasonable versus having the dealer program it. I was in and out with the new fob working withing 15 minutes. Excellent service, I would highly recommend Art's. read more

Our front door dead bolt broke and we were hoping not to have to replace the whole mechanism. Our service person arrived promptly at Appt time and was able to repair without replacement for which we were very grateful. We Highly recommend using Art's for home locksmith repairs as well as for extra keys made in their Second St. shop. read more

This company has been around for decades; that's why I trusted them to re-combo my 4-drawer safe. I haven't used it in a long time and have lost the new combination. I phoned them last week to either retrieve the combo or to send someone to install a new combo on the safe. First, they don't keep any record of combos they reset. Second, they weren't really interested in doing it - - "We might be able to fit you in, in about 2 or 3 weeks." The next company I called was able to come out the following day. read more

I had hard time to open and lock my new place. It was getting worst and worst. Found out about him from my customer and made phone call. He came same day for us and fixed it very quickly. Working perfectly fine and very good price too. Call him when you need lock or key service. You will know why he has perfect review in the yelp. read more

We've been climbing through the back of our Honda CRV for over a year. It's the only way to get into the car when it's locked. Stopped by Art's (with no appointment) and asked them to take a look at it. An hour later, it was fixed. Even though each step of the process presented a new problem, they persevered and got it done. But that's not all. My wife called during the process and reminded me that she needed to be at school and I needed to be home to watch our son. When they overheard that, the other guy at the store stopped what he was doing and helped out. Wow! It's a third-generation, family run business owned by Livermore residents. Personally, I think that's a great thing and only adds to the value. I'd definitely recommend Art's and I'll be going back again. In fact, I don't even think I'll use the automatic key maker at the hardware store again. Even if it's simple key duplication, I'll head to Art's. read more

Got my new set of keys! He was friendly and service was fast. The shop was small; however, it's inexpensive to make new keys.

Wow! Fast friendly service and great price. Went to Home Depot to get this key made and of course they were not able to help me because the key was slightly bent. Arts Locksmith didn't have a problem with this and had my keys made in a minute. read more

I've used Art's a couple of times to tune up door handles, and make lock repairs. They're on time and efficient. Excellent customer service! read more

Great experience with Art's! I had 3 rental properties to rekey for the new tenants. Steve met me at the first property, we went to the second property, (both in Pleasanton)and ended up at the 3rd property in Livermore. He could not have been any kinder, quicker, or more professional! I am so happy with their customer service, and it was wonderful having such a great tradesman workin' his magic! read more

I needed a car key replacement for my Toyota Camry. They quoted 200 odd dollars and four days to get it done since they didn't have any blanks in stock. I checked with Daryl at Tri Valley. I got it done at half the price in 20 minutes. They probably would have done the job as well as the other place but charging twice as much seems excessive. Unless the keys are gold plated I wouldn't recommend getting car key duplication done here for the price they charge. Update: The owner was kind enough to call and let me know that they use an original Toyota key while others may not. That is the reason for the price difference. That makes sense. So far, I haven't had any issues with my key that doesn't use an original but that doesn't mean it won't in the future. I will update my review to make it a 4 star. read more

Coming here from now on. An actual locksmith who knows what he is doing, plus is super fair. Wish I had found these guys earlier.

Very happy with the service from this company. They new exactly what was wrong and repaired the door lock in no time.

I needed a new car key. Over the phone they provided the possible prices....If it could be cloned, then $80, if it had to be programmed, then $115. Simple and direct. I went to the establishment and he was able to clone the key for $80. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Compare that with Livermore Ford who quoted me over $250 if they could clone it. If Ford had to program, then the price went up from there. Thank you Arts and Security Locksmith. read more

Arts is the fastest and best locksmith I've been to, bar none, for key-copying. In and out in mere minutes for cheap. Could not be more satisfied over the years read more

Absolutely Fantastic Locksmith. Took some auto keys to Arts today from an old vehicle, 1965. No problem at all for them to make me a new set of auto keys on the spot and they made sure the keys work. Unbelievable fair price. Definitely will give my business to this local shop in the future Thanks so Much! read more

Our mailbox lock stopped working so we wen't to Art's to replace the lock. He didn't have the lock in stock, however he did manage to fix the one we brought in free of charge. read more

My girlfriend slightly bent an old car key and took it to Orchard Supply where the key guy deftly tried to straighten the key with his fingers and broke it in two. He then announced there was nothing more he could do. Yeah. Thanks, buddy. We Yelped "locksmith in Livermore" and Art's came up. She took the two halves of key in and amazingly, they were able to somehow duplicate the broken key. I can't tell you how much heartache would have ensued had our one key been lost. Lesson learned, we have multiple copies now. And lesson learned: Go to Art's and forget big box and chain stores for your lock and key needs. read more

We have used Art's locksmith in Livermore a number of times. They are equally great for large jobs (re-keyed home), simple key replacements, and replacement fobs and rekeying for vehicles. Great service every time. read more

Got what I needed, fixed, quickly, at an affordable price. No wait, just easy service. They even told me to go to OSH to get the lock which would save some money since the locks they sell in house are heavier duty. I dig it when people are there to help, rather than over charge you. WAY better than the previous locksmith I've dealt with (see San Ramon AM/PM locksmith review). Thanks guys! read more

My front door lock became jammed and I was stuck outside in the cold. After completing a job he was already at he came right over and helped me unlocked my front door. I was so thankful and would highly recommend!! read more

Steve was amazing! He tested out different options on my warped, '96 Camry locks. Super easy to talk to and up front about costs and solutions. Will be coming back if I ever need key copies! read more

We recently moved back into our home and wanted new locks. We also wanted to refresh a couple of the outside lock sets with the surfaces damaged by the sun. Scott came to our home, was polite and informed. He said he would get back to us that afternoon. We heard nothing. We called 3 days later and were told again he would get back with us that same day. We heard nothing. We called six days after his visit to the home and finally talked to him. We were told "I cannot find a dealer who carries your equipment. If you can get it I can install it." When I asked why he did not call us with this information I got silence. Six days of waiting for NOTHING. read more
