I was a regular customer here, and my entire family supported this salon from the time they first opened their doors. For years, this was our go-to place, which makes writing this review disappointing. Unfortunately, over time, the service began to decline while the prices continued to increase. During my most recent visit, a service that had previously cost me around $140 was suddenly $210, and the quality of my nails simply did not reflect that price. I understand that prices increase over time, but when they do, customers also expect the quality of service and overall experience to justify the cost. The salon is beautiful, but a pretty atmosphere can only go so far. After being a loyal customer for years, I left feeling disappointed and undervalued. I have since found another salon that focuses on the entire experience, from the quality of the service, to the massage, to the way clients are treated. It reminded me what a self-care appointment should feel like. If you do decide to visit, I would recommend booking with Johnny only. I would have also recommended Luna, but I believe she no longer works there. I truly hate that my experience ended this way because I genuinely wanted to continue supporting this business. The technician was friendly and made an effort to be conversational, but unfortunately the overall quality of the service did not justify the price. I chose the most basic In & Out pedicure, which was $40. Adding gel polish, a standard option at most nail salons these days, was another $20. Somehow the total still came out to nearly $81.75 before tip. Then, instead of a traditional tipping option, I was asked to send a tip through Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App on top of an already overpriced service. For what I received, the service felt extremely overpriced. It was basically a standard soak, basic nail care, and polish. Nothing about the experience felt premium or worth the cost. Honestly, it was the kind of pedicure I could have done myself at home. What bothered me most was the nail shaping. My toenails were cut crooked, and the technician didn't ask what shape I wanted before trimming them. By the time I noticed, they had already been cut too short and rounded, leaving no opportunity to correct them. Overall, this salon charges premium prices for very basic service. Between the excessive cost, mediocre results, lack of attention to detail, and disappointing final appearance, I will not be returning. I loved this place the first time I went, but unfortunately will not be returning. Both times I got a pedicure and the first time it was great, the second time it was just okay. I got a new full set and the most unusual experience happened to me.... Everytime I put my nails under the uv machine they were hurting so bad! Thought I'd try this place when visiting a friend to get my nails done and I don't plan on going back. My experience was ok, Alex was good my nails look fine I'm not unhappy, but my friends tech cut her pretty bad. I'm not saying a little bit of blood, this was multiple cotton swabs, and stop bleeding powder, her finger looks rough. Why get your nails done if you have to wear a bandaid to cover the cut? We weren't offered a discount and we had to ask for a bandaid. I'd try somewhere else, there's lots of other spots in the area. read more

I have been going so nice they opened and have never had a bad experience. Unlike other salons, you do not need to sit a wait. If your appointment is at 2pm, you are in a chair at 2pm if not earlier. Very personable and professional staff. They are all great, especially Luna and Jenifer! read more

I loved this place and it was great until it wasn't. Disappointed is an understatement. Woke up this morning after 3 extremely rough weeks looking forward to a relaxing nail appointment but instead, I'm typing this out with horribly painful nail beds. I was the first customer to walk in and asked Luna if they had time for a gel manicure. She stated yes and quickly seated me. I asked if it would be okay to not use the drill on my nail bed and she said "we need to use it in order to take off the gel top coat" (I know this isn't necessarily true because other nail salons have taken the top coat off with just a file before wrapping my nails) most nail salons use the drill at times to remove the top coat then they wrap your nail. Not only did Luna not wrap my nails, she used the drill to take off the enter polish I had on my nail when I first entered. I showed her the same nail combination I got once before and once she completed the polish and went to apply the top coat I stopped her and asked if she was really done which she answered yes. I was absolutely shocked by how my nails looked after the blotchy glitter she applied and asked her if she could fix it or remove the glitter. She got irritated and said "you should've said something after I applied the glitter to your first nail" She went on saying that's how the polish is which I responded and said I had the same combination a month ago and the nail tech applied the glitter beautifully and only used 1 coat. She got very irritated and started taking the polish off with a drill again. She was so upset that she was using a lot of force as she was removing the polish and the high speed of the drill and her pressure sent a very painful burning pain through my nail bed. I asked if someone else could help me and she started getting a bigger attitude. The manager comes over and she too seemed bothered and at this point I was just ready to leave. She stated that my nails are just too sensitive which is not true and I fact I have VERY strong nails and nail bed. I got to leave and she asked me to sit so she could remove the polish and fix it. I explained that my fingers were hurting and she told me that I should've asked for my nails to be wrapped. I explained that I've never had a tech not wrap my nails and I've been getting gel for years. She once again aid every tech does things differently and I explained again how I asked for the drill not to be used. The manager brought out a gel polish remover in the shape of a polish which I've never seen. After nearly 30 min and 3 rounds i was able to leave. I have NEVER dealt with this much pain before and it's such a shame that as a customer you go into an establishment hoping for some relaxation only to be hurt, verbally insulted and blamed for something that's not your doing. It's a shame and embarrassment how they continued to talk about me and laugh as if nothing happened or as if I wasn't still sitting there. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I moved to NoVA early summer and was looking for a place that did structured gel polish and found Always Polishd. I was lucky enough to have the owner, Johnny the first time I came in and my nails were a wreck from a previous place - my nails have grown back stronger and longer then ever. And I have continued to see him ever since! I always feel relaxed and my pedicures always feel like heaven - from the music, to the quietness, and calm vibes of the entire place. Thanks to Johnny at Always Polish'd, I'm walking around with a broken nail. I'm new to Lorton, and I'm just trying to find someone reliable to get a decent set of nails. Well this isn't it. I went there for them to fix the shape on a set of nails that I'd previously gotten somewhere else. I told him that the nails that he did less than 5 hours ago chipped off at the tip. He said that it's not his fault because he didn't do the initial set. Though the shape looks a million times better, he filed them so much that the acrylic was paper thin. They then proceed to take several other customers leaving me here with a broken nail. In the 30 min that I've sat here, I've had enough time to write this review and decide to cut my losses and pay to have it fixed elsewhere. I saw this salon had opened up and wanted to give it a try for a pedicure. The lobby is spacious but not necessarily inviting. The salon is new and clean which is a plus but I didn't particularly enjoy the experience. My technician was not friendly. I'm not interested in a full conversation during the service, but at least a greeting would be welcome! Second, she stepped away 3-4 times to take a phone call or answer a text during my treatment. I just didn't think it was very professional. Also my service was 35 minutes, not hours long so it's not like using the phone couldn't wait. Second she seemed very distracted. I selected my color. They use a book to show nail colors rather than have you physically grab a bottle. So I did at the beginning of the service. At the end she asked which color and pointed to one I clearly didn't pick. The I had to clarify. it just seemed a bit disorganized. This didn't bother me so much, but worth noting. I did like the moisturizer/lotion they used, which smelled pleasant. However the massage part of the pedicure was very brief. It could be the technician rather than the salon but it was not memorable and I'm not sure I'd leave my regular salon to come back here again. No. I tried to give this place 3 tries too many on my self and my husband two times. They over charge for mediocre work. If you have an eye for detail this is not the place for you. You will be disappointed. If you pay for more than the basic regular pedicure you will still have to pay extra to remove any extra dead skin (not even calluses) just extra skin that a basic pedicure should remove. I'm not sure if the rent is just too high and that's why they try to run game but you will be dissatisfied if you want a nice acrylic job and polish job or a nice relaxing pedicure which I don't mind paying for if it's done well from beginning to end. Now the place is very nice but that's about it. There is one lady that sits next to the wall on the second row (she's a bit older) now she does a very nice job on acrylics but told me I needed to try someone different there because she was ill and couldn't do acrylic nails anymore. I tried someone else today like she told me and it was very disappointing, she was the reason I came back a third time but trying someone else went as bad as the first time I came. Always Polish'd is such a great nail salon and addition to Lorton! I've been anxiously awaiting for it to open since my normal nail salon in Lorton didn't survive very long after COVID. The salon is very nicely decorated/designed, very clean, large, pays attention to small details, and provides a very relaxing experience while giving you a great manicure and pedicure! I didn't get the name of the woman that did my express gel pedicure, but she did a wonderful job. Johnny did my gel manicure full set with chrome and I am so happy with the results. I've been to the lorton location 4 times, each time I purchased their top-of-the-line pedicure and every time I've left and looked at my feet my feet looked the same as if I just went in, they just seem to quickly use the callus remover, there is no effort put in, they do t look or check. I've been moving a lot lately and found this spot 5 minutes away from me. It's located the Liberty plaza where Lidl is at and there's always plenty of parking. I called the night prior to book an appointment the very next day for a pedicure and they had an availability a little after opening. It's been 6 months since I've got my pedicure done so When arriving, the salon is very noticeable with its name on the brick building. It's pretty spacious when walking in and did I mention, BEAUTIFUL. It gives off such an elegant vibe and the white theme and crystal over lights give it a cool, regal ambience as easy listening elevator music is playing in the background- not too loud or soft. I signed in the iPad confirming I had the deluxe sugar scrub and was directed to the pedicure station that had the plastic wrap over the pedicure bowl and a massage chairs. I am a big lover of massage chairs and most of all, they don't have jets in the pedicure sink which is a bonus for me. Coming from family that owns a salon, we know the bacteria the jets harbor and strictly use sink bowls for pedicures, so this is always pleasing. When getting my pedicure done, my nail tech, Angel took her time and did everything timely and gently. She's very considerate and soft spoken, paying attention to small details. Throughout the process, the salon was fairly quiet with just the music playing as there was just one other person. I wanted a white French tips with gel and it came out beautifully. The salon overall is very organized, clean, and beautiful. Venmo/cash app cards for each tech laminated are organized at the front, and the WiFi password is on each massage chair. I wish I can say I'd come back often but I'm moving again soon, so I'll definitely have to stop by before I officially leave this area read more

I really hate writing bad reviews on small, neighborhood businesses but wow was my experience awful. I walked in for a pedicure and acrylic refill. I was the only client in the salon. I filled in my information on the iPad and the tech checked the schedule before starting me as I was a walk in. They started on my pedicure first. The sloppiest and fastest pedicure I have ever had. Start to finish, my pedicure lasted 15 minutes at most. The nail polish is thick, chunky and looked grown out. After my 15 minute pedicure i was told that they didn't have any time for me for the rest of the day for the refill, and I would need to come back another day because they had too many appointments. Again, I am still the only client in the salon. I was also told when I had checked in that they could do both. When I told them why no one told me that in the beginning, she said oh your tech didn't check the iPad for any appointments before starting. But.. he did. He fully checked the iPad to confirm he had time for me. It does make me sad leaving bad reviews but this was the really worst experience. read more

I had heard great things so I decided to try it out. Unfortunately, not super impressed. I had a 1 pm appt for basic mani/pedi and she was running about 15 min late which doesn't bother me, it happens. But then she was rushing through the manicure. Haphazardly filing my nails and rushing so much the filer was hitting my fingers/hand. Colors are chosen out of a book and neither the toenail color or the choice for my fingernails are what I selected. The pink for my nails is completely sheer it doesn't even look polished. Definitely NOT what I selected from the book. At this point I just wanted her to finish the job so I did not ask her to redo it. I would try the place one more time with a different tech before completely deciding not to go back. The salon itself is quite pretty, clean etc. Service could definitely have been better for the $85 spent. read more
