One of the best bar pies around. No bullspit , bordering on dive bar. This place is fantastic. Excellent service, good food and great pizza. Also, LOL at the people who rated this place 1 star because of.... Social distancing?! LMAO. Get a grip

I'm basing my review solely on the bar pizza as that's what I come here for. It is one of my favorites on the South Shore. The crust is on the thinner side, light, airy and crispy-crunchy. There is no flop no matter how many toppings. My go-to topping here is mushroom & green pepper. It's the same pizza/menu as The Braintree Brewhouse, another one of my favorite bar pizza spots. This place is not fancy, but a classic comfortable dive bar where you can get a cold beer and a great pizza. French fries are above-average too. Go check them out!

And I love that the new location has salads, as to me a South Shore Bar pizza is not complete without a Greek salad.

Welcome to Braintree, Tavern in the Square!…read more What once was home to Friday's is now the renovated Tavern in the Square. I think we can all agree that Friday's was a dump and needed to go. I have been to several other Tavern in the Square and I am happy that they finally came to Braintree. With plenty of parking, depending on the time and day, this restaurant is clean, new, and is perfect for watching all kinds of sports. With great big TVs, excellent food and wonderful service, I believe Tavern in the Square will thrive here. We stopped in here for a quick lunch and had great service. I ordered the Chopped Greek with Chicken which was larger than I hoped but still very good. My husband had their Steak & Cheese Crunch Melt. It reminded me of a steak and cheese but better. A must order for sure! Go check it out for yourself! I know you will be impressed as much as we were.

Stopped by here over the weekend for quick lunch and I wasn't blown away by the food, but the…read moreservice was great. I did make a reservation ahead of time, and I'm glad we did because by the time we were leaving it was really busy inside. I used to frequent this location when it was Fridays but it seems like they have a lot more room in this location compared to others and even have a patio from what I see. I only opted for a few appetizers as I wasn't too hungry Bang Bang broccoli - 4/10 could've been cooked longer and the sauce should be on the side, but it has some flavor. Maple gonchujang wings 9/10 These wings were really good and recommended by our waiter Madyson, and I'm so glad I got them. I do wish they were cooked well done as I had asked, and were just a bit smaller. (But that's my personal preference) Nachos with chicken 5/10 I feel like these might've been done before our other food because it was cold and barely had any chicken nor toppings. I did ask for additional toppings on the side which she brought quickly. I wanted a tequila based drink and she recommended a lemon drop with tequila, mango and guava juice and it was really good. Overall the experience was good, but the pricing is a little steep for the quality and quantity of the food. Madyson made the experience that much better as well, thank you.

Haven't been to The Range in quite a while - like a couple of years - but having recently moved…read moreback to the neighborhood, we decided to try it again for a weekday lunch. It was a mixed bag of responses from our group, seated past any lunch rush in a nearly empty dining room. A day after St. Patrick's day, I tried a special of Beef Stew. I found it was . . . meh at best, A little too salty for my taste, and it seemed to be getting down to the end of it. One potato wedge, 2 carrot slices, a few bobbles of stew beef and a lot of thick, over-salted stew. The accompanying wedge of soda bread had 2 hefty butter slices that couldn't save the dryness, but Irish soda bread is always a hit or miss prospect. On the other hand, a takeout Wedge Salad had everything I could dream of putting on a wedge of iceberg, accompanied by a healthy piece of delicious salmon that was cooked perfectly. A Reuben sandwich was full and seemed to please one of our party- the most difficult one to please - and the giant pile of french fries that cozied up to it looked like twice-cooked salty goodness. The third in our party had a simple Garden Salad that, like the Wedge, looked like it was a good salad. Coffee was good, and served alongside a little tray of a petite creamer, sugar and a single spoon was just a simple but sweet touch on a gloomy day. For me, the standout was the responsive waitstaff- servers were professional, informative about the menu and friendly without being overly pushy to order - the best combination. Overall, it was good and probably would be a lot better with more careful menu choices next time. And I'll definitely return for another Wedge Salad!

Recently visited the Range for the first time after driving by regularly, and am sorry we waited…read morethis long to try it out! This place has a neighborhood bar and grill feel with a nice driving range (and pro shop) out back. In my opinion, it's a 5-star atmosphere with 4-star food and drinks. We visited on a Thursday night and the place was PACKED. The parking lot was completely full with cars overflowing onto the side of the main road outside. I can't imagine how crazy it is on the weekend. We got on the waiting list after finally finding parking, and it was about 45 minutes until we got a table. No complaints though since it was the perfect amount of time for my husband to hit the driving range, and there's a little outdoor bar where you can grab a drink while you wait. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and while there were people of all ages drinking, golfing, or enjoying a meal, it's all definitely very family-friendly with lots of kids running around. The food itself was actually better than we expected, though a bit overpriced. I get the sense people are really coming here for the golf and the vibes more than anything else. Since that's what we were expecting, we were pretty satisfied with the quality of the wings, fried haddock sandwich, and strawberry salad we split. I also tried the Cool As a Cucumber cocktail and was super happy with it. Not too sweet and nice and refreshing on a hot day sitting outside. With lots of golfers in my family, I have a feeling this won't be our last visit!
