Ordered burger from there and there was a tiny little tomato and used cheap shredded iceberg lettuce. Also, I ordered a salad and the greens were slimy and rotten and they forgot the salad dressing to boot. For 20 bucks it isn't worth it. Never again! read more

This was my first time here and it was so good! I tried a margarita and an espresso martini and although the margarita was really good, the espresso martini was smooth, refreshing, with just enough sweetness, definitely my favorite of the two. The drinks menu has so much variety for margs, espresso martinis, sangrias and more. I got a tavern burger and it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly medium and the toppings were just enough, not too over the top. Good flavor and juicyyy too. The only thing that personally wasn't up my alley was the garlic parm fries, I should had stuck with plain ol fries. They were cooked well and were seasoned well but something made them a little on the greasy side. The aioli or truffle sauce was super bland and tasted like mayo (maybe it was mayo). I'd still keep my review at five stars though and this may just be a preference thing! Our server was great too and service was very friendly, prompt, with good conversation. Lovely peaceful environment, large covered patio enclosed but than can unzip along the sides in warmer weather! Both my daughter and I elected to have a delicious medium cooked tavern burger with their special sauce, which apparently is mustard ketchup mayonnaise, and some seasonings. While the sauce is not really that all special, the burgers were cooked to perfection and very moist, which I like. The french fries were great and extra well done as I like them. Everything was served hot. My daughter enjoyed her meal as well. The waitress and the server were both very nice, friendly and professional. We will definitely come back. I would like to go for dinner the next time and take a look at their dinner menu. I will update this review at that time. I already predict what I will have for dessert: the waitress recommended a dessert called called the skillet cookie, which is a very large chocolate chip cookie, served warm in a skillet topped with ice cream and caramel. Welcome to Braintree, Tavern in the Square! What once was home to Friday's is now the renovated Tavern in the Square. I think we can all agree that Friday's was a dump and needed to go. I have been to several other Tavern in the Square and I am happy that they finally came to Braintree. With plenty of parking, depending on the time and day, this restaurant is clean, new, and is perfect for watching all kinds of sports. With great big TVs, excellent food and wonderful service, I believe Tavern in the Square will thrive here. We stopped in here for a quick lunch and had great service. I ordered the Chopped Greek with Chicken which was larger than I hoped but still very good. My husband had their Steak & Cheese Crunch Melt. It reminded me of a steak and cheese but better. I did take out from here. This Tavern in the Square location is one of the newer ones I was told. I did see the bar area and the space is spacious and nice bar area. The front desk staff were very nice and took my food allergies seriously and wrote it down and double and tripled checked with me of what they were. I got a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was soggy at the bottom when I went to go eat it and the chicken had like no taste to it. The sweet potato fries also were not that tasteful. I never come to this area so I doubt I will be back to this location. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way back to Providence from Boston. The restaurant is not far from the highway, so it's an easy on/off stop. The menu was very much like other Tavern in the Square locations I have been before. Our server was very nice and professional. I had requested the salmon with no salt added and all vegetables as sides and she was very good about entering that request on the food order. My husband got the Sweet and Spicy Thai chicken salad, which was delicious and light. We liked our meal and our service. A great place in the Braintree area, right across from the mall. read more

Easy to get to from the highway. A industrial kind of look to the restaurant. Made reservations for a large group. Didn't seem difficult to accommodate us. Very friendly server, a very tall fellow. He literally knelt down to help older ones in our group order! Nice crowd. A bit loud, but we still managed to have conversations. The food was good, not exceptional except a few things noted below. The lobster rolls had big hunk of lobster. They were great! The fish portion with the fish and chips was enormous! The sweet potato burger was pretty much a smooshed sweet potato, but without flavour. And not burger like. Surprisingly ketchup helped. The espresso chocolate cake was shared. A gigantic serving and rich enough so that a bite or two would suffice. All in all we were pleased with our dinner at this location. read more

I had a really lovely experience at Tavern in the Square in Braintree. I arrived before my friend and was seated right away, which I appreciated. The whole place has this wide open, airy layout with plenty of seating, and the window-side tables give you such a nice view--especially with the fall scenery. It felt warm, inviting, and totally family-friendly. I ordered the salted caramel macchiato. I'll be honest--presentation-wise, it didn't look like the picture and was missing some of the fancy trimmings mentioned in the description... but the flavor made up for all of that. It was absolutely delicious. I also had a burger with Parmesan fries. The burger was solid, the fries were okay. Our waiter was soft-spoken but very attentive and genuinely tried his best, which I always notice and appreciate. Overall, I'd give my experience a solid four stars. This place has so much space! It is a lot bigger than Weymouth. Looks like they have an outdoor area for warmer months. Overall the food is good and I like the bowl options. It is not inexpensive. Our server was attentive and explained the meals for us. We will definitely go back. read more

Stopped by here over the weekend for quick lunch and I wasn't blown away by the food, but the service was great. I did make a reservation ahead of time, and I'm glad we did because by the time we were leaving it was really busy inside. I used to frequent this location when it was Fridays but it seems like they have a lot more room in this location compared to others and even have a patio from what I see. I only opted for a few appetizers as I wasn't too hungry Bang Bang broccoli - 4/10 could've been cooked longer and the sauce should be on the side, but it has some flavor. Maple gonchujang wings 9/10 These wings were really good and recommended by our waiter Madyson, and I'm so glad I got them. I do wish they were cooked well done as I had asked, and were just a bit smaller. (But that's my personal preference) Nachos with chicken 5/10 I feel like these might've been done before our other food because it was cold and barely had any chicken nor toppings. I did ask for additional toppings on the side which she brought quickly. I wanted a tequila based drink and she recommended a lemon drop with tequila, mango and guava juice and it was really good. Dined here for dinner in a Monday night at 5:30pm. This was my second time and my husband's first. Got seated quickly in a booth. Lively atmosphere but not too loud. Staff very friendly. My husband got the cornflake fried chicken tenders in the maple gochujang spicy sauce. They looked amazing w a creamy white dip and carrots and celery. He said they were very good but wasn't getting much maple flavor, regardless he thoroughly enjoyed them. He ordered the mesquite chicken bowl and really liked it, and big portion. I will RAVE about the chopped Greek salad w grilled salmon on the side. The salad was incredible. The flavors came together so nicely and completely complimented each other so well. I've never had flavors like that, all chopped small was so enjoyable! Romaine, feta, tomatoes, cukes, olives, chickpeas, toasted pita, phyllo, mint, and lemon tahini dressing throughout. It was the exact right amount of dressing, not too much not too little. The phyllo was a layer in the salad, so interesting and yummy. I don't have a pic but see it's been posted by another reviewer. They make mocktails, but use minute maid lemonade from the gun. We asked for sweet tea, but it was between brown tea flavored water. The pomegranate blueberry refresher I got instead was tasty. The chicken sandwich we got said it came with kimchi, but what we got was cabbage, pickles, and spicy aioli. The beans that came with my taco were disappointing, but the mango salsa saved the dish. The portions were more than fair, it's clear they lean on quantity over quality. We felt rushed, no offer for dessert, no refills. Seemed more like poor training than carelessness. Food was good and server was attentive. Went there with 6 friends yesterday to watch the World Cup. It was the hottest day of the year, and the inside of this place was almost worse than the outside. Not sure if the air conditioner was broken or what, but I walked past a thermostat that read 81 degrees. Additionally, we ate during the first half of the game and asked the waiter to take our plates. The waiter declined this request (even though we asked twice) and stated that it's their policy to not have the bussers take the dishes until the party has left. So for 2 hours we sat at our table with 7 empty plates and appetizer trays. Never seen a waiter refuse to take dirty plates off the table. It was great to come check this place out a few weeks after opening this Braintree location. Walking in this place, it is huge! There is so much seating and large bar. I particularly loved the area with the open windows which let in some of the years last nights of warm weather. The staff were very friendly as well and attentive. The food my husband and I ordered was excellent! We started off with the Bavarian Pretzels which were definitely some of the best I've ever had. They were warm, fluffy and nicely seasoned along with a nice side cheese sauce. For entrees I got the Blackened Bacon and Blue Burger and my husband got the Tavern Burger. The burgers were both nicely cooked and seasoned along with nice crispy fries. I got the Parmesan Rosemary fries which you can't go wrong with. I ordered their fish & chips , with sweet potato fries instead of frites. It's hard to can promptly, hot and as a large portion. This is pretty basic fare, and they delivered that. TGI Fridays was lousy but Tavern in the Square that replaced it carries on the traditions of way too salty food and mediocre service. The ambiance is that of a sports bar meets trendy dbag spot - lots of dark wood and mood lighting to conceal the tragedy in the kitchen. Had the steak crunch wrap- it was basically a steak and cheese in some deep fried wrap caked with salt and grease. The fried pickles were nearly inedible. Server was OK- seemed like she was reading off a script though No worries though '-- the location in dedham is just as lousy so at least it's consistent garbage ! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Terrible experience from start to finish. After driving 6 hours from Philadelphia, my family and I attempted to watch a football game here. After waiting 20 minutes with no one talking to us at the bar, we waived a bartender down to order our drinks. After one round, they cut off my entire family saying we were "too animated" and were too intoxicated. This restaurant was completely out of line. We were all behaving ourselves and hadn't drank more than one beverage. My family doesn't get together often and this restaurant ruined what had been a pleasant day.
